Back on 1984, my father insisted that I had a waxed motor cycle jacket.
He bought me a trialmaster lookalike by a firm called Mascot, which sadly are no longer made now.
It was the best jacket I have ever owned right up to this point, as I’m still riding now.
    Wish I could get another.
    All the best.👍🏾🇬🇧

When I started out, I had a Belstaff wax-cotton, it was seen as cheap and old fashioned (I so remember the annoying limp belt)- how times have changed.

I'm glad you mentioned the Trialmaster being heavy.I think mine is heavier than all my Barbours.
My missus' Roadmaster is a bit more of a tailored version.
I think my Racemaster is the coolest biker style biker jacket I've had.

Hate to point out Ewan McGregor played Obi Wan Kenobi not Luke Skywalker 🙃 I’ll get my coat 🤪 (wax cotton)

I don't care whether they collect, restore, commute, race, tour, cafe pose or whatever, it's all good for the scene as far as I am concerned. Your view?

@@wazzamagoodiddlydoo simply someone that started at say legal age or younger and never stopped owning a two wheeler, Richard Hammond is a good example of someone that made it in life. People that come into money in later life, and see bikes as been cool, are NOT bikers. I'm not sure about Mr Ewan, only know he was in Trainspotting...

The issue with the Brooklands Mojave jacket looks to be the sleeve pitch - the angle at which the sleeve head is set into the body. The natural position of the sleeves is alongside and slightly in front of the body, whereas they need to be set forward into the riding position, almost at 90 degrees to the body. This would reduce or prevent the jacket riding up when reaching for the controls.
Longer jackets like the Trialmaster mask the same issue, because even if they rise 2 - 3 inches when the wearer reaches for the handlebars, there’s enough length in the body of the garment to ensure a generous overlap.

Like the look of the Crosby, great video as always. Would be interested to see a review of Merlin's jackets, particularly how their Kurkbury holds up compared to Belstaff's Trialmaster.

Brands must have a “love/hate” relationship with you too, but all the better for the customer

I bought my Belstaf Trialmaster waxed cotton jacket and pants in 1975. My son wears them now when he's my pillion. Great gear! I recently replaced my Lewis Leathers Phantom jacket. Purchased the first one in 1977. One too many crashes and repairs. The pants are still in good shape. More great gear! Look after it, it can last a long time. Cheers!

Love the Belstaff range, but for the price you pay they should have genuine Gortex liners.....

Alec Guiness for Obi-wan in my book any day.
Is Belstaff now owned by our Italian friends too?
Handsome things for sure, but for motorcycling give me Alpinestars or Dainese any day.
    Keep the vids coming please.
Great shop but only one at a time please!

We didn’t include it because it’s a really rubbish jacket! No, not really. It’s an old style now that is no longer in the range; that’s why we didn’t feature it. It was, of course, a great jacket! CP

      I bought a Lewis 69er leather of a mate for £3, they're nearly £1000 now.
The belstaff I had before only cost buttons.I'd never heard of Barbour which are now cheaper than Belstaff
