@@JayCactusTV It's cause a lot of them are gatekeeping. They want to maintain an audience, so they don't really want their subscribers getting too good. Not saying all of them, but many aren't very helpful, and some even teach things that are completely incorrect.

Been producing for about 10 years, mostly dirty south/trap style drums. I never really wanted to jump on the drill train because it's way too saturated right now, but I'm glad I still gave your video a shot. I underestimated the power of slide notes in FL and your use of zero velocity notes to hard cut samples blew my mind. That's a game changer for workflow on stuff like open hats and cymbals. I love finding out new stuff all these years in. Thanks for the content.

To be able to produce drill this well is a skill, but to TEACH how to do this is a whole different LEVEL of skill! I've been a Logic Pro producer for the longest time, made drill with it, but I really think FL Studio is where it's at for making drill especially. Picking up FL has been one of the most worthwhile investments I've made, and watching tutorials like these for FREE, is a genuine privilege.

Great video! The only thing I would say is exporting the stems at 16-bit, I would advise 24-bit - everyone should be working at 24-bit. If the artist gets the track mixed and there’s a stem at a lower level that needs to come up dramatically for the mix, 24-bit means there’s plenty of resolution to make that quieter sound louder. At 16-bit a really quiet sound made loud will start to sound a bit grainy. I would definitely be recording the vocals at 24-bit so the whole beat is gonna get moved into a 24-bit project anyway, may as well start there and get the benefit of the extra quality. Otherwise I found this really helpful from a production and FL tutorial point of view.
Use 32bit instead.
@@SpacedOutDoonie Logic Pro (as one example) can’t handle 32-bit floating point wavs so it converts them to 24-but fixed when you import them so that would be one reason to use 24-bit. 32-bit floating is a bit of a gimmicky format, any recorded audio can only be a maximum 24-bit fixed because that’s what converters go up to, 32-bit floating is for internal processing in the DAW - the daw will convert to and from 32-bit without you worrying about it. 24-bit has been a professional format for the last ~20 years.

i'm starting to get back into making uk drill (i'm from the us) and this is the most comprehensive tutorial i've seen
a little tip for instant drill bounce: echo delay/fat mode within the channel, which can be found by clicking the wrench
i use that some times and you can still do fast rolls and change pitches and depending on how much delay you use it can give a busier sound
it's not always the best thing to do with hihats but it's a nice little shortcut
