@@azungu1190 "I know. I grew up playing RCT 2 in the early 2000s. It amazes me that both of these games are still going as strong as they are nowadays, compared to games like Planet Coaster and Parkitect! It is incredible!" 🤩❤️👍
That "heeheehee" when you goof up or see the game do something funny is becoming a trademark of the channel. Love that you've started with RCT3!! The game does seem buggy though, compared to RCT1 & 2, they were meticulous!
As someone who has played RCT3 their whole life this is extremely infuriating 😂 especially when he kept calling the top spin “high flyer”, im sitting here screaming at my screen “HIGH FLYER IS THE COASTER!”
When I play theme park games like this, I try to make parks with rides that I would enjoy in real life, so no crazy thrill rides or coasters. Just rides on the more gentle side for me. Gentle flat rides like the teacups, carousels, and Ferris wheels, smaller coasters like kiddie coasters that don't go very fast or high up, but do have more mild hills and turns that people new to coasters (Like me 😉) would enjoy...
With a few exceptions (like Ferris wheels, those scare me to death 😵💫) I do the same, but since I’m an adrenaline junkie, I like lots of rollercoasters. Cool to hear about all the different play styles
Hey Azungu, just discovered your channel a few weeks ago and watched your RCT1 videos. Looking forward to see your nice coaster designs in RCT3 and have some nice on rides :) greetings from Germany
You are able to import your own music if you want to have organ music for the merry go round! And I havnt finished the video as I type this but your able to test the coasters during construction. Love it so far!
When you can't figure out how to do something, google is your friend. However, to find things sometimes you gotta go through allllll the buttons. ;) (you fly by the one you need so often because that can't be it... :'D lol) (Entrances are under ride details, the train car with the i symbol. (over on the screen-right side after the thoughts cloud and finances buttons, above the mechanic button))
Big fan of RTC 1 and 2. Currently watching your #1 playthrough series. Interested to see RTC3, as I've heard nothing but bad hahaha. Would love it if you can do more 'How to build great rollercoaster' tutorials for 1 & 2. Your builds always seem so effortless and end up with great coasters. I take twice as long for something half as good.
The RCT fandom is split between the two games it seems, and it’s common for folks to diss on the other side, like Ford vs. Chevy. Now that I’ve dipped my toes and experience RCT3, I can say both games are awesome! (And I can’t get the darn title screen music out of my head! 😫😂) I’ve been thinking of making more tutorials, it’s just that the one tutorial I did make kind of flopped. But maybe I just did a lousy job and I need to rethink my editing style for my tutorials 😅 Thanks for checking the videos out!
@@azungu1190 Far be it from me to tell you what to do with your time and channel, but from my (and maybe only my) perspective, I'd love to hear more about the thought process behind the different coaster/ride types. Why you are choosing the track pieces you do? what makes for a good version of that coaster? what will ruin it? Things like that, rather than 'here is a cool design you can use' (although, those are good too). I don't think I'll ever play RCT3, so happy to live vicariously through you on that one :D
@@swordo84 I’ve thought of making a video walking through my thought process of rollercoaster design. Not so much a piece by piece tutorial, but more of the theory behind it. Problem is, I often don’t even know what makes them good, I’ve just played the game so long I have a feel for it. That’s why so often I’ll half finish and go “this looks terrible, let’s start over.” 😂
Looking forward to this playthrough. RCT3 is one of my favourite childhood games which I still play from time to time as an adult. As for the price for rides, I usually eyeball it, but a good strategy is to just set a price equal to excitement level of a ride (ex. if a ride has an excitement of 4 the price is going to be around 4 dollars). Placing scenery items and decorating your rides (trees, bushes, making walls and ceilings around queue paths is a great way to rise excitement level of a ride. You can easily build a '6' excitement rollercoaster and just by decorating it make it up to 8 or 9. After all it just makes your park look realy great and beatiful.
Thank you! I'll have to apply these tips in the next RCT3 video. I was wondering how to guess a good ballpark price for rides, since it's different than RCT2.
@@azungu1190 also, there is an easier way to build paths and make them going up or down without using a menu with arrows. All you need to do is just click and hold on the blue arrow on a path and then just drag your mouse up or down, while still holding mouse button. That's how I build my paths.
Also, looking at the laydown coaster... that's the flying style coaster, ie you want to at around the top of the lift hill flip the track around 180 degrees so that you "fly" ;)
I loved RCT3 as a kid!! At the time, it felt really revolutionary. I still play it from time to time, mostly to ride the rides lol. I'm so glad you're checking it out!
oh the giant slide the entrances are on the right tab of the ride menu. you have to select it manually from the vehicle shaped tab. it will have the name of the ride along with gate options, also in career mode when staff is unhappy u have to train them as it will increase their productivity
RCT3 actually holds up pretty well in this day and age, stills looks decent! Probably the only complaint is that the UI is way too small lol. I get they probably didn't want to clutter the screen but man those buttons are tiny! Been a long, long, LONG time since I've play this game, really looking forward to seeing you go through it all! :)
I'm excited too! I messed around in Sandbox mode after recording this, and oh boy am I impressed with the depth of the game design. Not saying I like it better or worse than RCT2, but so far I really like RCT3.
The game was probably designed for an era where screens were smaller (think 720p or 1280x720) - not the 1440p or 4k screens that seem to be popular now.
These videos have become part of my routine, I remember this game vividly but at the same time very faintly, RCT1/2 are still better games. Simplicity at its finest
I always loved RCT3, which makes me an oddity, because i cut my teeth on 1 and 2. The isometric titles will always be my fondest memory, but the ability to ride the coasters was a massive gain for the franchise
i love RCT3, i play it often. thanks for playing. also u can move paths down and up with just moving the mouse, when u scroll on a path move the mouse up and down to lower or raise the path
Geeze, lol @ how many times I sat there yelling "YOU DITZ TURN ON THE BLOCK SECTION OPTION!!!! YOU DID IT BEFORE!!! ARRGGG" 🤣 Then you FINALLY got it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I will say one thing I learned from career mode is sometimes you just have to hit the fast forward button and wait for some more money to generate. Also if a walkway is too crowded you can double up the path way in some areas to make it a little less congested Also also 1:18:40 could not have been more perfectly timed
To get the second train in your coaster you not only need to place block brakes, but also you need to turn "Block section" ON (it's in the cogs menu of the coaster)
I remember getting this game for Christmas when it came out but never playing the scenarios. I remember making cool fireworks on the sandbox mode though.
RCT3 while not perfect remains my favorite of the series (including Planet Coaster). This is simply due to the combination of Theme parks/water parks/Zoos all in one game. Its shortcomings in other areas compared to other members of the series and spiritual successors are outdone by the sheer scale and flexibility offered.
@@azungu1190 Ah nice smart move playing this first then as it really has a lot to offer compared to both of those (though don't get me wrong they're both great successors to the RCT series as a whole), but there is nothing like Soaked or Wild in them sadly though of course there is Planet Zoo, it's just so neat being able to basically create like a Disney World style resort in RCT3.
