For reference I've only used this stuff on electric, I'm not saying these products don't work, but every time I've tried to use either Dunlop Ultraglide, or Fast Fret, they ruin my strings faster than if I didn't use anything at all. I wash my hands before playing, wipe strings down after, etc. My deductive reasoning tells me its this stuff.
It's a really cool solution, I use it on my acoustic after each session. It really helps to prolong the feeling and the sound of new strings - the brightness, the metallic shine, especially noticeable on lower notes. I apply it, then get a piece of cloth under the strings and thoroughly clean each string and the neck. One downside for me is that for a while, the sliding noises become way louder, and you can even hear a high-pitched squeal whenever you're sliding on a string - did someone else encounter that as well? Other than that, I'm enjoying it very much, got my bottle 3 months ago and used maybe 1/5th of it so far.
If I had unlimited money I would change my strings once an hour. I play 10 hour sessions as a student and even while restringing they start to corrode. I restring my Floyd rose weekly and that’s with wiping the strings down every 30 minutes and after I’m done playing along with consistent hand washing. Hopefully this keeps them nice. I can deal with sound darkening but when my strings start to feel like saw blades it’s scary to do a fast slide and worry your going to end up bone on string.
@jakepoolmusic7061 I have this particular lubricant for my guitar. I had it for 5 and a half years. I definitely have to try it out again. Surprisingly, the fabric on the applicant hasn't worn out. And surprisingly, the bottle still has plenty of oil in it. It's still full like I haven't used it, ever. Even though I managed to use this bottle dozens of times a long time ago. Also, what would you recommend I do if it's a bit hard to make the lube come out of the bottle. I remember a few years back, I tried shaking the bottle before opening the bottle. putting it upside down, and rubbing the applicant across my strings. but nothing came out. i even tried to twist the applicant part off to see if that's a solution. but i doubt that will work. so i'm wondering if I have to maybe shake the bottle harder in order to apply the lube to the strings. and again, my bottle is still full of oil. i used this bottle so many times. and the fabric is still on the applicant. It still smells good too. So glad you found this oil. I will definitely dig this out, and try it on my strings I put on my LTD Viper 50 guitar a month ago. I'll definitely try this on my new Yamaha Jr. 2 guitar I picked up in June this year. Since the strings are started to sound dead. Lol.
Does anyone know what's in Dunlop 65 string cleaner? I have an extremely serious neurological condition. I've been ill 6 years. Until a few months ago I was having seizures 24 7, couldn't walk or feed myself and arranging euthanasia. Then I started healing. I can't go near chemicals. I can't go near perfume, washing powder, bleach, furniture smells, air freshener, glue, parcel tape etc. I react to everything with MCAS. I can only eat 4 foods and drink water. As I was healing. I picked up the guitar after 6 years. I ran out of my Kyser string cleaner and they do don't make it anymore. I found some Dunlop string cleaner. It's in a stupid bottle with a sponge. I used to use Kyser spray. Pump it on a cloth and soak it then put it under each string. The dirt it always underneath. Not the top. This Dunlop was useless. I tried squeezing it and pushing the sponge to try and get it on the cloth. Hardly anything came out. I used what I could. I completely forgot it was on my fingers and put my finger up my nostril. I'm now having seizures and can't stand up, burning up. Spaced out. I breathed in glue fumes at the beginning of the year and was in hospital 8 times. I was only just healing after 6 months where I nearly died. I'm REALLY REALLY WORRIED NOW. I was only discharged from the neuro rehab team yesterday! Does anyone know what's in the cleaner? Is it toxic. If its a solvent, I am in SERIOUS TROUBLE. I thought it was natural.

Nearly ASMR with that demo on acoustic strings

Spaced out.
