I have never seen someone remove a part so carefully yet aggressive 😂
Gotta get the job done!
Great video guys! It is going to help a lot of people out
I'm about to get my first chevy pickup (95) and going to do tow mirrors , great job on the video
Glad we could help!
Thanks for the heads up!
I got my mirrors from another supplier. Terrible instructions so I am glad that your video was posted. Many thanks for the help 🙏🏻
Glad we could help.
Probably one of the best how to videos. 👍🏽 job. Just bought a 96 dually with these mirrors but none of the lights were hooked up so definitely going to do this
Glad we could help.
@@boostautoparts .can this tow mirror also be installed on a chevy s10?
@@mr.eervianlesmana9263 Unfortunately this will not work on an S10
@@boostautoparts .does anyone sell a tow mirror specifically for 2000 chevy s10?
@@mr.eervianlesmana9263 Not that we are aware of
Yep, they're the best! I ordered Boost Tow Mirrors last night for my 2006/2007 Duramax LBZ and can't wait to get them on the Truck. I was sure to order the high-output led...
Its worth it! I ordered them on my mirrors, i don't think the normal ones would provide much night vision.
Seems way easier than I anticipated
Was that a diode you put for the orange wire connections? Cause i definitely didnt get that little black wire with the box on it
Can you tell me what time stamp in the video you're referencing?
Works better than I thought they would solid mirrors and easy to install
Easy?
There is zero room behind the mirror, and the stock wire is way too short! Might be my truck only🤨
Mine don't have all the features yours has. But I figured out from watching you exactly what I needed to know. Thanks! The instructions sent with mine have absolutely horrible directions so wasn't exactly sure how to install the supporting bracket.
Glad we could help
Thanks for showing us how.
Glad we could help!
Heat shrink and soldering give a nice end product. Butt connect works as well
You're right!
Just a heads up to those considering buying these mirrors: they will shake on the 88-98's. I had a set of Chinese ones and Boost Auto Parts ones. They both shake all the same. It's not terrible but if you're anal about it, the shaking will annoy you. I will say that customer support is much better with Boost Auto Parts, and the options for customization are much better.
Ya I just did the cheap ebay ones they shake a tiny bit and can't ever get the mirrors adjusted exactly how I want plus don't know how to wire the defrost up they sent the wrong wiring harness diagram. I took my mirrors apart and sanded all the textured plastic down smooth and colored matched mine on my 98 they look sick.
@@taylorh3930 did you ever figure out how to get the defrost working?
I remember these when they were “NBS” trucks.
How times change!
Did you have to wire the tow mirror lights in? Or is there a plug in the door they plug in? Mines a 94 with power doors and i was wondering if i ordered turn signal tow mirrors, would i have to wire them in for the turn signals on the mirrors to work
You will have to wire the lighting features in - this video covers how to do it.
My only question is for the reverse lights, you tap into that green wire than where’s the other end go too?
Goes to the mirrors. Give our team a call at 765-831-2830 with any questions.
Where did you run the reverse light wire ? 🤔 you show where it goes which is great but didn’t show how to run it there
You take it under the hood then along the frame rail.
@@boostautoparts perfect easy enough ! That’s exactly what i was thinking, thank you 🤟
I got these mirrors from spec d and the did not send any of the wiring connections with them I am just wondering in you could list all the wiring connections?
We sell the fused splices by themselves on our website, or you can give our team a call at 765-831-2830
Great video but what tools did you use to actually tighten the bolts down
A flex head 10mm is needed for the one bolt.
I just got the mirrors I ordered in yesterday and as I was eyeballing the connectors I noticed the connectors for the tow mirrors are completely different from was on my truck. I have 8 pin connectors and these are 4 pin, but I chose the only option mirrors the website had for a 1999 K1500 Suburban
SUV's & truck's with mirror defrost utilize a different connector. Contact our support team and they can get you squared away.
If anyone is reading this after the fact and has OEM mirror defrost, please contact our team prior to purchase to ensure you get the correct mirrors.
Seems like a whole lotta work for just mirrors. Are there basic ones? I don't care much for blinking mirrors. Thanks.
At this time we only offer mirrors with lights for the OBS trucks
Are they manual adjusting or will I get to keep my powered adjusting function like I have on my stock mirrors?
All of our mirrors are power adjusting.
If mine didn't come with the turn signal box connector thing could I just use taps to tap into the blue wires
Yes
what if i have tripod mirrors and want to convert over?
We don't have that upgrade path clearly defined as those style mirrors are drilled into the door in numerous places
How do you connect the window defroster?
The C/K trucks aren't offered with mirror defrost.
But aren't the mirrors that your selling heated?
great video. Just wondering: where do you attach the white wires?
They get attached underneath the truck to the reverse light feed.
Did you need new led relays or anything ?? I’ve made sure my mirrors work on a constant power source but when I hook the mirror wire to the splice connector for the passenger side the led in the mirror never comes on?
If you get just power adjusting and turn signals, do you just have to plug them into the stick plug and you’re done?
The only feature that is typically plug and play on an OBS truck is power adjust if originally equipped.
Boost Auto Parts ok that’s all I wanted. I was gonna bypass the turn signal. Thank you
I bought them but I have a question my truck is manual doors and mirrors is there a way or switch I have to get to make them work?
You can wire in the lights and manually adjust the mirrors
So you can’t buy or something to use the power mirrors? @boostautoparts ?
@@devinw2533 We do not have an upgrade path to add power adjust
I just need to know where the purple and red wires terminate to please help!
Our mirrors do not come equipped with a purple wire. We would recommend reaching out to whoever you bought your mirrors from for guidance.
what should you use instead of a trim piece if you dont have one?
Screw driver with a cloth wrapped around it to protect the surface you're prying on also works.
Are the front amber lights just signal lights they don’t stay running?
We offer them as signal only or signal & running light.
Are the orange wires going to the headlight switch for the heating?
No, those are for the running lights. Our OBS mirrors are not equipped with defrost because the OBS trucks weren't offered with defrost. We can offer it as an optional upgrade if you call us (765-831-2830)
Hey guys! So i have a problem. I have a 2018 chevrolet 2500 diesel and i have one time replaced the stock mirrors, with non power folding tow mirrors. These mirrors worked fine besides the reverse pods never turning on in reverse. I now have a new set of mirrors that are power folding and everything works including the folding, but my running lights on the back of the mirrors dont turn on besides when a door is open or when I’m using my blinker. My reverse pods are also not working. Please help! what type of harness do i need?
Hey Cody,
You need our modify door harness kit. Here is the link: boostautoparts.com/collections/wiring-harnesses/products/pnp
Feel free to give us a call if you have any furthere questions.
How did you run the white wires to the light green wire
You run it under the hood then along the frame rail.
@@boostautoparts my white wire is too short on the right side. Do you guys have pictures or videos of how you ran that wire under the hood
@@rburciaga You can splice the RH white wire to the LH wire.
@@boostautoparts ok thank you, also my truck has a rubber piece between the door and mirror does that need to be left on my mirrors are being very squeaky and I thought that may be the problem.

