"Plain but with beauty in it" describes her charm very well. I believe it is the same appeal people have towards Megumi Kato from "To Raise A Boring Girlfriend." They don't have to fall under an anime stereotype to be charming, both have that natural charm of an average everyday girl. Though Sora has a friendly and upbeat personality that is truly infectious. In fact, you can tell how infectious it is; you can feel at ease with how peaceful her community is. Not a single one of them has shown a hint of hostility, ever.
@@GawainW Hell,I haven't even seen any drama for whenever she collabed with, or talked about guys on her stream. Hell, she even did a 3D off-collab with Gatchaman playing 1-2-Switch, and I've never seen any negative backlash to that.
One thing that I think is critically missing, though I may be mistaken about this, is that Sora wanted to be an idol in high school and her friend, A-chan, wanted to support her. But Sora didn't want to necessarily just join up with some company. So they looked around and found Cover, a technology company who was working on face- and body-tracking tech for 2.5D. My understanding is that it's not so much that Sora was Cover's first VTuber to kick off Hololive, but that that Sora and A effectively founded Hololive themselves as a partnership with Cover. Of course, Cover manages Hololive, but their roots are still as a technology company. A-chan has said, iirc it was in the HoloTalk episode with her, that she and others, not necessarily Yagoo, run Hololive. That one high school dream, and the will of a friend to see her through it, has irrevocably altered the entire entertainment business and ecosystem. It's not so much that Hololive wouldn't be the same without her, but that Hololive might never have existed at all. I would double-check some things I brought up, but yeah.
Yes, however, the video itself focuses solely on Sora's history as a vtuber, her personality and her career as an idol. Not necessarily about the founding of hololive and how it got to there so it was omitted from the video.
@@ralphso5567 I mean, I think that's fair, but the fact that she and her friend effectively forced a company into being in order to realize her dream says a lot about her personality and her commitment to her goals, so it still feels strange it was omitted.

She may be a bit simple and not have that dramatic flare to her, but that is not something to be disappointed by, because her simplicity is somewhat refreshing among the sea of fantastical and mythical beings, with outlandish and over the top designs, Sora stands out as a refreshing breath of air with her own charm, someone who represents a dream, one that's growing gradually with her and for every giant that we see walking today, they are only following in Sora's footsteps. I think everyone can see this with how most holomembers treat sora compared to their other senpais, everyone is so caring and respectful of her as the first one. Also A-chan, "The first Soratomo" is such a powerful line, I can only imagine how Sora truly felt at that moment, receiving that from her friend.
Sora always feel a bit embarrassed when other Hololive members show a degree of reverence towards her. Part of this reverence was due to the fact that she still does not know why they feel that way, and that's the best thing about her.
as much as I want to root for the other modern Holomembers right now especially the one's in EN... I still stick with Sora and she'll always have a plays in my heart... I'm so glad she's getting the attention she deserves now and being the same age as her, I'm more than proud as well since at a young age she became a pioneer in this industry
She's the only nunnun to my konsome. God, I love her. As a pretty long time Soratomo, these kinds of videos are always a treat. Thank you all for making it. But this kind of video also always made me think that her eventual graduation, years from now, is absolutely the last thing I wanna see in this industry. I guess I'll just have to keep supporting her and live in the moment💙
There's a lot of reasons to be thankful to her. Starting, some of us may not know Hololive or Cover if not by the sudden boom of viral clips like Miko's GTA V moment, to give a quick example, or Korone's, "Oh. I'm die thank you foheva". But if not for Sora who was there from the start, we probably wouldn't find these clips or talents, Cover might've had a different direction or just stick to MoCap for 3D models, who knows. Not only that, Sora's attitude, charisma, personality, singing voice, all of her soothes and shines brightly when you stop to actually see her go. I started my respect for Sora when I noticed she was the pillar, but the more I saw her, the more I realized she's a pure idol worth cheering for. Not self-elevated or anything, not overstepping everyone else just for sake of fame, no drama; just a plain highschool girl with a dream who was ready to give her all. Can't help but cheer for her, too. Thank you for this insight video as there were things I didn't know, very touching and dedicated through and through. Thank you Yagoo, Thank you A-chan, and Thank you Sora ♥️
0:50 I remember watching some of that Vtuber concert. There were so many different Idol girls from different agencies/groups or are independent out there, but Sora immediately stood out to me. I could tell how sincere she was as a person from her devotion to her job. It was the kind of 'motherly' or responsible person trait you'd only see in older generations. Sora isn't the best singer or even have the best voice, but I'm drawn to her because of how hard she works and how absolutely genuine she is. Subaru from Hololive is a similar case. Her dance moves pretty much is the best in terms of idol dancing. From videos, you can tell she put her all into both academics and athletics. I have nothing but respect for these amazing people.
The Christmas miracle was truly an amazing moment, all it took was the kindness of one person to boost another person up! This was an amazing video, well done Soratomos!
A real masterpiece documentary video. I pay respect and gratitude. As a senior student who majored in Japanese literature & culture, I had researched the growth of Idol field in Japan a bit, so I'd like to add a little annotation : The Japanese type of women idol took important paradigm change during 1970-80, which is the rise of "growth story" of ordinary, normal, neighborhood girl changes into nation-wide idol singer. Especially this type of idol got solid by the famous idol ground called Morning Musume. I want to say Tokino Sora is highly smiliar version of this idol type, but Sora has two siginicant meaning. First, Sora proved virtual version of ordinary neighborhood girl type idol can also succeed. Even now there are thousands of Vtubers throughout the world but Sora is one of the most important and beloved Vtuber, which is undeniable. And second, which I think absolutly significant, Sora proved this type of idol can be popular not only in Japan, but also around whole world. Yes, this video is produced by English, and comments are full of different countries, and I'm also South Korean who is typing this comment in English. Again I thank you for making this precious video and hope the long live of Tokino Sora and Cover Corp.
Sora is a great inspirational figure, she is described as plain like water but when you see other vtubers, someone like Sora is actually the rare one, while i think a 20 mins video is not enough but focusing on Sora beginning and her slow and steady progress is a good thing to learn as most people only know about Sora as who she is nowadays, the great thing about Sora's journey is the process, basically with her talent and determination she just keep walking at her own pace, and from her hardwork she achieved many things that benefit not just for herself but also others, and after all of that she is essentially still the same normal well-manned girl which is really something
Sora is growing quite slowly but little by little her efforts are finally paying off. And I'm sure her dream of performing at the Yokohama Arena will definitely come true.
Didn't know i was tearing alot even tho im not that of a die hard fan but probably would follow her on most recording :D Waiting for her yokohama performance :D waiting her to say "hello mama! i'm finally here!"
Wow, what a wonderful tribute and history! As a relative newcomer to VTuber watching, I've always respected Sora, and this was a great showcase of how far she's come, how influential she is, and what makes her such a powerful and respected part of the entire industry! Rock on, Sora and Soratomos!

