The ogles and Reagans were the original settlers there. If you drive down the roaring fork scenic drive you will see all their old home places. You can go in the cabins and I believe it is the first cabin you come to you can take a trail that goes in behind it and it will lead you to a creek and the old trough is still up that used to bring water to a small mill. There are waterfalls along roaring fork as well you can get out of your car and walk to. At the end of roaring fork scenic drive you come to the old mill on pigeon river. I love it there. If I could afford it I would live there. Lol
Haven't seen this place in 10 years, I am from Blount County but most of my fathers side were Ogle's in Gatlinburg, after high school I lived in Gatlinburg while working for DW and I found this cemetery after some family research. When I was there I met the caretaker, the place was in much better shape and now its most likely only maintained by the families that are buried there that do come to visit.
That was a very interesting tour . My mom and I loved to wander thru peaceful old cemeteries like this and read the tombstone epitaphs . This walk reminded me of those days. .i'm glad it is maintained and not left to ruin. The town has been growing up around it for hundreds of years ....so many tears shed under those old trees . . Thank you for sharing another piece of Tennessee .... sure miss my visits there. . Merry Christmas everyone.
That's strange that you stumbled on that and even more weird the location of the place. It was awesome how they kept names all together like that. I loved all the architecture and it was a cool and awesome find jay. Thanks for sharing as always.
my dad and I used to go through local cemeteries and I would get to find out about my relatives . It was very interesting to know our family history . I wish I had wrote it down while he was telling me. Dad has since passed away and a lot of the stories and history are gone.
Great video. The Ogle's /Huskey's were the first settlers. There also are a ton of Clabo's, Reagan's, Whaley's, Ownby's and some Conner's. There are some really good books the Great Smolky Mountain Society sells. I have one that is dedicated to tons of the family's it is super thick. It has almost everyone that ever settled and their families. I buy all I can on the history of the area, mountains and family's. I don't know if this particular book is available anymore, but I was glad to find it. You can get to this cemetery too from the Village, if you go up by the bathrooms you will see the road to it.
Wishing you all A merry Christmas. Not around much due to health issues but giving you the thumbs up here and there. You're doing a great job out there....
I have always enjoyed strolling through cemeteries...the peace, serenity and the history of them...thank-you for sharing this and Wishing you and your family..A Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!😘🎄💖⛄🎅
thank you for taking me on your vacation. I love the history In the old cemeteries especially the head stone fro the revolutionary war. I have never seen one that old.
No such thing when you have God in your heart soul spirit mind and body all though your bones and ask Jesus Christ to put his precious blood inside your body and threw your veins amen .
PFC = private first class. I love old cemeteries, so thanks for this! The spit tree was amazing and the lamb stones for the babies were so heart breaking. Where my mail route used to be, there was a similar old hidden cemetery hidden between two apt. complexes. Lots of repeated names and old stones just like this one. In summer I used to drive back in there to eat my lunch and I would stop and spend a moment at this one little girl's headstone. It had gone a little bit crooked and I suspected no one probably visited as she had died in the 19th century, so I would always say a few words for her in my head.
