So happy to see this. I’ve been offered a job in AB(I live in northern Ontario). I’ve been driving OTR for 25 years(flatbed),and sold my truck in 2021. I’m a 52 y/o woman, and was worried about the chaining in the winter. After watching this,I think I’m going to fly out next month to meet this guy(potential employer),and see if this is for me. OTR was often 16 hours and up,so I think I’ll be able to handle the long hours. Wish me luck!
I just delivered a load of fuel to one of the sand plants in Crane, Tx. last night. It’s pretty cool to see the whole operation and also see the trucks getting loaded. I’m thoroughly enjoying this oilfield work though! It’s completely different than hauling fuel in the city the stores, gas stations, etc. As long as the wheels are turning here in the oilfield I think I’m here for the long run. Best money I’ve made ever in my short 18yrs of trucking. As for breakdowns I can attest to the price it costs, I broke down in the middle of Jal and Carlsbad on a lease road….cost my company $3,500 for 2 new tires…and it took them 8hrs to get to me! Luckily I’m paid by the hour!!! Love the videos and next stop 10k subscribers💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
That’s great man, I’m glad your finding success! The good thing about being a Company Driver is your not stuck with the bill! Keep it up! On our way to 10,000 subs before the end of the year!
Thank you, Mr, Wero Loco I myself have oilfield experience as Sulphur and crude oil for 5 yrs. And then went back to OTR for 4 yrs. But now I'm going back to the oilfield truck driver again. But I really appreciate it for your experience of frac sand and that's where I'm going to now @Fort McMurray, AL. Thank you again.
I leave tomorrow for Atlas Sands to stay at Jal, NM for orientation but I think I’ll be working out of monohans or Kermit once I get my schedule and stuff. Pretty hyped for it
I’m grateful for the information, I have a opportunity to haul frac sand boxes here on the east coast and I’m contemplating because I don’t want to jump into it and not make money and I’m sitting around all day. I really want to bring my truck to Texas and find work out there.
Thank you for that information. I'm new to the hauling business. I'm about to start working in Kermit Texas this week. Coming out of las cruces and ready to make some bucks for my family.
@@kayaalmanza7887 I'm actually working for High Crush as a night shift loader operator. We are the neighbors of Atlas. But I love it so far. I've been there for 6 months already and it's all super easy because it's all repetitive. Really good money too and lots of overtime out here.
I plan on moving down to Texas in 2 years to haul sand. I got my CDL at 23 and im 31 now and ive just been bouncing around from state to state banging chicks from highschool and living large and in charge but im ready to finally settle down somewhere and make a home for myself and Texas is the place. Buy a house, find a wife, make 16 babies, buy my first truck and get my authority, and just live my days out as a Texas Trucker. Shit sounds so hard, Texas Trucker 😂
Thanks for the info bro should be moving to Texas at the end of the year. I do port work now but I'm trying to jump into Sand or Oil Field any recommendations?
You have more patience than me, I could never mess with ports. I’d try getting on with Nextier, hazmat is required though. Pro Petro was hiring a few weeks ago for transport drivers.
I have 12 years hauling crude oil as an owner operator. I work up to 14 hours 6 days a week and get home every night. During the 12 years, I quit twice to go haul sand, lured by promises of big money. Both times, I found myself up at 3am ready to work as I was told to. 12 hours go by, then they send me loads and expect me to run 18+ hours. Lots of sitting around in staging areas waiting, never going home even if it was close. And you better not fall asleep or you'll miss your turn. These companies have a core group of drivers that they take care of and make great money im sure but they've made a business out of running people through their orientation that they charge $750 to $1000 for. Then you get treated like dirt and tired of sitting around making barely any money so you quit and move on. Then they dont even pay you for the little bit of work you did. So far, in my experience, unless you're connected, hauling sand is a scam and if you have any self respect you'd stay away. Even oilfield water haulers have it better.
Hey there brother, I am very excited to try to get into this field! I am a Veteran, and I've done quite a bit of work overseas, but I want to change my career. I know I need to start entry level, but my goal is owner operator! Please help me out to learn where to start!
Just left running frac sand for the past 6 years to going flatbed. Watched your flatbed, just started this one to see if you know what youre talking about lol
Hello I work in Seminole Texas as vac truck driver I have 1 year with my CDL class A and 6 months experience with select water services I would like to get my own truck I have hazmat and tankers endorsement but no expirence on hazmat what company would you recommend to apply for with no experience I been Trying to get hire on any but they ask 2 years experience I would like to drive with my own truck hauling crude oil
Good information. Aside from my injury, my biggest issue would be having enough energy for those long days, I would need to be taking amphetamine for the constant energy.
Question for you. I've had my Cdls for 20 yrs though I've not drove anywhere near that. I've worked construction most of that 20 years but i do have several years driving triaxle dumptrucks hauling rock and sand. Have lowboy experience hauling excavators, dozers, etc. I however don't have any otr experience or pneumatic trailer experience. How can I break into the frac sand business as a company driver with no otr exp? Thanks!
Spent 4 years on the pad. Wireline. Now going back to WTX to haul a pneumatic trailer. Thankful for this video. I was overthinking my fears of going back. They offered me a 28/5 schedule, am I getting raped there?
Listen I’m sick of everyone saying you can make “well over” 100k the shits so inconsistent and being away from home ain’t worth it… also if you made well over 100k why did you leave… your content is good stop just lying to these people. I’ve worked for halliburton and several water hauling and cementing companies and yes 50-70k is average for field service guys. Not no mfkn 100-200-300k. I left all that bs behind and am sipping martinis on the weekends in Florida local home EVERY NIGHT hauling heavy and making 92k the oilfield ain’t all everyone makes it out to be. It’s that simple. Show your check stubs if you hauled water at 100k a year or stop feeding people bs. Come with proof, Starting pay in Texas and Oklahoma for the positions you are talking about average 18$ an hour entry level to 25 for experience. I’ve worked in Oklahoma Permian and Barnett shale.
Thanks for commenting Keith. I’m glad your finding success and still able to be home with your family. I did say you would have to complete a lot of loads to make that 100k, sorry if I was not clear enough. Also I have made a video showing my check stubs from the oilfield already if you want to check that one out. I also explained why I’m taking a break from the oilfield in this video and my previous videos.
