They say that sports are built on rivalries…
And in many ways this is true. Yes, everyone likes to see their team win the championship…
But the reality is that only one team per year can win it all… But it is the mini-battles during the season that keep the fans coming back for more-knowing that more than likely their favorite team won’t be winning the Lombardi Trophy.
In many ways, these longstanding back and forths between two teams are the lifeblood of fandom-even if one team repeatedly dominates the other.
And some of these matchups are, honestly, pretty damned lopsided.
Let’s take a look at 10 teams that have been repeatedly OWNED by the same team over the years!

An interesting pick would be the Broncos over the Browns. The Broncos actually have a 24-6 record against the Browns. So the Broncos pretty much own the Browns.

Fun fact: the Raiders never lost at Texas Stadium in Dallas, going 3-0. They quickly lost twice at the Cowboys' new place, but won there last year.
The Falcons were 6-0 at San Diego vs. the Chargers, but won in L. A. their latest meeting. Only 2-2 at home.
I knew about the Eagles-Jets sweep. The Jets were 8-1 against the Vikings at one point, but have lost the last two.
The Bears are 5-23 against Aaron Rodgers. As a Vikings fan I cannot imagine how bitter that must taste.
They swept the Cheesies in 2015; ironically, every NFC North team beat em at Lambeau that year 🤣🤣🤣🤦🏾

How about rivalries that were one sided but are now close or reversed?
Bills and Dolphins, Miami lead the all time series 23-4-1 after 1979 but has come roaring back 54-39 1980-present.
Titans and Texans. Tennessee lead all time series 12-4 after 2009. Tennessee now leads all time series 23-21.
Saints falcons, Atlanta lead all time series 44-30 after 2005, currently tied at 55.
Rams 9ers, rams lead all time series 39-19-2 after 1979, San Francisco leads currently 79-68-3 which includes a 29-19-1 mark in the 21st century
Pats Steelers, Pittsburgh lead the all time series 12-5 in the 20th century, New England is 14-4 since 2000.
The one I enjoy the most. The Ravens owning the Browns. It's both hilarious and depressing at the same time. Even when the Browns manage to be a good team, they still can't beat Big Brother.
What's even more messed up is that the Ravens use to BE the Browns.

Was kind of hoping for an honorable mention for the Packers against the Bears. Since 1992 Green Bay has gone 46-15 against Chicago (Perhaps not coincidentally, 1992 was the year a guy by the name of Brett Favre landed in Titletown).

The total rivalry is still at 104-95-6 in favor of Green Bay though. With Favre and Rodgers the packers have been completely dominant the past few years, but historically it’s still a lot closer.
New England is title town. Green Bay needs to let go of the past.
Chiefs are currently 15-0 against DEN in the mahomes era, though id bet DEN still leads the series because of Elway.
As of 4/15/2024, the Chiefs have winning records against all three AFC West opponents. The Chargers are the closest at only 11 games under .500

Since 2010, the Jacksonville Jaguars have been 10-3 against the Colts in Jacksonville. JaguarGator9 recently did a video on the current eight-game win streak the Jaguars have against them at home.

Tom Brady is 24-12 in his career vs Miami, minus the 1 with Tampa Bay, that’s 23-12.
However, in their all-time record vs each other, Miami leads the series 60-54.
So while N.E has had the favor in recent time, the Dolphins killed them before Tom Brady. And now that Tom Brady has left of Tampa, Miami is starting to win again over the Patriots.

Eagles all-time record is 5-0 against them, but at the same time the Texans are a newer franchise so it makes sense.

Miami Dolphins leads their overall series against the Arizona Cardinals 10-3-0 and until 2004 the Cards had never beaten the Dolphins and only beat them on time in Miami by one point to beat them that first time 24-23 but the last two times they faced each other the Dolphins beat the Cardinals.
