I am 84 and i still have wants in this world, i have an auto debt 12 months then i'll be free as a bird, i lived in Berlin, but i still want to see Zurich and then some.....
The man I fell in love with committed suicide at age 27 in 2018, from military Ptsd. Immediately after I became severely deppressed. I myself almost went down that same pathway, but I couldn't get myself to actually do it knowing that the immense pain I felt from his suicide I would then pass it onto my mother and 3 sister's/ 2 brother's. Although he committed suicide and I hate him for doing it, I'm still in support of assistant suicide for EVERYONE those that are sick, those that have no medical illnesses, young & old. My experience made me understand that noone has the right to tell anyone to continue living if that person DOESN'T WANT TO. Although we may never understand their reason for doing it, it is not for us to understand. You must live your life and let other's do as they want with their's. I will forever miss you Brian Joseph Terra ❤.
People deserve dignity and respect and need to be able to be the one that navigates their own lives or death. Who has the right to deny this to anyone? Right to life and right to death.
Different people believe different things. That's fine. I just can't imagine trying to impose MY belief systems on somebody else, i.e. "well, I don't believe in assisted suicide, therefore, it shouldn't be an option for YOU, either." Seems pretty foolish, really.
The old lady of 92 years should be friggin grateful she is alive and well. She walks unaided and is independent. Her daughter is right. Live your life through to the end. Be friggin grateful. It sickens me to see elderly people not appreciate the fact that they have lived so long. Many people die young through illnesses or accidents.
I think it's beautiful that the old man with dementia postponed his assisted suicide decision for so long that it became too late for him to make. It reveals how people naturally want to stay alive.
It's not that hard to understand lol. They want to pick the date so they know when they will die, instead of it being an unknown and steady tournament. They're also scared of having an accident or a sudden health problem that causes them to become handicap. Afraid of not being able to move, speak, or even communicate through writing, and above all, PAIN! Imagine living life with all those 3 factors for year's and year's, until you die of natural old age. That seems like hell to me. I definitely understand them. (I'm 29 myself)
U dont know where the coming from.. being old means , the things that they can do are limited. I think choosing your own death and die with dignity is amazing!
Euthanasia is a good thing and should be allowed under certain circumstances. But, I don't agree with the woman who said that "It's not natural to live this long, people in poor countries die younger". It's not true. I'm from a developing country and even here it's very common to live 90 years old. It's not unnatural.
God is the one that gives you life and the only one that should be allowed to end it. We did not give ourselves life and our parents were just the creative vessels. But God is the one that made us by giving us that ability to mate. I watched my brother go down to nothing with cancer. He was in complete agony with no relief at all! Nothing touched the pain. He told me that so many things go thru your mind when you have cancer, things like not wanting to be here anymore and taking your own life. Because the pain is so incredibly unbearable. I'm so thankful he trusted God enough to let Him do what he needed to do. His will had to be done. And my brother touched a lot of lives before he passed away. His job was done on this earth. Everybody has their own opinion and belief and this is mine.
Brenda Lindsay, I agree with you. My husband is ill with Alzheimer, but he still enjoys life, a good meal, nature and the love we give to him. And faith gives me real comfort. One day, he'll leave us, naturally, but it was a great gift to be with him. Those who believe in nothing may laugh at me, ist doesn't matter to me.
Why do you find it hard to understand ? Enough of life...is when it's " enough for them " either way I feel it's a selfish thing to say, it's just not about you mum....it is and to share that moment off mum ending her life, with you by her side...I don't believe for one moment, your mum never thought off your feelings, once
Caroline Ellis The daughter can't grasp someone she loves deciding to not continue. She's showing both dread and love. I understand, but a woman at her mother's age with a healthy mind is old enough yo make a decision. However the daughter probably has children who she doesn't want to ever consider suicide, understandably.
God Almighty should be the only one who takes life. if you do comet suicide I don't believe God will let in to heaven if you do that. if you are ternaly Il go to a doctor and have them give you something strong for pain. God will take you when he is ready don't end your life your self or have help doing so. God is Not pleased with that.
Why would God kill people? Why did he take my 8 week old grandson and my 33 year old daughter? Don't we all have the urge to live as long as we can and as well as we can? God does not take people.
Athletic Freedom sorry for the lost but understand this all of us rich poor wise fool we are dust we have to die no one will live forever, God is not a murderer He is the owner of our soul of He want back you can't tell Him stop, but He can give you back if He want.
I refuse to accept what you say. I have read the Bible and I have made my decisions. If God takes your relatives then he is a nasty horrible God. But I know God is love and that my relatives are with him in his care but not in heaven, He is keeping them for a grander plan a Kingdom on earth. I don't belon g to any church and would never ever approach a priest or vicar for help. They are all part of false religion
