    I love his naturally comic delivery. The use of the word "bollocks" is pure class.
    Shame he's not around any more.

    Met John at a gig at Reading Uni sometime in the early eighties..he was as articulate and funny as you see him here. Very sad day when he went...

    Absolutely miss John, miss being able to tune in on my way home from work and listen to the angry death metal followed by jungle followed by punk followed by blues with that fantastic voice in between - you were always guaranteed to hear something good, something new, something interesting. Nobody has or ever will come close.

    Thank you so much for posting this,I have never seen it before,its made me quite sad in a strange sort of way because I still find it hard to think that John isnt around anymore,its difficult to think of a man who has touched so may peoples lives in the way that John Peel has done, he is irreplacable.

    I remember listening to him back in the 80ies a lot on BFBS in Germany. What an eye-opener! I cannot recall how often I wished to find DJs like him who play all kinds of Music as long as it is good. Please, how boring is the very idea of a DJ playing one style only the whole night... miss you Mr. Peel!

    I am not really into the idea of cloning people but John Peel may be the only person who could be subject to that kind of experiment! he 's so unique!what a voice! what a career! absolute respect!

    Genuine to everyone. You could phone Radio 1 when his show was on (as I did in the late 1980s) and he would answer and happily chat to you (if a song was being played at the time). The same cannot be said for Andy Kershaw who would just pick up and hang up!

    r.i.p mr peel, utter legend.
    to whoever rote the nick drake comment, your rite, that is one show i wish someone had taped! i know we have a few minutes of it, but such a shame the interview, if there was one never survived.
    and to those who hate john peel, sit down with a cup of hot tea and either pour it slowly over yourself or just drink it slowly and think of what a waste of space you are

    I can't believe how every goddamn video linked to something musical has the most retarded comments;...so much hate and fucking flatout stupid comments. Now I think I know why. Everyone 'loves' music..but not everyone can accept that their opinion is JUST AN OPINION...
    My opinion: John Peel is awesome

  • @markiewatson
    @markiewatson 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    who made you judge and jury, abusing is a misleading and wrongful word for consensual sex. Im not condoning underage sex and have 3 young kids of my own but John Peels conscience about taking part in a consensual act it with teenage girls is totally different to praying on young children and raping or abusing them in a very sick and predatory manor. I hope his wife and children dont have to hear such malevolent accusations. Have you read his autobiography finished by his wife after his death

    You could also apply that theory to Jonathan King. Because he's a homosexual make things any different? I don't think so.

    go read his book , that is assuming you can read by your very silly comments. Writing what you did , you obviously never listened to any of his show or know how he was respected by many people from many genre's of music, most of it NOT mainstream.
