10:15 I think he is confusing nicotine here with caffeine. Just some quick research shows that there are not any teas that have high, naturally occurring concentrations of nicotine, but caffeine, yes, there are teas that have enough caffeine that could give him the boost he is speaking of.
tea have nicotine or caffeine 😂 he have confused native English speaker 😂 Our afghan interpreter 😂 was funny 🤣 Hope you have enjoyed your trip in our homeland 😊
I hope you guys have had a great time in the beautiful country of Afghanistan. How did you guys plan your trip to visit Afghanistan from Pakistan? Do you need double visa for Pakistan so you can enter Afghanistan and exit back to Pakistan? I am thinking about visiting Kabul too via Islamabad!
You got me ...😂 How long the arms were back in the day when you tried to wear the Chapan or traditional coat. But as for clearance it's the typical style of it.
The dish with lamb and potatoes, which I believe is called 'Rosh,' is typically cooked slowly over wood and is incredibly delicious. We usually enjoy it with naan and salad. The sugar cane, known as Gor, is often eaten in small pieces alongside unsweetened green tea. The long sleeves of the attarie (Chapan) are a traditional style; people didn't used to have long arms. Cheers
The sad thing is nobody teache you to eat the Afghan way I'm Afghan living in London I know if you learn to eat as Afghan you will love it and many thanks for visiting Afghanistan love you ❤❤❤
10:43 "Why is it served in a bowl and not like a cup" That is a great question! Which honestly I myself dont have a definite answer too, but you travel anywhere, the Middle East, south asia (im not sure about China) traditionally it's always served in small bowls, so what happens is the tea pot keeps the tea/coffee hot and you drink in small bowl portions. There is NO limit to how many small bowls you want to drink, usually, the Tea Pot is guarded by a server(usually the host), who keeps an eye at everyones' bowls, if its nearing to be empty, the server pours more and more, until when the drinker is full and wants no more, he/she MUST put their hand over the bowl to indicate that he/she is full otherwise the tea/coffee will come non-stop. The idea is the beverage is kept hot in the tea pot, and drinking smaller portions of hot beverage repeatedly is rlly enjoyable, someone like your host who enjoys tea has experienced this hospitality and when you experienced such a thing, you will be hooked to drinking tea. I recommend you crashing into a "majlis" or gathering of men, and you will see it yourself.
Same in China, we use the small bowls, so called tea bowls, the most, instead of cups. The use of tea pot is also very similar as you described. One difference I noticed is in Middle East, the pots are generally metalic, perhaps made from copper. In China, ceramic or porcelain are more common.
if you think about it, a cup of fluid liquid is 8 ounces, which would “fit” perfectly into this size of a receptacle. We in the West give arbitrary names to things that look like a bowl, and use adjectives like small/mini bowl, or for things like “dinner fork,” or “dessert spoon.” It really all boils down to cultural/regional semantics.
@@zhaoyangjing8418 If so, then that's the right way of drinking tea since y'all invented it if I'm not wrong! No wonder why it's drank this way in most traditions who have adopted it.
A bit disappointed with this video you two. Firstly, you were not "dining with the Taliban" as the title suggests. These guys were not Taliban but a couple of very nice Afghans. Very few people in Afghanistan are actually Taliban and you'll know them when you meet them because they're the guys with the big guns and won't smile at you very much. Second, very disappointing that you have chosen to show us yet again having a meal in a restaurant when there must be so much more to Kabul than just food. Too many of your recent videos have been pretty much focussed on food and less and less on the locations you are visiting. Can you please tell us more about what you are seeing and a bit less on the food you are eating. Sorry to be so critical as we have generally enjoyed your earlier videos in China but this one is not what we had been hoping for in regards your trip to Afghanistan.
Our next video will be exploring Kabul but please understand that this is one of the most difficult places we have ever filmed due to Taliban presence and not being allowed to film women in a public place
@@Alan_and_Shannonit’s still does make it right and I’m actually very disappointed how you could call those hospitalize people the TALIBAN just to get views
Ok, so this is interesting. About him saying there's nicotine in the tea. I didn't think that was true, but yes there are trace amounts. Up to 0.7 mcg. That is a very small amount, but if you drink a lot, it will add up. So, I think he's right, that it can be addictive in a culture that drinks a large amount of tea each day. It would probably take quite a while to build up an addiction, but I think it's possible.
I have very mixed feeling about this. On the one hand I am glad the county seems to be peaceful after the war ended, on the other hand I am very concerned about how the women are treated there. I am sorry if I miss something, two videos in and I don't see a sign of local female anywhere.
I have never heard about this restaurant before i am sure most people have not as well, thats why it seemed empty the other restaurants are usually packed with families and yes women as well. This restaurant seems to be made for foreigners exclusively back in the days before the sаvаgеs took over if you watch the beginning of the video the small security gate was on the ground looks like they recently took it off and opened it for the public and yes women don’t walk around much like the old days not because they are not allowed to but because the normal people are not in the mood anymore and are always pissed off knowing the tаlibаn are now in charge been this way for the past few years. Everyone is just praying for these sаvаges to get lost and things go back to norma. How can someone enjoy something knowing the people that tried to kill us and did killеd for the past 20 years are now roaming around with us and a lot of strange people have been pouring in to the cities from remote places looking strange which makes the cities look unorganized and dirty specially by wearing those traditional clothes and their behaviors most have came from pashtun side of the Pakistan who have never been to Afghanistan before and starting to make it look like south asia. Let’s hope for the better days ✌🏻