Really enjoyed that. You will find at one time that cemetery would have been a very long way from town and town as grown up to it. Thanks for taking me along
Cemeteries are so interesting to give us a glimpse of history, whether it's personal history or national history. That was so interesting the one from the revolutionary war!
Great video as always JP! We have a semi-hidden cemetery over here in Ohio near us that is really spooky and we even caught a mist in one of our pictures above a headstone for two children! What makes it unique is, that, while US 224 was being constructed, they actually moved American Indian remains over to the existing cemetery. We have only photos, but we want to go get a good video when the weather improves. You are an inspiration to my gf Abby and I and one reason we have discovered a love for exploration! You are one of the best, in our opinion! (Oh and I love to eat too, so chow time is always enjoyable as well) Merry Christmas to you and your family!!
When lambs are on top of a headstone (I'm at -16:14-) it means it's a child or children's grave.😢 It looks like a very nice peaceful cematary. When I look at headstone I always picture the family's or friends that once stood at the gravesites, If you want to see a very sad head stone go to Baltimore across the street from the VA hospital there's a big church & graveyard, Poe & family are there. But if you go all the way in the graveyard to the other side of the church you'll see a woman's headstone. She had many children & most died in childhood or as young adults, not sure but I think she outlived her husband and children. There's also an Interresting grave where you look down & see a coffen & there's a hammock. I was trying to get EVPs, didn't get them but the hammock did swing back and forth when I spoke to the sprit. You can say it was the wind, but it is in a hole in the ground, it wasn't moving when I first got there and it was not windy at all that day. There are times when you can go inside the churches crypt that is under the church & those are very old graves. It wasn't open when I was there or I would have tried to film it. The next time I'm there I'll share what it looks like & also the Poe home which is very haunted. If anyone goes to the Mr. Poe's home you can hear readings of his storys, very Interresting.
GhostCity Shelton Poe is buried at Westminster Hall, which is across from the University of Maryland hospital (main campus.) I work for the hospital, so I try and stop by to visit the Poes when I get a chance. Also, the cemetery is tiny, but fascinating for a historian like me because many prominent Baltimoreans are buried there and they built the church over the graves without moving them.
Beautiful cemetery! I’m shocked at the birth date of 1750 on the big gravestone. Wow, 270 years ago!! It really is sad to see the number of babies and young children buried there. The music you chose was really good...haunting. Excellent video! Thanks for taking us along with you!! And thank you for providing good, clean, family oriented fun in all of your videos. I go here on every trip I take to Gatlinburg. A lot of people don’t even realize it’s up on the hill behind the Village. I met a very sweet lady up there behind it on the hill a few years ago. She was an Ogle.Sadly her home and most if not all of the houses up behind the cemetery were burnt down during the fire a few years ago.
You are just amazing. Could not believe so many young people that have passed, don't know why. I do know they are all in a better place. Was very interesting.
Thank you for sharing this. I would love to travel back to Gatlinburg and roam around. I already have parts of Tennessee on my list of cemeteries to visit, and will definitely add this.

