When Life Doesn’t Go to Plan…

  • Not even Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk have everything go their way all the time. Setbacks, obstacles, mistakes and failures are inevitable for anyone daring to achieve anything. That is just part of being alive in this spectacular and unpredictable world we live in.
    Inevitably, we will feel regret. But when we dwell on regret, and when it prevents us from moving on and living our lives, then are a few things we can do in order to reframe our failures so we see them as lessons. We can see obstacles as opportunities. And we can turn past failures into the building blocks of our dreams. In today's TH-cam video, I share how to do exactly that.

    The worst overarching regret is realizing how much of one's life one lived in distraction, illusion and unconsciousness. Why didn't one wake up sooner, decades ago, before messing so much up and piling on so much grief and remorse?

    Today I saw a title of a song called "You ruined my life" I immediately thought, it's not your life, it's just a situation, experience or circumstance. It's not your life. I hope more and more people realise that they are using the word life incorrectly all the time. They are usually talking about an experience, situation or circumstance. They are usually never talking about their actual life.

    Thank you Todd.......this was the medicine I needed, felt as though you were speaking directly to me. Fear and regret have left me without a home and roots in my 60's and that is hard to believe it will not be forever, especially now with the ever rising cost of even a modest home. This will definitely be one I listen to over and over, a balm for my soul. 🙏💜

      When you are going through the dark night of the soul it can be very difficult. I think I’m coming out of mine, but I’m also very aware of what is about to happen on earth, you would have to be completely emotionally void to not feel fear over it. God help us all

      What would you say to a young person if they told you those words? Acknowledge the inner pain. Pick up the inner child, hold them. Tell them everything is going to be ok. Tell them, right now, you are ok. Tell them you love them. Then just hold the child compassionately with tender love. Sit there until the heavy feelings leave. They will leave. The child who is afraid is you. God is with you and will walk through this ever changing period of time in your life. Be gentle and kind to yourself. You need love. No judgement, not a condemning, but pure acceptance and love, where you are.
      Perhaps, listen to
      'Its Ok" by Lauren Ostrowski Fenton. 🙏

In a social media world filled with spiritual judgement and anger fueled shorts here covered over with a trending song, finding your channel only as recent as this year has been one of the best things to happen. Your messages are so beautifully thought provoking, and delivered in such a way that any one who takes the time to listen and absorb can only ever improve themselves, be kind to ALL and find peace. Words are so powerful and you put them together in a way that is so inspiring ❤

    I can’t forgive myself for not going to see a loved one more often .and it was his funeral on Monday .I love and miss him so much . I regret not going and feel so guilty .It is the final word as I can’t change it now it’s too late and now I have to live without him .

      It's very difficult I know. In the moment you made decisions based on what you felt and knew. Now, you have new thinking and feelings. So, today's decisions are not based on yesterday's feelings and knowing. We all would choose differently if we got the chance to do it again. But based on today, how will you live and choose so you can know that every turn, you thought it through, and made the best decision(s).
      🤔 I believe everything is as it is. We choose how to go through the experience. So, maybe, you weren't to see him what you call the last time. The last time, was before that. It's ok. Let it be ok. You chose what was right for you in that moment. No 2 moments are ever the same.
      🙏

    Hi Todd
    Once again given us something amazing to feed our soul. How timely is this message at a point in my life when I was ready to hear it. Regrets that I wasn't good enough Mom by someone else's standards. Regrets that I could have done more to change their mind set.
    And the Regrets, that I put on myself that if I stayed, I could have changed their mind.
    All the wouldn't couldn't , shouldn't
    Thank you for allowing me to see now( 3 1/2 years) later that at the time, It wouldn't haved ended any differently. Because the circumstances was already decided.
    I was just fighting too hard to not let go so that I wouldn't have regret.
    And to hear you validate that I don't need to allow myself to be consumed by all of it, is truly starting to help me be in such a much better place. Bless your heart Todd. 💜🫶

      Because, when you finally get through it, you actually have something to give to others. Encouragement, hope and compassion.
      This is how we develop compassion. This is how we rid ourselves of old baggage . But, it will all be useful. It will help others. There is no greater feeling experience than to help a brother, because you know exactly what they are going through. 🙏

    How do you let go of a past mistake? Life continues to fwd a mistake and taint my new life chapters. It's out of my control, when a past boss continues to Slander your name! Destroy thy reputation. Ive tried to let go, yet it continues to haunt me, how to move on n let go?

    • @ToddPerelmuter
      @ToddPerelmuter  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      It really takes trusting the universe that the universe has bigger plans in store for you, even if we can't see them right now. Instead of trying to do something, let the universe do it for you

    • @Ks-di3xs
      @Ks-di3xs 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes that is hard to let go of. One time I was being slandered so severely. It was hard for me to believe that the people I helped were the ones who were doing it. I prayed over the situation. The Lord told me not to touch it. That meant for me to just leave it alone, and not try to justify myself or rectify the situation with any of the people. That He alone was going to take care of it for me. It was very hard, but I trusted God. Within 6 months, every single person who heard slander against me came to me and told me how they did not believe the lies. It actually had a reverse effect. One person even said they listened to me on the radio weekly program so that they could see for themselves the bad things that were being said. They called to tell me, that instead of finding how bad I was, they got healed of old very deep wounds. Now that is exciting. And this really built my faith and trust that God will handle it, and will turn it around.
      It also gives us a chance to inquire of ourselves if any of the slander is true. That gives us an opportunity to make changes privately on ourselves.
      God bless you and may you let go. You know who you are. That's all that matters.

    Not all choices we make is our fault. Some people have circumstances where they involved with legal business who lied even in legal documents to take advantage of others who are suffering today. Are you saying it’s my fault that I trusted someone who provided me with the true legal documentation ? And now I have let go allowing them to strive in exchange of my life on earth ? Only weak people letting go there dreams and that’s not healthy either.
