I am in the commercial marine industry and have ran the Jersey inlets thousands of times, wish I recorded some of the adventures especially when a 95 foot longliner drawing almost 15 foot spun almost 180 in Barnegat Inlet in a noreaster.
I really enjoyed watching the night vision shots it was beautiful & scary combined!! I love the lights on the water & boats but I am not a fan of boating in the dark. You would hear me screaming while filming…..lol
I love this one the best so far! The party boats and the dredge made for great watching..can only imagine the mess on the party boat.lol..waves probably washed all the bad (food) overboard saving the 2nd mate some work, stay safe
Wow, those are some crazy seas. I would have stayed at the dock, even in our Bertram - LOL. This is such a great channel - Capt's in NJ are so much better than the Haulover yahoos!!! Keep up the great video's!!
The first couple of shots are 6 to 8 foot seas, not truly "crazy". Looks like calm winds just a nice breaking swell. The challenge with Haulover isn't the height, it's the choppiness. Sometimes it's easier to deal with a 8 foot swell than a 4 foot chop!
@@erichammond9308 it all depends on the wave period not wave height , I’d do in 8’ seas all day with a 20 second period but stay home in 5’ seas with a 6 second wave period. Also haulover isn’t that bad except the sheer volume of traffic and all the jerks who move to Florida buy the first boat they see on Craigslist then slap some salt life stickers all over their truck and decide they will test the boat by running the inlet 😅
@@johnbumpus7138 amen to that! steep is worse than high - I've been in a 20 foot swell (about 25 second period) on a sunny day and it's beautiful, I've also been in 20 foot breakers with a 10 second period and is downright scary as hell!
Man I have to get down there. I've never been further south than Shark River inlet/Avon. I thought the boating season might be over but I guess not. Maybe Friday.
We go out Barnegat... it looks like that a lot. Were just pleasure boating so if its snotty we just stay in the bay. But when its like that often you need to go farther out to turn around. You have to pick a proper wave that you can come about quickly on the face of. Particularly when theyre breaking like that. Its fun in a boat built to handle the rough stuff. Terrorizing in a smallish single engine cabin boat. Nothing worse than being underpowered and wallowing in a rough inlet. Were on Cedar Creek so we could go out Manasquan or Barnegat. I hate the canal. Were out there between AC and Pt. Pleasant all summer. Used to party at Tices in the 70s and 80s. Before everyone found it. We called it Clearwater then. Enjoy your channel!
@@ShoreBoats it was a great spot. On a hot sunny Saturday there might be 10 boats. Sometimes more. And the Barnegat sandbar was an island. Getting to the inlet by car is a pain... having to drive all the way north on LBI.
Why say " SINGLE engine," why not just yamaha 250 or similar. Most boats with outboards throughout the world just have one outboard, you make it sound weird, when it's normal lmao

Correct I have the older version of the same boat it’s a Grady White 232 Gulfstream nice dry ride and handles well

They all had lights on
There is difference between port and starboard lights and a centre white guide/cabin light that they were using.