PFC Private First Class And you are very fortunate to stumble upon a cemetery filled with a family that founded the town. A great historical find and good video. Two days old, wow that's the youngest with a tombstone I've ever seen. The split charred tree looks like a lightning strike.
Very neat old cemetary. The old head stone with Timothy Reagan on it was incredible. Seems ok having next to mini golf, etc., possibly putting privacy fencing would be nice. PFC means Private First Class in the army. The tiers not sure, really like that layout though. Burnt trees were eerie. Children always very sad. Thank you Jay absolutely great find!! :)
I'm guessing that the area wasn't built up much when this cemetery was established. I like cemeteries - they're peaceful and contemplative. I like reading the headstones and reading the names and dates. There is a small cemetery in rural northern Michigan where my parents are buried, including relatives from the Mom's and Dad's families. It's surrounded by Amish farms and is so quiet and peaceful. You did a really nice job documenting this and filling in extra info. Thanks again for taking us to another interesting and beautiful place, JP :-)
wow those are really old burials.....1700's is only a few hundred years from our founding. So glad you are bringing their names to light after all these centuries. btw Merry Christmas to JP Videos et al. Hope you all have a blessed new year as well.
I am a member of the "Find a grave". I live in Putnam county Tn. There are old old hidden cemeteries here. You would love them. A lot of children and babies. The history is usually the same. I don't just find graves for the family members, but I also do the research to follow the ancestry lines and get to the history of the person. Next time you are in Tn. Come 1.5 hours east to middle Tennessee. You won't regret it. It would be super cool if you found some of the abandoned homes as well. Huge history here.
Cool video, it's interesting to see old long forgotten cemeteries that are still well maintained. There's a some here in Macomb county Michigan with a rich history.
I really enjoyed that. I love cemeteries, they're so peaceful and calming. There's also been good paranormal activities from several cemeteries. I would watch it all night. Thank you so much for this JP. You know how to keep us all happy 💖🌺💖
The cemetery is included in the Haunted Gatlinburg tours. I'm 55 and was taken to Gatlinburg at 18 months until I was in my late teens. then I took my parents at least once a year until they passed in 2007. My husband and I try to get to Gatlinburg every few years. I have known about this cemetery since I was a kid.
Cemeteries I believe used to tend to be built on hills as it wasnt "buildable" land. Or rather easier to build on flat land. I am assuming the tiers because it was easier and made it easier to walk. PFC is Private First Class. Depending on if you had JROTC. You could all ready be above that by the Time you finished Boot Camp and AIT - oops Stephanie Luke's Mom JP- the Cemetery was there before the Tourist area. Way back walking the rivers and streams horse was the only way to Travel. People lived near water for a number of reasons. Didnt stay more than a few miles from home. Even in my "small town" 315 there are I believe 8 cemeteries
I think this can also be accessed from The Village. The road leads up from the bathrooms. We’ve walked around up there must not as far in. Thank you for sharing!
At the beginning you walked by a young man's grave named Tate Marr .He was 18 and an employee of the Space needle at the time of the accident. Not sure of the details but it happened on the elevator that takes you up to the top of the needle.
brenda branam Ya he was jumping from top of elevator to stair platforms and back on the space needle. Slipped and was cut in half. Very sad . Btw cemetery is not haunted. That place was a hangout for kids running the streets in Gatlinburg. I have slept there. Did a lot of partying in the mid 80s. It is open to the public.
Seems to be an Irish cemetery. Most names including Reagan are Irish. Also founders of Gatlinburg were Reagan's, Bonahan's, and Ownbey...now back to watching.Yes I am not only a PA stalker but a cemetery stalker lol...Been sick so have to go back and watch more of your videos I have missed. Thanks for another great video!
Children: Child Birth itself is hard for both Mom and Babe. Learning to breastfeed and lack of sanitation like we have now. And lack of vaccines 😭 - Stephanie
Luke gervais True on child birth. Vaccines are more deadly than we know. Watch “Vaxxed”-they don’t Want people to know truth. If you are open to learning about it, the movie will be a paradigm changer for you. A friend of mine had a beautifully perfect baby boy. Took him for a pediatric visit and got shots. He’s autistic now. She did everything she could and still does. She’s also divorced now. Blessings to you.
Luke gervais I’m sorry for your challenges. I believe ‘they’ are trying to harm the populous in various ways-GMO, fluoride, pesticides, bromides, chemical additives to food, vaccinations laced with thimerisol, chem trails, etc, etc. Doctors of great renown are denouncing the vaccination industry. When I was young, there were 5 vaccinations-now there are over 20. These little ones are facing unprecedented environmental challenges and then we expose them to a myriad and plethora of disease via vaccine. Your frustration is more than warranted, but the truth is vaccinations are a problem. Watch Vaxxed if want the whole truth.
I liked this video. If you want to ever explore a deep-south cemetery I can tell you where it is. This cemetery is old as time and is up on a hill. It is separated by a road that divides the white cemetery and the black cemetery. That is the only division. Some of the graves are older than any of us. But this cemetery is so peaceful. It is where my parents are buried. I have never seen such a peaceful cemetery. I have a horror of going to work on my parent's graves and falling to sleep because of the peace and waking up in the middle of the night in a dark cemetery.
Such a beautiful cemetery with Revolutionary War history should have the stones maintained by the Historical Society. The Town Council should see to that. Oh, and I 💘 LOVE the music you play during this video! Exquisite!!!
Thank you Jay for another entering video, well done. There is an awful lot of history there and surrounding areas. Best wishes for a very Merry Christmas to you, Jill and Lili 🎅🎁🎄🕊️

