Pretty new to KY from Oregon, just bought my first property! I discovered tons of small wild Paw Paws (after I purchased a couple, of course), and many already have small fruit in June/July (pea-sized), but the trees are mostly little bushes, some are like 7-8 ft tall. Are these fruit not gonna be as big or unviable due to the small size of the bush/trees? Also, the apples you recommended didn't include my favorite (Fuji), or my choice pollinator (Granny Smith). Will they do OK around here? I'm in Northern Green County, about 15 miles south of Hodgenville. We appear to have pretty good soil here. Thanks, great vid!
The growing zone for your specific area is 7a Fuji Apples Growing Zone range 4-9 Granny Smith Growing Zone range 5-9 Your eco region is 71 - Interior Plateau IF northernmost part of Green County, then 71a - Crawford - Mammoth Cave Uplands if not northernmost then 71g - Eastern Highland Rim Either way, you have good soils in that region for raising crops and livestock. Hope this helps