It's my pleasure to be one of Soratomos, I just have joined these group for one year, but I can promise boldly that I will be a Soratomo forever.
Very well done documentary! There was some stuff in here that I wasn't even aware of! I think one of Sora's biggest draws is how humble she is despite everything she's accomplished. Going from 13 viewers to 1M+, multiple albums, and becoming the face of one of the biggest Vtuber agencies in the world is huge, and yet despite all that, she still comes across as a normal person who is just doing what she loves, which in turn drives you to want to see her succeed. I really have nothing but the utmost respect for her!
I really liked the "why Sora?" part. For me what I like the most about her is her sweet personality and her overflowing kindness. There are so many clips from Sora that proofs she is number 1 kind person in Hololive: The clip where she talks about her serious anxiety about hurting someone or something by mistake (she got better after she talked to a friend); the clip where she says "I know you secretly call me goddess, but please call me Sora-chan ok?"; the clip where she talks about membership, she says something like "if you just want to comment without membership I'm completely fine with that. Please only support me within your comfort zone." Fun fact: from all holomems she is the one with the cheapest membership prize (what an angel); and of course the clip from her 1M celebration stream where she said to her viewers "you are my family" without hesitation
I first got into NijiSanji's "Definitely Normal Highschool Girl: Suzuhara Lulu" then I saw HoloLives " Tokino Sora". I was just checking TH-cam then saw Suzuhara Lulu's vods then a video from Sora popped up and I think that was the best event ever that happened to me in the net. That was like at 2019.
Thank you creating an educational video about Tokino Sora. I recently discovered vtubers because I was really stressed out in engineering school and needed a place that can let me relax a little bit. After watching a lot of Hololive clips, I find myself watching Sora's streams the most. Seeing her happily playing games infected me to be happy as well. Now, Sora's streams are a constant companion to my study sessions. I hope one day I'll get to see Sora perform in Yokohama arena and be a part of the cheering crowd^^
As a new Soratomo this video helps me understand / know the experiences Sora has gone through. From the struggles, hardships, and more importantly grit and perseverance to get to where she is today. So thank you for making this video! I will always support her achieve her dream however I can, because I believe Sora can do it!
This was put together extremely well! I started following Sora later in her career but I after listening to her music and learning about how hard she has worked over the years, how could I not respect her! So this was a very nice little recap of her journey and achievements. Thank you for this! Keep being awesome!

