Sailboat Renovation: The Ultimate Wharram Raka36 Build Video

We buy a Wharram Raka 36 racing catamaran that has been in storage for some time. The previous owners started building the boat from scratch in 1995 and were not able to finish their dream of building her, due to medical issues. We took the project on and finished her ourselves. This video shows the good, bad, and ugly of buying a project boat.

Hey, heyyyy… we weren’t originally planning on sharing our journey on TH-cam so all this was filmed by me (Amanda) with the phone. Alex threw this up on the channel for Tom (the previous builder). He got half way through the build before becoming wheelchair bound and couldn’t even come out to see the hulls moved from his own backyard. He was watching it to keep his spirits up and just passed this year.
We started sharing because we’ve had a ton of interest in the boat (we brought it from Washington to Mexico this year) but also for Tom. The build of this boat started in 1995 and we got it into the water for the first time in July 2020.
We’re a younger family and the future is vertical format videos (shorts & vlogs). That’s what I’ll be sharing mostly on our channel because it’s how my friends and family view content. So you’re right our channel is probably not going to work for you.
And FYI “Ultimate” is subjective there’s multiple meanings… in this case “being or happening at the end of a process; final” is the one he was going for since it was a compilation of all the work that happened to get it to that point.
