My father was govt.servnt...co.opretive..socity...at Peshawar....I.born..in.civil.quartar..19..A...i came to.abbottabad...in.my Childe hood...about eight year old....but still...I can.nt. For got this lovely city...many time I make visit..to Peshawar...to see..those street .where I play...
Paris of Pathan ?...lol..why do call Paris ? Britishers were always compare Indian (1930s) cities with their cities. Peshawar is older than Paris, Berlin, London etc even older than whole Europe..Peshawar's old name was Purushpura (city of men)...Afghani converted them into Peshawar (city of Professionals).

Im shocked by the attire of the people in comparison to the present. The attire is very Pashtun in reference to the turbans and especially the pashtun Burqas. Its a shame the city was punjabized.

You got the date wrong. Britain was in PESHAWAR CITY BY 1838. IN 1842 BRITISH SUFFERED A DEFEAT IN AFGHANISTAN. YOUR DATE SAYS PESHAWAR UNDER BRITISH RULE 1849 IS WRONG.
