Catholic is a Greek word meaning 'universal' church. We are the only faith with a direct lineage 'Apostolic line of succession that started with St Peter the first pope. It is this line of authority first given to Peter and this authority continues till today. This is why confession to a priest is so important. As Jesus said to Peter that which is bound on earth is bound in heaven and that whatever you loose on earth is loosed in heaven. Sola scriptura is not in the bible. The protestant reformation was a sad time on earth and in heaven the angels wept. Because it was around 400yrs after the death of Christ that the Catholic Church assembled the bible under direction of the Holy Spirit. This is why bible alone falls over when scrutinised also as Luther removed books from the bible. Before the Bible was the Septuagint which is what the early church used. Worth looking into, even containing how the mass is to be celebrated. But we are all brothers and sister's under God. Praise and worship is to be given to God alone. Do you want to know what the single biggest detriment as to whether a child will keep to the faith when they reach adulthood? If the father actively lives his faith. Mothers are important as well, but it seems that if the father is the one getting everyone out of bed and dressed for church, those children end up sticking to the faith.
@@Wolfschanzeful I can back that. I was raised Catholic by my grandmother. The only father I ever had was the most high however the private middle school next to our church turned me to Satan. No one to guide me and at that age and I was too young to notice signs or even feel anything with a nonreligious mother on top. Now that I'm 30 and after a very very long life, full of regret and pain, me being the last alive I've learned I had st. Michael with me this whole time. He's been in combat with Satan inside me forever. Ive had everything anyone could ever want and everything everyone would not want. I can tell you if I had the proper guidance I would have saved 1000 lives by now. Luckily my path was already written and from what I've become after walking through true fire for what seems like an eternity, I am stronger then any influence from Lucifer. If one has a sour taste of religion then they need to learn forgiveness, redemption, empathy and unconditional love. It takes the smallest nudge to commit the most horrendous crimes and those are EASILY committed without Jesus in your life and also without guidance. If I had a father that was Catholic I can tell you I would be equally as strong however without a life of sin, pain, and harming of others. God bless!!

Most priests are like him in their own way It's just that scandal/bad news spreads really fast. Catholics are Christians too, so "Christian, but" is almost interesting to put. But I'm glad you stumbled upon him and loved his preaching. You tried Bishop Barron, or breaking in the habit, or upon friar review, too? I love them just as much, adding their own spice. I love the priests, almost every single one I've met in my country, Nigeria. Trust me, a very huge percentage of priests are lovely and great dads to say the least. It warms my heart. Better to have all of his word every single day on media! How often do you get 5 minutes with our parish priests? They visit the aged & sick, go to hospitals, feed the homeless. I am low on his list and I guess I should say, thank God! He gives me the Eucharist and no one can do more!

I have listened to your podcast Bible in a year which I found quite helpful in understanding the meaning of our religion and now I am at Day 254 of the Catechism in a year and day by day am learning more and more about myself and our Church As a 50+years convert to Christ and Catholisism I am still not sure how and when to pray as well as if I am doing it right! So I will keep trying to pray as best I can!!!!❤😊
Father Mike is very good indeed. If you're into some more intensive stuff, I really really recommend listening to Fr Ripperger. He's an exorcist and he gives tons and tons of good talks / homilies. Like I said, he's more intensive than father mike and not as "easy going" per se, but still very very good.

I know a man that became a born again pastor. He was Catholic but opened his own church as a non denomination pastor. I work for a non profit and he came to speak to a group early in their recovery. Sadly only two people showed up and he was disappointed by the low attendance. i mentioned to him the impact he had on one of the attendees and that was a tremendous achievement. He could have ten people there but if no one's life was changed would it be a great thing that he had a large audience or a greater thing that one life was changed. It's not about the crowd but how many you reach. I am reminded of a story about a starfish.... A man was walking along a beach one morning and off in the distance he could see perhaps thousands of starfish stranded on the sand as the result of the tide. He was struck by the sight of someone going back and forth frantically throwing the starfish back into the surf. There were so many it seemed a futile task. As he came upon the person he said, “There are thousands of miles of beach covered with starfish. You can't possibly make a difference, it's useless, how can what you are doing matter? Most of them are sure to perish anyway." The person looked at him, then stooped down to pick up another starfish and threw it back into the sea. He turned back to the man and said, "It mattered to that one".
Fr. Mike does such a fantastic job of spreading God's word in a way that is easy understand and very enticing to share. May God bless him and all that Fr. MIKE does to make Jesus real for each one of us. Thanks be to God for His gift of Fr. Mike.

