She said in an interview after she gained fame when she was first starting out, she disappeared for a bit to find herself and write her songs. She’s probably in New Zealand, working on new music.
she wrote in a newsletter that she is almost completely done with a new album but her dog recently passed away and it was really hard for her mentally so she is taking more time away before releasing the album
I hope you get to strawberry! It was one of the most memorable moments of my life & I always think back to how happy I felt. Thought I was in another universe. Truly surreal
Thank you for capturing this! We’ve been sleeping on this version of Ribs. The song is about growing older and the fear/excitement that accompanies those transitions. Then she literally changes from wearing black (Pure Heroine and the enshrinement of her teenage years + notice that HP on her crop top) to an almost metallic pink, which represents the vibrant colors of her early twenties. OMG AND THE MELODY BREAKDOWN FUCKING RIVALS HARD FEELINGS.
@@viniciusnogueira459 yup this explanation really shows how articulate and careful her decisions are, crafting a beautiful performance with so many tiny details that you don't pick up on the first watch
Omg I remember when she sang this when she was in the melodrama Melbourne tour I wish I filmed it but it was nice to take it all in. She said how she no longer feels scared to grow up, and how all those years alone she was experiencing the beauty of life and now she sees ribs as young Ella.
Its literally the perfect time for her to come out of wherever she's hiding. Everybody's inside. Her music is made for listening by yourself. Please i miss her so much
I was at this concert - my first concert ever - and it was absolutely mind-blowing. I remember leaving the stadium after the show, ears ringing slightly, unable to do anything but laugh with surprise and awe. I remember this song too because it was one of the only ones I recognized at the time!
I love the "That will never be enough-ough" at the end! Now when I listen to Ribs and it ends, the fact that this part is not in it, drives me crazy Lol Ugh, her mind
That happens a lot with live versions I find. After going to Taylor Swift's Reputation Stadium Tour, (as was the case with the previous 1989 World Tour, The Red Tour and Speak Now,) there are a number of songs of hers I have a hard time listening to the studio version now because the live version was totally different and so much better, (in my opinion.) Like the rock version of 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' on The Red Tour, this year it is 'I Did Something Bad', which was incredible live and needs a studio version done that way badly. (I pray she does a video special of the concert Netflix-style just for the different styles, medleys and mashups.) She also had a number of medleys and mashups that worked perfectly together the way she did them and you couldn't even tell they were different songs. Artists generally fall into 3 groups I find: 1: They stick to the original songs and sound great (or better than the studio version) 2: They aren't as good live regardless if they stick to the original song or try something different 3: They take some songs and redo them, creating something special and interesting I like both 1 and 3, depending on the artist.
I'm so obsessed with this performance of her. It's mindblowing. I cannot even understand how I've seen this so many times. Since no one ever comes to Mexico, or any place near to me (I'm talking about artists I support) I haven't go to any concert so I'm only able to see their performances on YT or IG and none of them (except maybe Bastille or Aurora) makes me feel how I feel while watching this video. The amount of emotion and joy Ella shares with the crowd and the dancers it's on another level. I'm really glad I found her, and her music. About the 3 kind of artist you listed I'll put in here some of my favorites: 1. Bastille/ Aurora/ The Killers 2. Børns (I love his music, but his live performances are really lame) 3. Lorde/ Bastille
I'm really glad I was able to share the performance and you were able to find it and enjoy it. That is my whole purpose behind sharing the content I do, that hopefully people will be able to witness something special and get at least a small sense of what I experienced. It makes me happy to know that it makes others happy. :-)
damn, I just reached my teenage years and this is already hitting hard. I remember listening to this with my older brother when I was much younger and not knowing what it meant. Now listening to it now, it's such a piece of art filled with such raw emotion and experience. Thank you Ella for this amazing and breathtaking song. 💞💖
I just turned 25. Pls enjoy your teenage years! I found Lorde after she put out her EP with royals in 2012 when I was 17. In this quarantine I've been really reminiscing my teenage/high school times. It goes by so quickly and you never get it back. Be safe, have fun, go to parties, go to school pep rallies, join all the clubs you can, take hard classes, take an easy class, hold hands w your friends in the hallway, hold hands with your crush. Those giddy butterflies of being a teen go away pls enjoy every moment of them ❤️
This was one of the few concerts that I filmed on my Sony A6000 camera. I don't even bring it to concerts anymore because they have just gotten more and more strict. It is purely a phone I've been using pretty much since then I believe.
The drink you spilt all over me 'Lover's Spit' left on repeat My mom and dad let me stay home It drives you crazy, getting old We can talk it so good We can make it so divine We can talk it good How you wish it would be all the time The drink you spilt all over me 'Lover's Spit' left on repeat My mom and dad let me stay home It drives you crazy, getting old The drink you spilt all over me 'Lover's Spit' left on repeat My mom and dad let me stay home It drives you crazy, getting old This dream isn't feeling sweet We're reeling through the midnight streets And I've never felt more alone It feels so scary, getting old We can talk it so good We can make it so divine We can talk it good How you wish it would be all the time This dream isn't feeling sweet We're reeling…

It's sometimes nice to hear artists do slightly different renditions or arrangements of popular songs live. It quite often breathes new life into them, or makes them impact slightly different. I've been lucky to hear a few artists do this, where personally I actually like the live version even better than the original. It would be nice for some of them to be officially studio remastered or live masters be released.
