Ideally it does need the Lux or Lite Carry Cot to use from birth, but if not you can just use the lie flat car seat it comes with as long as your not leaving baby in for really legnthy periods every day.. The Lux is quite a bit cheaper, but looks just as good if you wanted a carry cot option too.
