Hi 👋 🙂 I just wanted to ask...i thought all these pens have tips that are made of the same material as the ones with the black top which is larger and therefore not so precise? Which is like skin. I basically thought that these stylus pens are the same as the touch pens just the tip is much smaller, which makes it more precise. Isn’t there a way how to create such a pen yourself if you’d use the black material?

It would be so great if Apple made an I-note... iPhone with a ipencil. If that ever happened, I would switch to Apple for life. Right now, I have to stay with my Note phones.

A random Noob I actually bought one like the Socll one and it worked fine until I charged it. Then it started skipping and the lines became very wobbly. Wish I’d seen this video earlier

I love this. I was hoping you would end up choosing styli similar to the 2 I use. I use the Adonit mini\jot pro 2, since its release and Targus styli with the blobby end. Ive used them for around 7 years and never found anything better for drawing on iphone or even the ipad before the pencil came out. People ask about accuracy. Similar to drawing traditionally, you can make lines without looking because you are used to it. WIth styli on iphone its the same thing. You get used to the offset and can predict every line.
Good video. Very informative! Was looking at some active tip pens because of the finer tips, and because I was looking for something cheaper, but clearly it’s not worth it. Crazy how they turn circles into octagons. Maybe if we’re lucky one day Apple will engineer iPhone screens to work with the Pencil...
Glad that Tim Cook became the CEO. He is not as dogmatic. I love my Apple Pencil and IPad Pro. Jobs would have prevented the Apple Pencil / strange hang up in a calligraphist
I do! I really dislike Apple's approach to things like this, where the Apple Pencil can't be used on the iPhone, batteries can't be changed and they lose their ability to hold a charge after a couple of years. It's all about the money, and they want you to upgrade everything on a cycle that I just can't afford.
Been over 10 years I use galaxy Note and I seriously can't have a phone without a stylus anymore. I love my Mac and wish I could work in one only ecosystem but I can't understand why Apple can't make a stylus for iPhone. I bet many people want that too.
Please take this with a grain of salt. I don't have these issues with my active stylus. A difference is that I run a Samsung phone. The brand of stylus is "Dot".

11:35 I think the wobbling comes from the angel of holding each stylus is different to make it drawing precisely but interesting to see the start point alignment of drawing a line accurately ! Thank you
The problem is in the stylus I’ve used a whole bunch of those because my friend actually bought all of these pens we tried doing this exact same thing but guess what we drew perfect circles honestly it’s either that your hands are just really shaky or your pen have something wrong with it
Thanks! I had an active one that worked great with my iphone 11 pro. Now I upgraded to the 15 pro max, and I get the wavy lines :/ So whatever changed in the last few years made it harder for artists who want to doodle on the go. I ordered the Adonit pro 4, I hope it still works with new model!

The Adonit wasn’t just hype. I have some obscure knockoff of the adonit that works. I was not sure about the little disc but it seems to be ok. Still think I’ll get the iPad

Okay this isnt really a fair test these pens that are active are meant for ipad 2018 and higher not iphone iphones dont have the same stuff inside as the ipads
I have one that looks very similar to the Moko, and it works really well! it was around $30 and my only issue is that it draws a smidgen away from the tip, only a pixel or two but enough to have to get used to it! Edit: I attached the link to this comment thread, it is now around $26!

I AM one of those. So frustrated that Apple Pencil gen 2 will not work on my iPhone 12 Pro. Makes having Procreate Pocket rather useless to me on the go.
Thank you Karin, that was really useful! I hope that you can return/refund all of the others that didn't work. I had one of those styluses with the disk that I tried on my phone (before the Procreate Pocket app came out) but I think I gave it away because I really didn't like it. I bought a lot of styluses before there were so many fancy ones with electronics. I found the best and most accurate were the ones that have like a woven metal for the tip. They still have the spongy stuff underneath, but the woven metal fabric touching the screen was noticeably better and more accurate with far less skipping (where you draw a line and it's not continuous there are parts that are missing).

Actually if you hold down the active stylus pen when drawing straight lines or circles it straightens it out for you!
