14:21 Advantage of CVT: Depending on the vehicle and the driver, a CVT can provide a smoother driving experience when comparing it to a traditional automatic. Most cars equipped with CVTs offer a smoother ride than a similar car with a regular automatic. This is because the transmission never shifts. There is no abrupt downshifting when the car needs additional power, and there is no feeling of gear hunting that you sometimes feel with a traditional automatic. According to Carfax, one of the most significant advantages to having a CVT is that they are often more fuel-efficient than a regular automatic. Disadvantage of CVT: CVTs can be expensive to repair or replace when compared to a conventional automatic transmission. Some of the common problems that owners run into include overheating, slipping, and sudden loss of acceleration. Shuddering is also a common problem. Since CVTs depend on the belts to operate, if these suffer from excessive stretching or too much wear, the transmission can completely fail. Another complaint that drivers tend to make about a CVT is the loud droning sound that occurs during acceleration. This happens because the CVT forces the engine to continuously run a constantly high rpm as it gets up to speed. The general public has been less accepting of the CVT due to the difference in noise perception from mechanical or step automatic transmission. That said, it ultimately up tot he person driving. If you have never driven a vehicle with a CVT transmission before make sure you do your due diligence/test drive before buying. Stay safe out there folks. 👍
Also important to note is to have regular fluid change on those CVT transmissions. Lots of people ignore this or even their service advisors only adviced them to change them after 40-50k miles which is too long. I recommend changing them every 20k miles or 2 years for longevity. These CVTs are fragile, but maintaining them and keeping their fluids fresh is the key.
It is a more fuel efficient transmission because you have almost infinite gear arrangement, mixed with electronic control, the car always will be in the most efficient RPM range of operation with the correct quantity of mixed air/gas intake for the most power and torque. Personally, I don't like those CVTs that simulates gear shifting, it's useless for me.
Just bought one this past Monday, the back seats do fold down , 60/40 split! Mine is gun metallic, I did pay almost $500 to get 2 key fobs and auto start, but I still Love it!!
Take note, you could get one of these with a 5 speed for about $12K just 5 yrs ago. So yes while there was a redesign with more features, you're looking at a whopping 33% price inflation in just 5 yrs.
appreciate the review. the S is really the only tier worth it. you could have a million dollars and the S would give you more value. i'm so happy to find a '90s car' that is this new. let's see how many miles it'll go!
So price and reliability are the gamble here. It’s part Renault and part Nissan. Where do the lines cross ? Do you get to where you want to be on years of service and miles before something big fails or repair costs overtake you??
I got a 5 speed during the end of June 2024. Mine was made in May 2024. Test drove it twice in one day while the dealer inquired more info about my trade in. Pretty cool little car. This is the most "normal" car you can get now a days. It is not heavily computerized like most 2024 cars, even the 2024 cars that come with a manual are too computerized now a days.
The safety equipment is hard to beat for the price , they had to cut keyless entry and keyless start, rear emergency braking and lane departure warning, the Kia rio lacks it.
With Kia making a big mistake by discontinuing the Rio for 2024 , the Versa will be the last gas econo car on the US market and they will sell at this price point. Just a reminder to all the dumb car companies - not everyone can afford a $50,000 plus SUV which is all they want to sell.
Thank you for being so thorough. I have a 2015 Versa Note so I needed to know if there was a pass through from the trunk to the back seats. In the "S" trim there is not, so if I wanted manual transmission I'd have to give up the pass through. Can't do that. I wish I could buy a Kicks with a manual transmission.
I’m a talker today . So say what you will about the French. Is it an old wives tale that their cars favor comfort and quirky engineering over reliability ? Looks like the Japanese influence shines and the crash tests show a very high level of engineering there .
Is apple carplay and heated seats really that big of a deal? I just would use it for spotify and some maps. But I could always just attach my phone to a little dash holder and use maps from there too.. heated seats would be nice in Toronto winters though.. and the S model apparently doesnt have both of those
Signed for this car today. Kind of surprised your knees dont touch the steering wheel as you're 6'3. I am only 5'10 and I basically had to spread my legs while turning the wheel.. maybe I could have played with it more but.. that was my only issue. Can pick it up soon and will be my first car@@NothinButCarReviews
So far so good. Don't have many cars to compare it to as its my first one ive owned besides taking some for test drives. Wish it had a center armrest though.@@Ryan_Carder
3:06 Plenty of room for at least one body in there. 🤔😉😆I realize they are trying to maximize room but nothing works best for a car than the exact size tire/wheel. The little donut tire may work to get you to your destination but you can't go over 55 mph on it. Most people forget to check the pressure on these spare tires. 😆Pressure normally higher than the reg sized tires.Typically 60 psi on the cars I have driven.
What a cute car. It’s refreshingly simple in a world of layered complexities. Don’t want to see how it performs in a crash against a pickup truck though.
This is what 90% of us need.
no lmao. this is what the government wants you to think you need. this is not worth anywhere near the asking price

I just bought this car and holy crap do I love it. I get compliments, it just looks slick.
I am 80 years old this is probably going to be my next car.
Did you get it ?
Thank you Nissan for keeping at least one car super duper cheap in your lineup. Might jump on that real soon
I put 180,000 miles on my Versa before it was totaled by a deer. It was a great little car. :))

It's better to opt for the SV trim for a few hundred dollars more and you get more.
It comes with modern safety features!!!

Would you suggest buying this car to do rideshare, and if so how long do you think it would last putting those kind of miles on it.
If you keep it maintained, you’ll be alright.
Cant find a manual anywhere 😔
Just got one today the same one as in the video but grey

But no key fob for the S model! Just wondering, is the optional key fob the same as the one used for the SV or SR model?