Do you want to know what the single biggest detriment as to whether a child will keep to the faith when they reach adulthood? If the father actively lives his faith. Mothers are important as well, but it seems that if the father is the one getting everyone out of bed and dressed for church, those children end up sticking to the faith.
@@Wolfschanzeful I can back that. I was raised Catholic by my grandmother. The only father I ever had was the most high however the private middle school next to our church turned me to Satan. No one to guide me and at that age and I was too young to notice signs or even feel anything with a nonreligious mother on top. Now that I'm 30 and after a very very long life, full of regret and pain, me being the last alive I've learned I had st. Michael with me this whole time. He's been in combat with Satan inside me forever. Ive had everything anyone could ever want and everything everyone would not want. I can tell you if I had the proper guidance I would have saved 1000 lives by now. Luckily my path was already written and from what I've become after walking through true fire for what seems like an eternity, I am stronger then any influence from Lucifer. If one has a sour taste of religion then they need to learn forgiveness, redemption, empathy and unconditional love. It takes the smallest nudge to commit the most horrendous crimes and those are EASILY committed without Jesus in your life and also without guidance. If I had a father that was Catholic I can tell you I would be equally as strong however without a life of sin, pain, and harming of others. God bless!!

It's just that scandal/bad news spreads really fast. Catholics are Christians too, so "Christian, but" is almost interesting to put. But I'm glad you stumbled upon him and loved his preaching. You tried Bishop Barron, or breaking in the habit, or upon friar review, too? I love them just as much, adding their own spice. I love the priests, almost every single one I've met in my country, Nigeria. Trust me, a very huge percentage of priests are lovely and great dads to say the least. It warms my heart. But thank you for your honesty, and I pray God is with you now and always, amen.

Better to have all of his word every single day on media! How often do you get 5 minutes with our parish priests? They visit the aged & sick, go to hospitals, feed the homeless. I am low on his list and I guess I should say, thank God! He gives me the Eucharist and no one can do more!

Bible in a year which I found quite helpful in understanding the meaning of our religion and now I am at Day 254 of the Catechism in a year and
day by day am learning more and more about myself and our Church As a 50+years convert to Christ and Catholisism I am still not sure how and when to pray as well as if I am doing it right! So I will keep trying to pray as best

Father Mike is very good indeed. If you're into some more intensive stuff, I really really recommend listening to Fr Ripperger. He's an exorcist and he gives tons and tons of good talks / homilies. Like I said, he's more intensive than father mike and not as "easy going" per se, but still very very good.

43:05-43:16 my biggest obstacle to praying.
I know a man that became a born again pastor. He was Catholic but opened his own church as a non denomination pastor. I work for a non profit and he came to speak to a group early in their recovery. Sadly only two people showed up and he was disappointed by the low attendance. i mentioned to him the impact he had on one of the attendees and that was a tremendous achievement. He could have ten people there but if no one's life was changed would it be a great thing that he had a large audience or a greater thing that one life was changed. It's not about the crowd but how many you reach.
I am reminded of a story about a starfish.... A man was walking along a beach one morning and off in the distance he could see perhaps thousands of starfish stranded on the sand as the result of the tide. He was struck by the sight of someone going back and forth frantically throwing the starfish back into the surf. There were so many it seemed a futile task. As he came upon the person he said, “There are thousands of miles of beach covered with starfish. You can't possibly make a difference, it's useless, how can what you are doing matter? Most of them are sure to perish anyway." The person looked at him, then stooped down to pick up another starfish and threw it back into the sea. He turned back to the man and said, "It mattered to that one".
Fr. Mike does such a fantastic job of spreading God's word in a way that is easy understand and very enticing to share.
May God bless him and all that Fr. MIKE does to make Jesus real for each one of us.
