- This is Kodiak Island Part 1. The whole Stuck N The Rut team is on this hunt Travis, Trevor, Tom, Tana, and Adam with a pocket full of blacktail deer and mountain goat tags. After a couple days of flying and moving luggage, we finally made it to Kodiak Island. On the first day of the hunt, we were working our way up the Mountain and Tana got really sick, so Tom stayed back with her to keep her company as Travis, Trevor, and Adam made it to the Mountain Goats and knocked down 3 just sitting in one spot. Great hunt! I lived on Kodiak in 1977 and 78. It was great goat hunting back then and I am glad it still is. So many places have changed over time. Used to be some good fishing too on the Karluk. Happy hunting guys.

You can be a very good and experienced shooter but if you shoot animals too far away that's what can happen. That poor goat suffered a lot. I am an hunter too but i keep distances shorter, never wounded an animal.
Also quit flingin lead at skylit animals. A lot more people and boats around the rock than you'd think.
