As long as the bottle has got very hot and is still sealled, then beer (and alcohol generally) doesnt expire - might not be at is best tasting (if has got hot at some point the flavours will degrade or if exposed to oxygen it will have oxidised so taste more sour) - hence the "best before" date, but it won't have gone off or moldy. Many food can be safely consumed many months or years after their "best before" dates, but never consume if after an "expires by" date. Lots of content creators cover this aspect, its really interesting.

📎 I think that whole beverages having expiration date thing is a marketing tool esp for things 5-6 mos old! That said, you can always use the beer as an ingredient for beer cheese soup, as the liquid in biscuits (not cookies but those dense rolls that don't have yeast), or in a savory pancake/crepe, or in the batter for tempura or for fried fish (if you eat that). That said, rather than tossing the full ones in the landfill, check with your neighbors and see if any of them would like them. Or, empty the bottles and recycle them after rinsing. That flip top bottle is really nice. I'd likely decant something that is a thin liquid but came in a plastic bottle into that one after washing it out. You are so lucky --- married to a handy chef! a 2 for 1 deal! Looking forward to part 2.
I wish I had that pantry, it's a lovely space. why do you find the Cereal Containers impractical? If not cereal, you could probably use them for rice, flour, snacks etc. Expired Soda loses carbonation and flavor the older it gets. I assume the same for beer. We watch a LOT of British and Australian vlogs and really wish we could go there but we’re old and achy (and broke) so that isn’t going to happen but really enjoy other people who live there. I like to hear your reasons for sorting or discarding rather than the music. Makes me look at my own pantry through someone else’s eyes if that makes sense. Actually the music kind of takes over and I need to turn it down but then you start talking and I need to turn it up. Just something to think about…

Organizing and clearing out clutter is so energizing but I’m 75 now and I’m done, I don’t have extra stuff, not even a junk drawer 😢 to clean and our pantry has next to nothing in it because Ron and I have blood sugar issues so we have gone on the carnivore diet and other than two cases of Spam and some salt not much in the pantry. I am bored out of my skull so I watch other folks do what I did and don’t have to do any more! And on an Australian note: I am the only person in the Pacific Northwest that has a Jimmys Thunderbox I ordered from down there! If we ever have the big earthquake they’re always holding over our heads, boy howdy I’m ready!! 🤣🤣

There’s a channel on YT that is does a January pantry/fridge/freezer challenge. It’s fun to do. Involves meal planning with what you have and eating down so less waste. I’ve done it a couple of times and it’s eye opening! (Three Rivers challenge)
