I feel joy and sadness in this song and just want to dance it out and sing along, it's just an overflow of a lot of things. The vibe is so spot on stuff you want to say but keep it to yourself.
Now that I know the backstory of this song it means so much more to me, I have a similar history and I could never articulate how I feel about my mother in way that was meaningful enough that those around me would understand, I’m looked at as crazy for wanting her. This was a confirmation that I need to be that person in my life, and show up for myself in the ways I always needed.

Dear Jonny, I started listening to The Drums back in High School when the first album dropped, it was basically the soundtrack of my early youth and first heartbreak, after all these years with this album where its just you, makes everything so special and even more nostalgic than the first time..
