Theres already been a person to sing in space, and he played guitar. His Name is Chris Hadfield and he played and sang David Bowies Space oddity on the ISS, where he was also commander.
Singing in space and being the first singer in space are very close to the same thing, but I'm confident that because Hadfield wasn't a singer by trade that it still just barely counts. I guess if we replaced the words "first singer" with "first vocalist" it might be more acceptable.
At the time of this episode it was 2012. I believe Hadfield did it in 2013. But you are correct he was the first to do it in space since Brightman canceled her trip.

Wish american TV was this open and free flowing. James Corden, I think, is the English version of Chris Farley. Like Farley, Corden is a great physical comedian and has great comedic delivery. Ayoade was funny as hell in this vid with his BJ thing....so funny.

it's basically just a gimmicky excuse to have comedians banter. it's sort of a faux game show, but there's no real winners or losers, it's just for the sake of having fun. mock the week is similar, they do it almost like jepoardy mixed with who's line is it anyway, where they pick a topic, sort fo tell jokes around a recent news thing, then take breaks by, picking a topic and doing a minute or so of stand up comedy about it.