I don't know if anyone has responded to your query or not. PFC means Private First Class and was given to soldiers who had shown outstanding merit and had been in the Service for awhile.. I appreciated this video. One of the granddaughters of my. Sixth greatgrandfather Nathan VanFossen put her up for adoption because he was elderly, in poor health and could not take care of her. Her mother's name was Rachel Ogle. Now I know where to start looking! Thank you.
Back in 2006 I believe, we visited Gatlinburg in the summer, and we visited a cemetery there, I don't think this is the one, but I know there are several. I took many pictures and got some interesting images, on one of those pictures I noticed some what looked like orbs and in one particular picture I captured an image of a head. I still have those pictures, very creepy
I had no idea it was there and been to Gatlinburg almost every year since I was 12 years old and I'm now 52...so I will definitely be checking it out...plus I have Reagan's in my family tree..from Townsend right outside of Gatlinburg..could be family. Thanks for sharing💜

I really enjoyed that. I love cemeteries, they're so peaceful and calming. There's also been good paranormal activities from several cemeteries. I would watch it all night. Thank you so much for this JP. You know how to keep us all happy 💖🌺💖
Maybe we should take a stroll through one.
@@JPVideos81 No maybe about it. That's a definite YES. Then onto McDonalds for burgers and fries and finish off with a Holiday cake. 👍👍👍😂😂😂🌹💖💖🌹
@@annebell7274 then what?
@@JPVideos81 There's bound to be something we both like to do 😲😲😂😂😂😂😂 A paranormal investigation 🌹💖🌹
Enjoyed your tour of the Cemetery it's always sad to see when young children pass on.
Thanks for sharing
Cemeteries I believe used to tend to be built on hills as it wasnt "buildable" land.
Or rather easier to build on flat land.
I am assuming the tiers because it was easier and made it easier to walk.
PFC is Private First Class.
Depending on if you had JROTC. You could all ready be above that by the Time you finished Boot Camp and AIT - oops Stephanie Luke's Mom
JP- the Cemetery was there before the Tourist area. Way back walking the rivers and streams horse was the only way to Travel. People lived near water for a number of reasons. Didnt stay more than a few miles from home.
Even in my "small town" 315 there are I believe 8 cemeteries
Love how old the cemetery is
Merry Christmas and Happy NewYear JP , Jill and Lili 🎄🎁✨
We just went here yesterday and picked up some creepy footage!!! This place is haunted no doubt and so are the cabins!!!👻💓👻
Nice find, Jay! Enjoyed it! 👍
Very neat cemetery. How interesting it is to be so close to the miniature golf course.
Merry Christmas Adam!!!
Sending you lot's of good wishes and luv. 💖 👻🖑

@@barbara-pigeonbray4579 thank you very much. Merry Christmas.
I also find old cemetery very interesting. The best one I have been to was in V/City in Nevada USA . Keep up the good work 🤩
I think this can also be accessed from The Village. The road leads up from the bathrooms. We’ve walked around up there must not as far in. Thank you for sharing!
Correct
At the beginning you walked by a young man's grave named Tate Marr .He was 18 and an employee of the Space needle at the time of the accident. Not sure of the details but it happened on the elevator that takes you up to the top of the needle.
Wow, thanks for sharing
brenda branam Ya he was jumping from top of elevator to stair platforms and back on the space needle.
Very true.
My ancestors were Reagan's and from Cork Ireland.
Merry Christmas to you and your family ❣❣ Thank you for all of your amazing adventures and sharing your videos with us.
This is a great video. Amazing. I like Cemeteries, like reading the headstones.
Very interesting video. It's quite fascinating to see this place. I think it's a beautiful location.
What a beautiful cemetery JP... Merry Christmas to you, Jill and miss Lili!
Children: Child Birth itself is hard for both Mom and Babe. Learning to breastfeed and lack of sanitation like we have now.
And lack of vaccines 😭 - Stephanie

True on child birth.
@@TheGoodHeart1000 my child IS on the Autism spectrum.
It has nothing to do w Vaccines.
As his Grandmother who had none has it.
Luke gervais
I’m sorry for your challenges.
@@TheGoodHeart1000 unless you HAVE Relatives that DO have Autism.

I do have. Also have a relative with Asperger’s-all came on after vaccinations
Where is it ?
🎄Merry Christmas Jay Jill and lillie 🎄
Same to you
Merry Christmas Jay and family.
I loved the video and some of the background and cemetery. Thank you for sharing your great video. Your videos are always great
Thanks chris

Such a beautiful cemetery with Revolutionary War history should have the stones maintained by the Historical Society. The Town Council should see to that. Oh, and I 💘 LOVE the music you play during this video! Exquisite!!!
So you are in Tennessee for this one. I love PA but nice to see other places too. Thank you.
Thank you Jay for another entering video, well done. There is an awful lot of history there and surrounding areas. Best wishes for a very Merry Christmas to you, Jill and Lili 🎅🎁🎄🕊️
PFC is a rank in the US Army. Private First Class. Thanks for such an interesting video. I live in SW VA. This area is close to me. I might take a day trip or few days to Gatlinburg.
JP, really enjoyed your cemetery video! Wow, that's awesome seeing some born in the 1700's.

😇🎄 Merry Christmas JP, I know that it has been awhile since, I have made any comments on your channel, it is because I have been, really sick and I also live with chronic pain.

Thank you.
This was an interesting find -thank you for sharing 😳👍💕
Ty 4 the beautiful tour and history lesson. That was awesome!!!
Merry Christmas

I had no idea it was there and been to Gatlinburg almost every year since I was 12 years old and I'm now 52...so I will definitely be checking it out...plus I have Reagan's in my family tree..from Townsend right outside of Gatlinburg..could be family.
