- If you live in New York City one spectacular way of starting the Christmas Holiday Season is to go Rockefeller Center, and see the Radio City Music Hall's Christmas Spectacular Show featuring the Radio City Rockettes. 2020 has been an unsusal year due to the Covid 19 Virus, and Radio City Music Hall cancelled their Live Performances because of this epidemic. However, the Christmas Spirit continues to move on, so here is your ringside seat to see Christmas Spectacular from previous performances. So sit back and relax and enjoy the Radio City Rockettes as they perform some of their legendary dance numbers to bring you into the Holiday Spirit. My youngest daughter was born 100 percent hearing impaired..When she was little she would dance to vibration of music. After multiple surgeries she received the gift of hearing. For Christmas we had tickets for Radio City . 2nd row center . When the organs played she was mesmerized. When the orchestra came up she screamed with delight. And when the rockets came on she was overjoyed. It's a memory that will stay with her the rest of her life

Radio City is the place to go to during the Christmas Holiday Season. I totally agree with you that the Radio City Music Halls Rockettes are a National Treasure.

How divisive and convoluted
It was a great production. The “work” these young ladies put into their dancing and singing is seen by how precise they are. This is not a political rally…so I would say for a period of time put you negativity away and enjoy the production. I loved that they had the Nativity.

Wow!! The Rockettes, the Santas, singers, and orchestra were superb! I wish i was there in Rockefeller Square, seeing it live. I love the kicks and precision of each dancer. Can you imagine how long it takes to learn how to dance like that? The last part about Jesus's birth was beautiful. What a wonderful show! Thank you for uploading this to TH-cam. I could watch this over and over again.

This production is absolutely wonderful. Everyone works very hard during their rehearsals and pull up and read about the rules that they have to follow. They deserve the biggest kudos due all of them. I have seen quite a few of other nationalities in their productions. We are all humans and children of our Lord....lest not forget.

I'm sure it's amazing in person but it's beautiful to me on video! I love the present costumes with the adorable bow in the back! These ladies are awesome!!!
What a wonderful way to set off the holiday season.My Mom loved Raido city music hall and brought my sisters and I several times . I have strayed away, not wanting to bring up the memories i watched today from home and i enjoyed every moment. the birth of Jesus had me in tears. Thank you !!!

I don`t know what they pay the Rockettes, but they work well together, they work hard and the have a precision in their movements that many a military force would envy. They are worth every dollar.

My parents use to take me and my 2 sisters to this show which back in the day was followed by a movie. This was after waiting on line for what seemed forever because it was always so cold out. It was MAGICAL! Afterwards we'd always go to a wonderful NYC dinner with all the trimmings! Last time we went was about 10 years ago, both my parents have passed now, but the memory of them taking us just about every year to Radio City Music Hall will last forever! The Nativity scene still gets me to tear up! Those live camels and sheep etc! MAGICAL! If you have kids, take them to this show just once, it will live in their memories forever! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

These Rockettes can compete and beat any Military Male Drill Team with Their Toy Soldier Routine. If only they could twirl. Not a Rifle and Bayonet but Candy Canes .

When I was young and working for Holland America Line in the late 1960's as a Dutch young man ,very very first time to New York, my very first visit was to see a show at the Radio City Music Hall and saw The Rocketts in a very spectacular show, until I saw your clip of the XMAS show in 2020, it brought back memories for me of the late 60's, those were the days my friend..............!!!!!!, Thank you for the wonderful 1 hour clip.

If you enjoy it you have to see it in person. I got to see it got the first time this year, a childhood dream come true. But this video does not do the show or the rockettes Justice. It was AMAZING. I want to say thank you so much for posting this to youtube! I remembered when I was kid living in New Jersey back in the 90's, our school teacher from Hackensack used to take us to Radio City in NYC to go see this show as a field trip to as a way to celebrate Christmas. Plus the Nativity scene at the end almost looks like a painting on stage. I never forgot how magical this show was and it's great that people still get to see it.

I was delighted with the traditional rocketes high kicking and timed movements. The Santa dance was hilarious. I had a friend who worked as one of the ballet dancers in the show who were part of the relief for the rocketts while they were changing. A full make up change at the beginning with all the costume changes are crazy backstage let alone trying to get a bit of water and a little breather if possible.. It is fun to see all the different forms of dance as well as the sets for the bus and ice skating New York Christmas ensemble. There was some fun lighting too. I was thrilled to see Christ was not cut out of Christmas and what a lovely portrayal. I felt like I was watching Christmas cards in motion. Tasteful and reverent. Thank you for that.
I was so thrilled to see the tradition still there. Your review is perfect! Anyone who's taken dance classes realizes the work involved making this look easy and uniform, what the Rockettes are all about.

This is quite a show! everything is so creative, but we were especially touched and warmed by the nativity scene sequence with Hark the Herald Angels Sing. Wow, that was well planned and so lovely. I hope we can see it in person.
You really have to come to NYC and see it in person, this video is nice but its 100x more mesmerizing seeing it for real.
When I saw that, I was about age 10. And portable video equipment didn't exist.

Yes, I agree with Jonathan that the shows are worth watching. My daughter and I have been going a few times. After this pandemic, we will certainly be back to watch. These dancers are very discipline and have spent many hours practicing the choreography. It is just an amazing production.
Radio City was a huge part of my childhood. We lived in Brooklyn, so it was a short train ride to midtown. That beautiful theatre, it was magical. The Rockettes were the best part. Total perfection.

I went to see the rockettes in Las Vegas about 15 years ago and that show was the best Christmas show I’ve ever been to. It was even better than Mariah Carey’s Christmas show. If you can attend just once do it!

I remember going to the show and the movie seeing "Gone with the Wind" and crying when Scarlett beat the horse and he died. We would stand on line what seemed to be like forever because it was so cold. And me and my sisters in our new white leotards and black patent leather shoes. We had so much fun! After the show and movie we went out to dinner then home to burbs of NY. Such a magical memory and time. Last time I went was in my 30's when we brought one of our nephews. I asked him later what was his favorite part, thinking he would say all the dancing Santa's. But he said "I liked the Blue Girls!" aka The Rockettes! lol! Such a wonderful experience to go see the Radio City music hall show! Can't wait till NY and America is back to normal!

All my life I've known of the Rockettes and the Radio City Music Hall, but being a native of San Francisco meant we had other traditions, so I have never seen it. I am so grateful to Jonathan Lane, or whoever taped this program, because I'm too old to travel now, but it was grander, gaudier and more gorgeous than I could ever have imagined it. A girl, Louella Hiener, from my hometown tried out actually got in! They gave her a an actual parade. But then she got pregnant before she could even do her first show. I decided to try out after that. I showed up to New York City with $87 dressed all in white like a nurse. Well I did my audition but I didn’t get in. ;(
Turns out on my scorecard I got a dance ten, looks three!

I've heard that the auditions aren't easy, and it may take you some time. Looking at the Rockettes on stage perform is like clockwork, and that takes a lot of practice. You can alway go back and addition again. Good Luck and Happy Holidays.

@@042749 yes I want to go this year it’s a tradition but New York isn’t the safest place right now but I’m trying to convince them to take me. I know adults have to be vaccinated to see the show but since they just came out with the vaccine for kids do you know if kids have to be vaccinated to see the show?
@@xAG0NYx definitely the rockettes. It’s kinda expensive this year but if you have never seen them you need to go! I promise the rockettes are worth your money!!