The fact that playful imps like Pekora and Mikochi drew the line at leaving Soda-chan alone from their pranks , told you how respectable Soda-chan is. .. Even Towawa never challenge her to the right of "sama" title

What can i say i am very proud of her.Being able to see Sora chan achieve many successes during this time gives me a lot of inspiration to continue working hard.
I got into Hololive around 3 years ago soon, and been following Sora for a large portion of that too. And man, it really does make you proud to see how far she's come, and it makes me so happy to see how well respected she is by the general Vtuber community as well. And even if a large part of the other Hololive girls have surpassed her in numbers, they never forget to pay respects to her for starting it all. Cuz Hololive literally wouldn't exist without Sora and A-chan.
she has mentioned before that she uses more simple and talks slower sometimes to try to help non native JP speakers to understand her. just really reinforces the type of person she is
There are so many girls at hololive with a huge array of talents and personalities, that unfortunately Sora has never been in my top 5 favorites to watch. However, I think Sora deserves the most respect out of them all, and i'm glad to see that even those who don't regularly watch her treat her with the respect she deserves and has earned. She not only helped define the industry, but has always been supportive of the other talents rather than jealous. Sora is an amazing person and I wish the best for her.
Such a good video! Sora deserves all the love and much more. I hope she will achieve all her dreams and keep on dreaming. She is very talented, hard working, kind and supportive towards everyone. Guys, if you are a Hololive fans recommend this video to other fans. Cause it's very underrated and deserve more views.
I can't say her content appeals to me, personally... likely due to the language barrier. However, I can't help but have respect for the sheer perseverance and hard work she has put in. Her being an OG has built a wall between her and those that came after. This is a bummer and I've been glad to see her interacting more, lately, with others in Hololive.
I was very impressed with the great video. I cried w The video was full of love. I feel the same way. Let's continue to support Sora-chan together. Thank you very much. And thank you Anderu-san for the wonderful Japanese translation. I am sorry. I'm not good at English, so I asked Dr. Deepl to translate it for me.
Thank you for this video, I learned a lot from it! I started getting into Hololive around the end of 2020 so I didn't know much about Sora's backstory. While I don't watch Sora's streams very often, when I do I appreciate how relaxing it is as well as her cheerful and silly personality. She has this cute girl next door vibe to her that just makes you want to see her succeed at whatever she sets her heart to. I hope she does manage to realize her dream of performing at Yokohama Arena some day!

Wooooah i think i love the video already, I'm crying i always have a HUGE respect for Sora
This was put together extremely well! I started following Sora later in her career but I after listening to her music and learning about how hard she has worked over the years, how could I not respect her! So this was a very nice little recap of her journey and achievements. Thank you for this! Keep being awesome!
sora and kizuna ai is like water, water is not always the most popular drinks, but every other drinks originated from water and even if it's not your favorite, it's still good
Thank you for making this video. It is well researched as expected. Truly the greatest idol. I am so proud to be a Soratomo
The fact that playful imps like Pekora and Mikochi drew the line at leaving Soda-chan alone from their pranks , told you how respectable Soda-chan is. .. Even Towawa never challenge her to the right of "sama" title
素敵な動画をありがとうこざいます!
6:32 WAIT, THATS WHY THERES A RANDOM SPARTAN IN THAT MV, THIS ALL MAKES SENSE NOW
素敵な動画をありがとうございます!住んでいる場所や国、言語に関係なくこうしてそらちゃんを応援出来る事を誇りに思います。

Thanks for the nice and great video!
I was very impressed and want to continue to support Sora more and more. Hope to see Soratomo overseas someday! Thank you so much!
This was a really sweet video
Thank you for creating this Soratomos
What can i say i am very proud of her.Being able to see Sora chan achieve many successes during this time gives me a lot of inspiration to continue working hard.
I got into Hololive around 3 years ago soon, and been following Sora for a large portion of that too. And man, it really does make you proud to see how far she's come, and it makes me so happy to see how well respected she is by the general Vtuber community as well. And even if a large part of the other Hololive girls have surpassed her in numbers, they never forget to pay respects to her for starting it all. Cuz Hololive literally wouldn't exist without Sora and A-chan.
Wonderful Video, Sora-chan's stream is a nice comfy place either listening to her singing or watching her do stuffs.
As a casual viewer, all I can say is: Massive respect for Sora!
she has mentioned before that she uses more simple and talks slower sometimes to try to help non native JP speakers to understand her. just really reinforces the type of person she is
She was always my favorite girl, but this made me happy to know she's still around and just makes me wanna draw her
要点や情報が少ないであろう活動当初のことまでしっかり把握されててよくまとまってる。素晴らしいです!!
Sora love!
So much so regarded high that she had to go through a phase of being called the 'Goddess' back in 2020.
I’m not crying your crying
She's an absolute legend, a true goddess! I could write an essay on her!
懐かしい映像をたくさん見ることができました。
ありがとうございます。
I'm not crying, you are
Hype! Thanks to those on the team for the video~
As someone who didnt discover hololive until last year, its fascinating to hear Sora's journey. Many thanks to her and A-chan for their perserverence!
I was very impressed with the great video. I cried w
The video was full of love.
Talent, tenacity, hardwork, voice, attitude, manner, look
All perfect element for the perfect idol 😢
Thank you for this video, it’s so well written and produced!
