  • In this tutorial I will show you how to make an Image module automatically fill the entire height of the column in Divi.

I’ve seen a few people ask how to do this several times, so I thought I would make the answer official. This could technically be done easily using a background image in a column, but then the image would not have any SEO value, so people ask how to do with an Image module. It’s actually pretty easy, and in this tutorial I will show you how to make an Image module automatically fill the entire height of the column in Divi.

genius - I have been struggling with getting an overlay image on a background image to maintain the same height as the background image. this fixed it. thank you so much!

good video - but how would you do something like this utlizing the speciality tab and using the 2nd from the top - where you have the following:
    1. 2 column where the 1st column is full height and width
    2. 2nd column has a full width WITHIN its column and then 2 boxes/module sections below it
How would you keep the height the same across BOTH columns as the content grows?
I find myself having to do a hacky way of adding padding so the bg image will grow.
    Thanks in advance

Hiya - I was wondering if you could help with this concept but with the divi gallery slider images - I can't find the div style for them so i can set their heights at 100% :)

what beats me is adding a background image to column 1 and a different image to column 2 I can NEVER get the content to align. The background images never fill the column even if you set a specific height.

Is there any way to do this with 4 columns and the text and media pair need to be combined as a media-text block in guterberg. What I meant that I need to get the final result with two pairs of combined media and text.

How do you do this with a blurb image?

I have a related problem with the blog module where I instead need to restrict the height of images because the editorial team just upload their image without any re-sizing and sometimes they're far too tall to work. Can anything similar be done to restrict the height of an image?

    • @PeeAyeCreative

That is not related to this tutorial. There are image optimization plugins that have settings for that.

But can't ypu just add the image to the column background. It's the same thing and add equal column heights too. Simple. Done.

Maybe try watching the video or read the very good reason why...simple. Done.
