First, second, and third. What did y'all think of the kit? Is it something you would pick up? Also let me know what you thought about the review. Have a great day!
What's with the reupload? Anyway I feel like the kit itself is a good customizing base but kinda unnecessary due to gm/gm and guard frame existing. It looks like a kitbash of said kits as well. For a suit that showed up ONCE for a very short time it seems undeserving compared to machines like the GP-Rase-Two that doesn't have a kit. Also the review was great but I kinda prefer the non panning and fancy shots you'd normally do. You also said it came with beam saber effect parts but failed to mention you modified those to be curved/bent so I hope it doesn't mislead anyone.
@@EclipseKoray the video didn't upload to HD, so I had to re-upload it. I'm always trying different things with my reviews and this was more of a "hands off" approach. I do appreciate your input on preference though. That shows me you value the content :) I've seen many kits not have any screen time in a series or even be relevant, but still manage a retail release. So that doesn't bother me too much. I also think variety plays into this, because I actually prefer this to the GM/GM and Guard Frame.
Mechanical means 'moving'. Pistons, hinges, stuff like that. Structural support isn't mechanical, so technically there is absolutely no mechanical detail behind the shield.
This kit is already in my To-Get list, considering I have the GM/GM and the Guard Frame. I actually think the colors are fine though. At first I didn't like how it looked, but seeing as the coloring is like the 00 Sky Higher Than Sky Phase, I've warmed up to it. And I've actually made the seamlines of the forearms into a panel line.
this is probably the only kit that change my mind from "nah it's just a gramps recolored and more expensive" to "Holy shit , this looks really good and worth my money".
Definitely. I enhanced mine a little further by replacing the hands with one set of hands from the Build Knuckles set, and then gave it a kusarigama/mace weapon from the "30 Minute Missions" weapon sets so that it would have something like the original Gundam's notorious Gundam Hammer.
I already got the guard frame and love that kit, so I'm contemplating if I should get this one too (surely will have to paint it). good review though !! I'm seeing a lot more "content" in the review itself and its always plus for me.
That head looks so bad to me hahaha, thats really my only gripe with it but its enough to be a dealbreaker. Like its been stretched out just a little too much. Opinions, right? I dont need every gunpla that comes out though so I'll live :p Solid review as usual!
I like the sharper lines in the chest and shoulders compared to the normal RX78, it's refreshing. I don't mind the highlighter colours and this kit is super cheap near me atm. I'm gunna pick this up and give it a custom paint job and practice seemlines removal and maybe try my hand at adding some scribe lines too the shoulders as it's something I've been meaning to try and 2019 is all about advancing my skills. Plus this kit looks like it has the same articulation as the Revive which was amazing to pose.
Splice this together with the HG O Gundam ACD and you've got a godlike RX. Anyway, this is all a pretty neat kit, even if most of the torso is just straight up ripped from the GM/GM.
I guess Steve will now be working out so hard just to achieve this kind of body, huh? :p Seriously, it really feels like Grandaddy Gundam went on a diet and hit the GM-I mean-gym so hard; and I love it. If I have one complaint, it’s the shield. Overall, the GM/GM’s shield is just better in terms of looks, given the cross, and function: specifically because it has a handle which you can use for defensive poses and an articulated connection point to the forearm that allows you to either put the shield on the side or bottom of the arm. It kinda puzzles me why didn’t Bandai just carry over that shield to this kit. Otherwise, my hands are really itching to get this kit. Can’t wait for it to be released in my country.
i love it but id definitely swap the torso with that awesome red GM GM torso. the same goes for every similar parts. might also use the 0 gundam head. though i also love this awesome head sculpt. the 0 gundam acts as my gramps. i really cant take the gramps design except for the sd bb senshi and this and 0 gundam which is like an alternate century gramps.
Hmm. Seeing it in action, I have a feeling it would gain a little more oomph if it had extra points to attach accessories to. The GM/GM has that one beat.
The torso and chest are from the GM GM, the arms and legs and joints are from the Guard Frame. The only new parts are the head, skirts, knees, feet and back calf piece and ankle armor anddd shoulders.
@@TheKrowSama it falls apart at the waste. The hands are a joke & had to glue them. Theres no way they would snap.together without breaking. Had to file them and glue. Etc etc etc...

@@EclipseKoray the beam saber being bent is a very old trick used, so I do hope no one believes it comes bent.
@@TheKrowSama I doubt many will believe that, but there have been times where curved beams and effect parts have come in a kit.
thanks for the heads up review Krow....already have the build hands. will buy this kit. posing krow :)
Just want to give props to bandai for the insane amount of mechanical detail behind the shield👌🏻

Simple Answer molded detail then. Either way I’m just glad it isn’t hollow empty space
it seems like this kit is a good way to test your custom building skills. painting, scribing seam line removal etc
I feel like I'm the only one who enjoys that highlighter yellow. It's just so unique and really makes the kit pop on a shelf.

also, quick question: this kit or the HG Grandpa revive ?
The Granddaddy lost some weight and got gud for them Mobile Ho Suits enjoying the MS Strip Joint XD
RX782 except it's a super robot.
My same thoughts
HOLY JESUS, WORTH THE LONG WAIT!!! SUPER PICKING THIS UP

thanks for review this so thoroughly!
looking into my GM/GM I can see a lot of potencial in kitbashing an you conviced me to get one and make my first custom, whish me luck!
Krow sama, noob question: Is the build divers hand parts compatible with this kit?
Yeah, I used them in the video
5:53 is the GBN Gundam bigger than the OO sky?
What about the extra pieces that look like feet guards and things

5:33 How did you bend that beam saber effect?
Hair dryer and shaping it to your liking.

Krow : Idk these legs just have something about them that look good

I was questioning myself if I should get this kit?
I think it's worth the price. Great articulation, good accessories, and fantastic aesthetic.
TheKrowSama All right then.
I'm planning on buying this, but not before giving it a new paintjob
Would pick up this soon
granpa in build rivers ?
What happened to “LittleBigGunpla”
This is what happens when Studio TRIGGER animates the first gundam.
How big is it?
1/144
it looks like made out of candles
Cool
The torso and chest are from the GM GM, the arms and legs and joints are from the Guard Frame. The only new parts are the head, skirts, knees, feet and back calf piece and ankle armor anddd shoulders.
Yes and no. This chest is missing details that are present in the GM/GM. They are the same shape and design though.
@@TheKrowSama
I jist looked at both insteuctions, it is indeed different, even the build for their chest is slightly different.
@@caseyjones8246 yeah, but it is pretty much the same even though it has the minor changes. When I said "new" I just meant it was on a new runner.
Come on now, I liked the colors, but when you said the yellow looks like highliter, I don't know anymore.
I like the look of the head but it's too much of a departure from the original Rx 78-2
Idk why do people hate the color of the yellow but it's my preference
Highlighter yellow just isn't a pleasant looking color. At least to me and others.
It has the exact same as the gm gm chest
Yes and no. This is missing details that are present in the GM/GM. They are the same shape and design though.
The horrible colours and lack of panel lines makes it look awful to me
