Mentioning the types of water from Ronnie B so quickly and with such accuracy. Very difficult to achieve but Ronnie B makes it look so easy. Brilliant.
2.25-2.33. Just look at what Ronnie C does with those 8 seconds. He knew there'd be a round of applause after RB's superb monologue and he was ready for it. Manages to fill it in a way that's funny without losing character. Real class these two were.
He’s reading from 2 autocues, one on his right and then one on his left and using his skilful ad libs where necessary.. No doubt he helped write the sketch too. A genius
Funnily enough , when I was a student I had a Summer vac job for two years running in a water board lab. Never came on anyone as funny as the TWO RONNIES though ! Though if you live in Mancroft Gardens Tettenhall, be very worried as to what you’ll find coming out of your taps ! 🤷♀😡😂
This is another great classic sketch from The Two Ronnies involving a pub that sells water what genius. Doesn't Ronnie Barker look different at the start of the clip to how he looked in the sketch that was because this was taken from Two Ronnies Sketchbook where Barker appeared very frail and also ill with a heart conditon.
should see the sketch where he played an ice cream parlour salesman - comes up with 2 different lists of flavours. Ronnie C is after crisp flavoured ice cream.
Corbett is correct; the future of commercial watering holes is decreasing. How many people can realistically afford a night out at the pub - the prices for which are criminal; thankfully, never been a pub person, but for those who enjoy a pint, it must be torturous. Barker delivers a seemingly never ending list of H2O - that's just pure genius, & for the set scene, remarkably prescient. Always a joy to watch two masters at work 😃
There used to be a supermarket near me (in the USA) selling Welsh water in blue glass bottles. I think they also sell Fiji water. So this sketch is not so far fetched.
Chortles! I was in North Carolina 2011. I tried a few American beers in a pub or few. They were all draught beers - no bottled beer, especially no bloody Budweiser! They were tasty. The best was Yuengling.
@@errolfellows409 Indeed, The Americans have finally recovered their sense of taste for proper beer....maybe they are finally over the hangover from Prohibition! I see they have finally acknowledged that watery lager is not beer.
@@patagualianmostly7437 Yuengling has been around for almost 200 years now. To understand the differences in beer quality you have to understand the differences in drinking cultures: beer often isn't really seen as something you hold up high and really admire the quality of, it's something you chug down on a hot day for refreshment or a "cheaper" way to drink. Something like an aged whiskey or fine wine is held in higher regard, but in the past decade or so good beers have come more into fashion (ironically it's actually the hipsters that are helping drive that) and so you're seeing more good breweries come up and the explosion of IPAs on the market.
@@ae4164 Yes indeed.... The national brewer here has finally acknowledged that beer drinkers deserve better than just "another variation on the lager theme" ... @TheYairisan "barely fluffed a line" ie they fluffed one or two. You know what helps with that? Doing it in a studio with cue cards and multiple takes.

Been some great comedy partnerships over the years but these two were the best. On behalf of millions of us..a million thanks.
Comedians today and no doubt tomorrow have a long way to go to be as brilliant as these.
Agree.
Mentioning the types of water from Ronnie B so quickly and with such accuracy. Very difficult to achieve but Ronnie B makes it look so easy. Brilliant.
The sketches of these two geniuses deserve respect... they manage to make us smile in the time of the corona....
Always with the coronavirus mention. The two Ronnies would be tired of that and take the piss.
Ah, we don't sell Corona.
Absolutely BRILLIANT 👏

They are so funny! I loved all their sketches!❤❤❤❤😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣👍🤗👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💯
Ronnie Barker was one of my favourite comedians - RIP
Just like a Modern Hipster place in Shoreditch. Sketch ahead of its time.

*must have

This is my favourite of all sketches. I hate the water snobbery of today plus it costs almost the same as a beer
the cost is simply capitalist greed- forever getting people to buy things which they don't need or should be free
Tap water in any establishment has to be free
Classic! I remember watching them in my teens.
A pub with no beer, Slim Dusty would be amused.
A true comedy hero RIP ronnie
God bless them. Simply the best of British.
Brilliant , eye watering comedy at its finest ! Ronnie Barker at his best ! Great sketch !
Eye water 🤔

if one of these pubs happened in 2016 it would actually work
Selfridges are doing it. May 2016.
There is one opening at Selfridges

I wouldn't be surprised if there was one today in the world. Welcome to Liberalism. lol

Hearing barker list the water names, it reminds me of the song called I've Been Everywhere, Man.
Comedy without relying on crudity or swearing to try and be funny
Even recorded, it necessitates a round of applause, every time.

Reading it very well, but reading it nonetheless.

Without vulgar and foul language, comedians today will be very poor and unpopular. I still enjoy the two Ronnies. Jgd the yogi Raj
Well deserved applause.
