      If there’s enough love shown, The Scientist might get a regular slot!

    Thanks bud! I think I might just sell my fx30 and pick up the zve1

    • @jonathanshilton

      I deliberated for a while whether to get the FX30 as it looks a great camera. In the end the low light capabilities of the full frame ZV E1 is what won me over.
      I don’t think you’ll regret the switch.

    Hi, i’ve been shooting with the zve1 in slog but the results are not always easy to achieve. I’m interested in seeing how you go about the colour grading, if you are using a lut and how you expose your shots :)

      Thanks for watching Alex. I will be making a video on this subject soon. I too found it a bit tricky to begin with, but I now have it down to a very quick process which gets good results every time. I do use the Phantom LUT’s on all my SLOG-3 footage, predominantly the ARRI, Neutral look.

    Hello Jonathan , great video ,you've convinced to buy this camera for my channel The lens you using 11mm Sony APSC is ok for the ZV-E1? + 1 subscriber like 14 , well done , have nice week.

    • @jonathanshilton
      @jonathanshilton  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, the Sony 11mm APSC works great with the ZV-E1. You just need to zoom in 1.5 x using clear image zoom to get past the vignetting you get when using APSC lenses on a full frame camera. This then works as a 16.5mm lens equivalent and allows for a great light weight set up.
      If you did want to get a full frame 16mm lens instead, I’d go for the Viltrox 16mm which is a similar price around $500.
      Thanks for watching and subscribing!

      what about when using dynamic stabilization? How much additional clear image zoom is needed to fully eliminate vignetting when walking and the sensor is shifting? How much is the image quality affected?

    • @jonathanshilton
      @jonathanshilton  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bladerealm124 I have dynamic stabalization off as I’m using a gimbal when shooting. I have it zoomed in 1.5 times which takes out the vignetting. It makes the 11mm lens in to a 16.5mm equivalent and don’t notice the quality is effected. I am going to do another video about all of this and the set up I use soon.
      Thanks for watching.

      @@jonathanshilton Ah Sorry!! It was a reference to the weather, I think. You said something like we had 10 days of good weather. I left the UK 23 years ago and the weather was a big part of it.

    What lens is it. 11mm apsc but what brand? Also whats the effects? Thats crazy wide.

    • @jonathanshilton
      @jonathanshilton  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s the Sony 11mm APSC lens. You have to crop in as it’s an APSC lens on a full frame camera. But using clear image zoom, there is little quality loss.
      The 11mm with the 1.5 x crop becomes 16.5mm equivalent, so it’s not crazy wide.
      I don’t use this set up much any more as I have recently bought the Viltrox 16mm full frame lens, which is excellent and I have a video coming up soon about that.
      Thanks for watching!

      Which focal length have you been using on that 11mm to have everything in focus?.

      I’m enjoying using the ZV E1. Got it paired with the Viltrox 16mm f1.8 lens now for shooting real estate, which is working out great now. I’ll do a video on this combo soon too!
      Thanks for watching and for the sub!

    which gimble you using it with? i;m thinking its a good size for the rs 3 mini

    • @jonathanshilton
      @jonathanshilton  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I’m using the RS3 Mini. It’s a great gimbal and I love using it. Super small and lightweight. The best thing about it is that it’s got Bluetooth functionality so you can control the shutter with it without having to connect any wires.
      Thanks for watching and I appreciate you taking your time to comment.