can u please help???? mine has a purple wire and light blue..... where does the purple go?
Our mirrors do not utilize a purple wire, so unfortunately we are unable to assist with this. If you get our mirrors you can just follow this video for an easy install.
@@boostautoparts ok do u think sense one is light blue and the other is purple id just tap the purple into the dark blue?
@@VaL-bw7vb Unfortunately we aren't sure the function of those wires since they aren't from us. Sorry about that!
Can u adjust both top and bottom mirrors electronically even though I have the regular mirror not towing mirror
Only the top mirror is power adjustable
thanks so much solved my problems
I’ve been searching all day and I can’t find the answer....does anyone know how to run the white wire (reverse) thru the floor to the bottom of the truck so I can tap into the light green wire for the reverse? Please help.....I did see a light green wire next to the light blue and dark blue wires for the signals. Is that the same light green wire for the reverse?
You will need to route out through the firewall, then down to the frame rail.
Thanks I appreciate it
What if my wires are black, red and purple
Then the mirrors are not from us - so we'd recommend you contact the manufacture of your mirrors for installation instructions.
Can you tap Into the light green under the steering wheel
Unfortunately not
@@boostautoparts What do you think about using these to connect the wires?

How do you stop the turn signal and park like from flashing differently?
Our mirrors come integrated with modules pre-installed for the front light to operate as running light and signal.
Is there a reverse wire inside the cab??
On 1995-1998 trucks you will need to tap reverse like the video shows. This is the easiest way to get this working.
El_ Zamudio THX
would these still work if my stock mirrors aren't powered?
Yes, you just wouldn't be able to utilize the power adjust feature.
@@boostautoparts so lights would just be wired to my day runners and turn signals, and its that simple?
@@dylanalli9175 You would wire the lighting features as this video shows.
Did you level the mirrors yourself?
Generally speaking, all mirrors except 99-07 GM sit 'level'. The reason the 99-07 mirrors tilt up is due to the body lines on the A-Pillar.
If my truck only has manual mirrors... I don't need to remove the entire door panel, correct?
If you wish to wire in the lighting features you will need to.
What are those rims called?
Sorry, we aren't sure.

How does the reverse wire get wired in? Is that the light green wire?
Yes. Reverse is tapped to the light green wire under the vehicle near the fuel filter.
Boost Auto Parts I have a 97 Chevy and I’m stumped where should I run the revers light wire out from the cab.
@@etaled You can run it through the firewall near the brake pedal.
@@boostautoparts oh ok

We would recommend purchasing our mirrors to ensure everything works properly.
@@boostautoparts mine didn't come with that wire. Left with 2 blue wires for signals but don't have the connector and doesn't give any description

Ford mirrors will NOT fit on your Chevrolet.

wym signal only
We offer mirrors that are turn signal only (no running light feature). Give our team a call at 765-831-2830 with any questions.
Obs Chevy Silverado went until 99. 99 is a half year
99 and 2000 both had obs(gmt400) and gmt 800 nbs.
Well i dont have an orange wire i guess that kinda pisses me off
You will only have the orange wire if you purchased mirrors from us that are signal & running light or switchback. If you purchased signal only mirrors you won't have an orange wire (the orange wire is for running light).
How can I hook them up to work w the running lights with no orange cable?
If you opted for running lights when purchasing from us you would have the orange wire. If not, you'll need to add the feature using one of our harnesses. Give our team a call at 765-831-2830 so they can get you setup with the correct parts.
