In general the 1300 GS is an improved machine comparing to the predecessor 1250 GS. The bike feels and behaves better in every aspect. It’s more nimble lightweight and better maneuverable but despite all that you have to recognize is a big bike! Love what they’ve made with the new GS 1300. It’s a new and much intelligent/ capable bike.😊
Yeah, a sad situation. I stayed later with the guy and checked up on him. He was fine. The bike is an Indian and survived the crash in not a bad shape. Best thing is that we stayed in contact and allegedly the van driver returned to the scene later.
I follow your videos carefully becouse I appreciate your job very much.. so I notified a crash between the van and the bike left of you..hope biker is ok..
You forgot con number 11 or did you? Maybe part of BMW giving you the bike to test, was not to mention the luggage cases can fall off. And hence can now not be purchased with bike till june 2025 until a modification is made.Correct me if i am wrong, or if i am right delete the comment. You tube bloggers are now becoming like mainstream media, telling you 90% of the story, in order to maintain favor with product supplier.
@96morran You would have to ask motoradd that Question. They have for last 10 years consistently released motorcycles with know longevity items fitted that fail in first 6 months, reverse gear modules on K1600,s for example that have entered the 6th year of production do. They probably allow for 5% of retail price of motorcycles to fund warranty work instead of spending that on component quality and R&D.
Yes I’ve heard the same regarding panniers there’s a delay, but I didn’t know why - physically falling off the bike is fairly catastrophic so probably a wise move by BMW if that’s true.
By the speed you overtake cars in the city you are quite the hooligan 😅 You obviously have exceptionally quick reflexes and instincts but you must be prepared for those to fade as the years go by and luck runs out…😢 Always remember Cristian Predoi from Racing&Adventure YT channel who was also a very ‘enthusiastic’ rider that found his demise on a big GS of all bikes… Stay safe 🙏🙏
but other youtubers say that the behaviour of the ASA changes according to the riding modes, e.g. in dynamic mode the shifter becomes more aggressive, can you please clarify your opinion on this?
I haven’t noticed any difference in terms of how and when the gears are changed by the bike. Throttle response is different in different modes but I’m not sure whether this affects the transmission.
What happened to the dude who crashed? I agree. The previous GS1250 is better. The new GS1300 range is not great looking especially the GSA1300, ugly. Never buy one.
The rider was mostly fine with no evident injuries afterwards. The bike ended up scratched but not terribly. We weren’t sure whose fault it had been so I gave him the video later hoping it would help. The van driver allegedly came back later after making a U-Turn afterwards.

Ohh wow, there was a crash at 10:22. Hope the bro is ok!
Damn Indian Springfield
Looked like that rider may need a few lessons.
Yeah, we stayed later and he seemed fine just shaken a bit. The bike didn’t get too damaged thankfully.
Poor guy on a Harley crashed as he tried to pass the van at @10:22
Surely you stopped to check on him.
Was a Indian Springfield

If you switch to dynamic the auto switches gear later/ higher in the rpm's
Interesting review.
Thanks!

Why would BMW wait until June to fix that?

Why can’t a bike just be a bike without all this fancy tech!!!!

The new GS 13 is better, in most ways. Nobody makes a worse, new gen bike, especially BMW whether you prefer the 1250 or 1300 is irrelevant.
BMW do so they make all new wors both cars and bikes
yes it looks small you right,,,,1250 looked better and more adventure look,,,
30k euros ... What public is this geared at? Mr. Brain Surgeon and Mr. Dentist?
They sell so fast, if you buy one now, it arrives in April!
@vtold Did you ever try to change a car from an automatic to a stick shift? Funny statement
😊
