My dad who wasnt even a "music person" always kept Michael Jackson's first 3 albums and the Car's greatest hits along with a couple Tom Petty Albums in his truck....Soundtrack to my youth
Wow, this song was their breakout song! I had to get the 45 when it came out. And then the Lp. My Best Friends Girl actually came out before this but this song was awesome!
Back in the late '70's I saw The Cars in a club in New Hampshire, before their first album came out. The guy working the door said, "Yeah, it's The Automobiles or The Cars, or something like that." LOL. A year or two later he would have known, for sure. RIP both Bassist Benjamin Orr and Guitarist Ric Ocasek.
Great band, so many hits, they ruled the radio back in the day! Elliot Easton is an awesome guitarist! Next, check out “Bye Bye Love,” released in 78 (studio version). ✌️
……shout out to the “Back Bay” (Boston) where The Cars started their musical journey ! The Cars, Boston, and Donna Summers owned the city back in the late 70’s ☘️
The cars songs are one of the choices in test drive 6. Lol The other band around that time heavy with the synthesizer sound is Bebop Deluxe. Electrical language was a big hit Electrical Language was a big hit. I kind of liked their song Japan. 🤠🐂
I realize other people, often brandishing money, are the ones recommending which versions of songs to listen to, but it's destroying everything. The first time one hears a song should, 99% of the time, be the studio version. A live performance, no matter how good its quality, just cannot compare with the sound fidelity and accuracy of the studio recording. You can never hear a song the first time again.
THE CARS, Benjamin Orr, was the Bass player and lead vocal to this awesome song ❣️
We had the best music during my 70s childhood. The late, great Benjamin Orr on lead vocals. May he and Ric RIP.
The Cars’ debut album is one of the strongest in Rock & Roll history. So many great songs!!!
I LOVE The Cars...Moving in Stereo & The Dangerous Type are great songs.
Beautiful and talented Benjamin Orr❤❤❤❤
I would've suggested the studio but this is cool. Their debut album, where this is from, is one of the best ever.
The Cars had all the ingrediencies for a Classic Rock Cruise no matter what kind of car you happen to have.
The Cars were a very important band.

The Cars were a bridge between the guitar-forward 70s and the synth-forward 80s.

Who else was singing along with the late great Benjamn Orr?

Not bad, but honestly, *Bye Bye Love* is my favorite Cars song featuring Benjamin Orr on lead vocals🤗
The Cars helped usher in the New Wave movement and their debut album is an absolute banger. I think 6 of the 10 songs on it were radio hits.
Such a great band with so many hits. One of the forerunners of New Wave.
Hard to believe 40 years since they played that song at Live Aid
Played the Cars all of the time❤❤❤
I will NEVER get tired of the CARS.
They broke the mold. Rock, New Wave and a bit of Bubble Gum.
Just a Bit Of Bubble Gum.... I smile, yep
This is when band members had instruments in their hands and didn't just sing along with digitally altered voices.
We had to settle for analog altered voices.
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee you like to argue don't you? Analog was raw.
@@glassontherocks Analog could be as raw as the Stooges or as airbrushed as ABBA...all comes down to what the producer wants to make of it.
@@Spo-Dee-O-DeeStill like to argue. It must suck to be that angry.
@@glassontherocks it sucks a lot less than being wrong.
Ben Orr was sure a good looking SOB. Great voice too.
My mother referred to him as 'Pretty'...now, hold with that one. He certainly is a good looking SOB. Thanks! =)
And that was actually a “Live” recording !
They nail everything but the backing vocals.
I suggest their song - Drive❤
Love them, great reaction 😊

Absolutely 🔥
