Bro, I’ve been having my Tololoche two years already never find good videos. It’s the first time I see you videos. Keep it up, bro. I’m starting getting back.
Im curious about your endpin, i have an adjustable metal kind on my DB but ive seen the fully wooden tolo endpins recently. What do you do if the tolo is not the right height? do they tend to slip? Do you ever have trouble carrying it to gigs without tripping (sense it isnt put up i assume)? Thanks so much!!!!! Love youre channel!
Mine is adjustable luckily! For the fully wooden one that is set to a particular height I would assume that people either swap them out or shave them down? It would be really annoying to carry and play if its way taller than you haha. And thank you for the support!
@@NKWoodworks Tololoches are just smaller double basses, used mostly with nylon strings and tuned in A more than E. They are pretty much the same. It's like a Classical guitar vs a steel string dreadnought.
Hey I've been watching your videos and have a quick question: I have a 1/2 tololoche and just changed to selene strings. Could these also tune in ADGC? EADG seems too low and undefined and doesn't sound good. I'm up for any tips 👍
Whats good bro! I don't unfortunately bro. I would just recommend you make sure that it's planted flat and flush with the top of the tolo and not slanted any way or crooked. It should be in line with the F holes and straight. Just be careful tightening the strings because that will put excessive tension on a certain side and make it easier for it to slip. Also when playing don't pull it so hard, you don't need to yank it to get a good sound just pluck and hit it gently and it shouldn't fall off.
A root note is the note that we build scales or chords on while playing songs. In order to align the tololoche with other instruments, we try to find the root note of the chord other instruments are playing. If a guitar player is playing a C major chord, as bass players we find and play a C root note, and usually play the 5th thats taken from that roots major scale! Even if it was a C minor chord instead, we still play that C root note.
Best tololoche video on TH-cam 👍
Appreciate it homie!

@alexisanayaoficial what's the difference between this instrument and a regular double bass?

try it out and see how it feels bro! if it doesnt feel right you can always try tuning in 4ths from Fa, or sol!

I have the shadow rockabilly bro! I'll make a video soon showing my settings and explaining what each setting does so you can find the sound you like
