In my 50’s and NO film has affected me like this. What Celine and these women created and showed me I have not seen or experienced before. Deserved even so much more than it won. Celine wants to inspire other film makers to different ways to show love and equality and I hope she has. This is not only an incredible film but it is also written and directed by a woman from the LGBT+ community. Supporting this film tells the film industry that we want more of this!! This is a masterpiece of cinema and it should be watched in a theatre, not on a laptop screen. xx

There are plenty of films written and directed by members of the LGBT community that I haven't seen because they don't appeal to me (Dear Simon for an example). The reason why I love this film and why I want it to be supported is because I think it's amazing but also as a gay women the fact that it was written and directed by a gay woman is an added bonus for me personally. I love film and there's nothing wrong with me being happy that there is a film I believe is genuinely good that also makes me feel represented in every aspect of it and there's nothing wrong with me wanting that film to be successful. Not to mention saying that any good film will be monetarily successful just isn't true, especially a foreign film with a small budget made by a relatively small production company and a lesser known director/screenwriter.

I adore French women! Noemie and Adele are absolutely beautiful in this film! They suspended my disbelief as only Oscar worthy actresses can. Celine created an artistic masterpiece! I love being able to escape my world for theirs: I can smell the burning candle wax, taste the wine they sip, and feel their pleasure and heartbreak. Why? Experience. Lesson learned? You can't have love without the pain of losing. It's the price we all must pay for loving someone. Bless you for making this video! 💜

I’m not french but do believe that this movie would not have the same impact if made in Hollywood. It just has something so unique & beautiful that I don’t feel any Hollywood movie has. I’ve seen many movies including Carol. I liked Carol but it just lacked something for me. In Portrait I felt everything. I felt the love, I felt the intimacy & especially the pain. For two & a bit hours i lived their life.

This is the best movie I’ve ever seen and serious impacted my feelings on love. It’s so heartbreaking that they didn’t end up together and for once I wanted them too. Beautifully written, filmed and acted and even the choice of attire, dialogue was extraordinarily done. The one thing that affected me the most was the look or gaze of both women from start to finish. I knew what they were feeling and thinking with just the gaze they gave each other. The effectiveness of that gaze was the most erotic, sensual, sexy and at the same time magnetic thing I’ve ever seen on film. I was speechless and couldn’t look away from the screen. Like the other patrons in the movie, I sat there motionless after it ended knowing that what was just portrayed was something that was a touching and changing lifetime moment. I would rather experience love like that in two weeks than anything less for a longer time. 😯 😘
