If you carefully listen to Huang, the energy cost and consumption is known, the energy savings on it's use is hypothetical. He knows the big problem with AI is energy consumption, and it's nowhere near solved. Industrial revolution indeed.
Al doesn't get enough credit for the best call he ever made Oct 17 1989 game 3 of the world series between the A's and Giants. Earthquake hit and he did the play by play of the destruction as he knew the city intimately. Breathtaking and beat the pants off of any other network that night.

Aside from the Miracle on Ice call in 1980, Al’s best call was in 1994 to Peter Jennings live on air to bail Jennings out of a situation where he was being trolled without realizing it. It was the day of the OJ white bronco chase after the “Chase” was over. A caller got through, claiming to be a “neighbor” but was clearly putting on a “voice”. The caller identified himself as “Robert Higgins” and was giving Jennings a false “play by play” of what was happening. He concluded the short segment with, “… and baba-booey to y’all”. It was obvious to everyone watching except for Jennings that this was a prank call and Jennings was droning on and on until Michaels called in live to let Peter Jennings know that the call was a “farcical” call and that the caller said something in “code” at the end of the call that was indicative of a certain radio show host (Howard Stern). It should be noted that Michaels was a semi-frequent guest on the Stern show, so there was no animosity there and he and Stern had a lot of fun reliving that moment in future broadcasts. Jennings appeared to be crestfallen at the revelation that he was punked on live TV and had to be bailed out by “the sports guy”.
