Oh my God. I think Indah n Shanika are very happy person bcs their parents give the good facilities. Ternyata they have parents issues.. sungguh diluar dugaan
OMG I HAVE THE SIMILIAR SITUATION WITH INDAH MY MOM WAS BORN IN 1962 AND HER EXPECTATION FOR ME IS LIKE BEYOND THE CLOUDS, LIKE FOR REAL, SHE IS ALSO A SINGLE MOM, BUT NOW I'M LEARNING TO UNDERSTAND HER SITUATION
the main conclusion from this really intriguing conversation is, ALL parents (Chindo or otherwise) better increase their communication skills. hope we all remember this lesson when we have kids later :D
As a first-born girl in a chindo family, I'm so glad I learned psychology in college. We kinda have gradual therapy as I share my knowledge in our family talks 😂
Kayaknya bakal seru banget ngobrolnya plus more knowledge that you get as a benefit
I'm feel very sorry with indah. Everytime you tell story about your mom, that the very emotional story and i feel sorry for you for been through a lot bad treatment from your mom. Indah if you want to make some podcast with non chindo, non rich people, i would like to join with you guys
I’m Surabayan chindo. I didn’t know what T word was until I studied in Sg and lived in a boarding house with mostly Jawa Barat chindos. And until now I don’t know that H word you guys are talking about so I have to google after this lol. I think many Jatim chindos speak Javanese and Indonesian interchangibly but our bahasa gaul is still javanese, and usually they will be braggy if they can speak mandarin. Also, a lot of Jatim chindos don’t know which dialect group they belong to. So we are very Javanese influenced in language, hence the medok accent. I guess experiences may vary across chindos living in different regions. Anyway, speaking of prejudice, the Chindos themselves like to look down on their own especially if you are not rich, not from the same dialect group, if you are not pure Chinese.
@@gigglegagaing5 Lol, cause my family, relatives and community don’t speak mandarin at all , or dialects ( except my parents or their siblings that I know of). Correct me if I’m wrong, I checked huana is a Hokkien word. My parents and relatives are Hakka, they speak Hakka to each other but not to their children, and my cousins and I know nothing about the language, and my commmunity are sby chindos who are culturally very Javanese.
I had best friend whom chindo Surabayan girl, she knows that T and H word, but never talked that in front of me (perhaps she respect me), I know that word from my other chindo friends and social media (FJB forum).
I literally just woke up watching this and 30mins later got up and eating donuts!! this show gets LIIITTT hahaha wish parents would watch and understand this :)
Menjadi orang tua memang tdk mudah, tp dr podcast ini kita belajar banyak anak2 yg bitterness dengan orang tua nya.. Become healthy parenting lifestyle ternyata susah ya.. Mental illness is everywhere...
im not a chindo myself but this episode especially the trauma dump part (basically the second half) just unlocked some of my traumas, and i sympathize them a lot through out the way. IS IT WEIRD THAT I CIRED A BIT
Have you considered to rent or lease a house as a safe haven? When you need to escape or keep a distance from family members with love/hate relationships, a safe haven can be your harbors; just a quick gateway until situations improve 🤔
I have always thought of this, and since I am not financially steady / ready enough to live away from them I end up staying at my friends’ place or go out until really late and try to use home just for sleeping. The situation will never improve for me, so I just have to wait it out… Thank you for watching and for being curious about it btw:) have a nice day
@@shanikancita If you have all of your friends pool their resources then maybe there would be enough money to sign a lease, at least for few months or a year 🤔
Nyokap gue chindo, bokap gue sunda.
Selain ngambilin tisue, teh kopi gula sachet dr kamar hotel, apapun remote di rumah kalian masih dibungkus plastik sm nyokap nga sih, even my colleague yang half chinese mixed dutch yang her mom is a chinese padang pindah ke nederland since 1yo then grew up di amsterdam, masih relate loh😅😂
to correct it, huana actually means local people, like the people originally from there, it's hokkien for 本地人, i just knew this only after i come to Taiwan and we usually said huana as Indonesians and my Taiwanese heard it and told me that it's racist to say huana word since there's local races here in Taiwan known as 原住民 (yuan zhu min)
Dulu guru gw pernah cerita "bule" itu awal ya blue eye, tapi jadi di singkat bule biar cepet utk orang2 asing yg datang le indonesia yg bermata biru, dan pada umum nya mata biru itu adalah white people, atau american or european people
I'm not chindo, but Indah's mom sounds a lot like my mom. I also see a lot of Indonesian moms in America are the same way. I guess you can leave the kampung but the kampung can never leaves you. A lot of your issues with you guys issues with y'alls parents are more of a general Indonesia parenting issue.
Lemme tell my part of my story, Btw i am a half chinese and dayakise in kalimantan. People around my house, especially the neighbors were so racist. Ive been growing up with people like them. I know that many non-chinese aren't typically act like them. But cmon, we're all the same, humans. Difference is a normal thing in life. There is no need to be racist. ;'(.
Shit I'm a native indo and I can relate to the host about her mom. But in 42:48 is interesting because even if most of the traits of our mom is likely the same but in this point I have to disagree. Because mine is WAY TOO RELIGIOUS and it's become so toxic. So I think it's back to their personality and doesn't have to do with the religion.
As chindo growing up in medan, this is what it is 😂😂😂 but i have been especially disagreed with my mom all the time regarding tenglang vs huana. Only after i moved to bali that i met more chindo friends which are more harmonious. I think medan chindos still live that way? Any thought?
As a non chindo / native Indonesian that raised in chindo majority school and neighbourhood, I understood they concern. Yes there is still gap in person whom raised in 90's high school era, but most of us been immersed in social interactions at school and in the neighbourhood. I even married chindo girl hahaha. I am glad my father in law and mother in law, have modern point of view.
I'm sorry I have a question, no salty ok, what's that mean of putting rainbow flag on the table? I just discover this channel and watch several videos but I just noticed there's rainbow flag, no offense ok, I'm just curious that's it
Ngatain kenapa Indonesia bantu Palestina?
Mau cerita aja , i ask my grandma , what the meaning of Hua Lang or Hua na , she said "orang seberang" karena actually out anchestor masih di RRC Sono , dan sebagian sudah migrate ke Asia tenggara like Thai , Viet , Indo, Malay jadi org yg di luar China ya orang seberang...
as a non-chindo, all they said is basically just asian parents in general
Exactly. 😂

What's the t n h word?

Huana itu dari karakter 番仔 (Huan na), artinya orang Melayu/Indonesia
