it took you 46 minuets from saying "a litle bit od detailing nothing to crazy" to major detialing, just saying lol. still a brilliant video as always very entertaining.
The creator doesn't seem to have let the water simulation run long enough. There are several places i see is flooded, also how the land is just above the level of the water. Hope it doesn't backfire eventually.
I’ve been watching you for so many years now I know not to believe when you say "I’m not going to detail as much". I love that you do though, gives the city life imo.
The area was the intended destination for those following the "Oregon Trail"... unless they died of dysentery, drowned while trying to ford a river, or otherwise got... um... sidetracked...
I went to school in a small college town called Monmouth. Small college town surrounded by farmland. There was never anything to do, but it was quaint and peaceful, and I miss it every so often. Also, allow a gap between the road and crops. Usually, there’s drainage ditches or at least fences between roads and private properties.
Vineyards and orchards would be cool to see fill those big plots. The Enchanted Forest would be a deep cut name if you get the chance to build a park in the woods.
You can double click on a section of road without building it out to get a node in a spot you need it, (i.e: at the elementary school, just double clicking on the spot where you wanted the crosswalk will add a node there, then you can add in a crosswalk)

The one thing Cities Skylines always got wrong to me (other than pedestrian walking) is that modern cities typically pop up around some type of major economy source. At least that is my understanding of the last 300 years or so of city growth. That economy can be anything from factories being built up along shipping lanes to large military installations having more and more residential and commercial being built around them. Yet, those are gated in the game. Feels like a missed opportunity even gameplay wise as a way to create identity for your new city from the start.
Born and raised in Oregon, the willamette has many vineyards and a big wine industry! Also terrain would make it a lot more realistic, there are mountains in the distance and lots of small buttes around the valley.
Am I the only one that was thinking at the end, "What are the chances that we get either a district called Linden or Park Park Industrial Park in this series?" as those tend to be the go to staples for ANY CS/CS2 series... Prove me wrong with this series Dylan, lol
Just fell into a later episode. Glad to have you back. I wasn't seeing any noticifications for your videos. We call that type of house "Doublewides" Two mobile homes connected. The angled roof on these is a nice change of pace
You do not make money from industries/commercials other than through taxes, but having specialised industries leaves more money in your city's economy.
I live an hour north of this area, my wife and I like to go for drives there when I'm home and not traveling. If you want Oregonesque, arched and trestle bridges. We love pretty bridges here.
In the US, homes assembled that are a step up from mobile homes are called “modular homes.” I don’t honestly think there’s much of a difference between the two.
Third attempt to watch this video, I keep falling asleep, it’s like some weird asmr lullaby for me or something - starting earlier tonight hoping I’ll make it to the end awake this time 😂
Paradox has their own platform - PDX Mods - where people upload them to. It's available in-game, though usually needs a restart when up install or uninstall anything, and also via a browser. :)
holy crap my dude.....this video perfectly highlights the different play styles people have lol. This is most definitely not my style, i appreciate the planning but more organic is my style, couldnt get through the whole video lol
Absolutely love the name: Columbia County, it feels both rural and metropolitan, simple yet elegant, modern yet reminiscent of another time. Also brings back Emerald (Bay) County vibes!
I'm just starting on this new series and I hope that you don't flatten and smooth everything. Many streamers do and that makes the cities look all the same after a while.
Yeah it's a DLSS issue. Fairly sure it can be fixed by manually swapping out some files to revert to an older DLSS version though, so will do that before recording Part 3!

Yeah the map is beautiful, but it messed me up big time while I was building with the water issues 😢.
Sounds like this is going to be... fun... 😂
you know what life isn't without a little bit of issues
@@ConflictNerduse this to your advantage, make a bunch of overflow canals and stuff

oregon?
Howdy, Oregonian here who lives on the Willamette.
The river is pronounced (Will-am-It)
Super excited about this series. ❤️
Was comeing here to say the same thing lol
Thanks. Oregonian here, that's the pronunciation.
I would say Will-AM-ette...it's the different emphasis pattern that's more glaring than the vowel sound.
At least he pronounced “Orygun” correctly!

“Crime and subsequent punishment.”
I see what you did there.

Haven’t watched any let’s plays from cities skylines 2 so far. That ends today!
Great start to a new city. Your videos are always enjoyable. Thank you.
I love how happy he sounds making this😭
finally coming back to the channel that got me interested in Cities: Skylines! Great video!! :)
I'm so excited! I can't wait for more!!!

As an Oregonian, please add some timber industry! It's not as prevalent as it once was, but the state was built on the industry. That and orchardry!
35:45 - Mobile Homes is a common term for them in the U.S. - Manufactured homes is a fancy way of saying it…
I live in Oregon this is the first time I’ve ever seen someone use something from my state I am In Shock….
bro your voice is really calming and soothing i can listen to your videos all day!
I love the city skylines series you've made before, I don't mind the detailing, especially since I'm not patient enough to do in my city.
The word you're looking for is module homes
Delayed starting to watch this series from release but really looking forward to binge watching it!
New to the channel, and so happy I found another CS2 creator I enjoy. Love the detailing! The more the better.

Call the town Blackwater
LOL - modular or manufactured housing - definitely not trailers
this is so crazy relaxing and pleasing to watch!!

There's levels to this gaming business woah
Honestly, you could upload like an hour long video just of your detailing montage timelapse. I'd watch the sh*t out of that! 😂
For bushes using the line tool please enable random rotation D: I dunno if I can handle them all being the exact same direction
Hello from Oregon, I love that you are using Willamette since I live right on it.
35:30 modular homes is the word
Since the mods and what not arent on steam for cs2, im just assuming there is a modhub in game to get em from?

@ConflictNerd ah ok, thats actually really nice lol. Its just like farming simulator.
Nice video. The city looks great. Have a great day. 😊👍
New series to binge alert 🚨 😂
I think Oregon has a lot of waterfalls. Is that a possibility in City Skylines 2?
Love this ❤

Amazing how much time you are willing to blow on detailing while the city is going bancrupt.
Can’t wait for software inc
Awesome a new series..
I live off the Willamette River. It looks like that.
They're called demountables
tried the map, couldnt place power station anywhere and the roads had trouble being placed. sad, it was a good map
Love your videos. Here's a dumb question, how did you get Colossial Order buses? I don't see them in my game. Keep up the great work.
For some reason every time you say "row houses" I hear "grow houses" and think "they added that in CS 2????"
The area cities are know for having very small square blocks and all one way streets
It’s Wil-lam-it River
What is the name of the map?
did someone say county??
Any plans for a new series on software Inc?
thank god
Please don't use a poop cannon use a treatment plant

Any updates for console support?
Still waiting for console CS2
There you go wasting $ by over extending roads then deleting it
i want to know about how citie skylines 2 be enojoyed :), because i have sequel 1
Is the zoning toolkit a mod?
Hi what is the name of the Road Tool extension?
You pronounce the river wrong it’s “will-lam-it” it rhymes with god damn it
