In terms of countrywise ownership India is still the number one globally by far. Indian households have 30K tons of Gold. Though they are not owned by the GoI through rhe Reserve Bank or otherwise that is also a good hedge. ModiJi should open at least two more Gold exchanges, like that in Ahmadabad, both preferably in the South in Kerala and Tamilnad.
