Ahhh, it’s hard when they’re toddlers. I’m a Grandma with 4 kids aged 6-25 and I can assure you this age is always tricky and changes in routine are hard for most little ones. You’re doing amazing. You’re both so patient and you have loads of energy so just remember to look after each other. Eat well, sleep as well as you can and enjoy these times when they’re young. It literally goes in the blink of an eye, you turn round and they’re 25… 🥰🛬🏝🏠🌊🏍👨👩👦💞
Miki Avidan - great comment and I'm an empty nester, it's too quiet and you're right in a blink of an eye they're adults. When you're pregnant for the first time it's only 10 seconds after your baby's born when the shock hits you and you think "bloody hell I have a real baby", also the worrying doesn't stop when they're 18yrs old as that never goes away. The best high in the world is after the birth holding your baby. Love from the UK. 🇬🇧👍
Welcome to the TERRIBLE TWOS. What Jack likes right now he's going to hate in 5 minutes. I now have four adult kids best advice I can give you is take a deep breath, hold on tight, and don't give in, if he screams in public take him outside and who cares what people think good luck you guys are great parents not going to lie it's not going to be easy, but you'll do it ♥️
...and if he screams while on a flight take him... to the bathroom? Just kidding. In 2017 I read that babies and little kids have a lot of ear pressure during flights- not sure how they would have tested that out though.
I’m so glad you guys made it back home to Hawaii safely (despite the long rough flight)! I’m sorry that you guys are battling through Jack’s tantrums, he’s at that age and I’m sure all the sudden changes are affecting him as well, just remember that it is all temporary and things will settle back into a new normal once you get into your new home in 2 weeks! I’m stoked for your new home, it’s going to be an absolute game changer for all of you to have more room but still being in the same area it truly worked out perfectly! And I’m sure that Jack is going to be obsessed with the new electric bike in a few days once he gets acclimated again after all the changes, he is gonna want to ride every single day to the beach and I can’t wait to see the videos! 🥰 Welcome back home to Hawaii and I cannot wait to follow more of your amazing adventures!! 😍 As always, sending so much love and light to the Beeston family!! 💕
My pediatrician told me that babies ears pop when flying and it can be extremely uncomfortable. She said have a flight attendant heat up 2 dry wash cloths in the microwave, (bring w you), and place them on his ears. We did and it works! Love your family! 💕
@@MNW0705 He's WAY to young for gum!!! He wouldn't know to just chew it. He'd probably swallow it, and it could be a choking hazard if he inhaled it. Don't do it!!! 😵💫🙀✌️
Don’t worry about Jack’s behavior, it’s typical toddler behavior. They will test you beyond all measure. When he is able to understand more you will just have to set limits and have rules. But for now you have to put up with tantrums and screaming and just keep him safe and love him. Take care guys!!!💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Kathy Carter - totally agree, I made a beanbag for my son at Jack's age as mid-tantrum he'd throw his head back so the beanbag was quickly put behind him so there was no cracked heads. 👍💯
Try to remember that it's not a tantrum; it's communication. Everything is new to him. Ease him into his new adventure and he will do just fine. I just found your videos today and look forward to following your family as you adapt and grow.♥️
Usually when there was a big behavior change, I would make sure there's nothing going on like physically, like an illness or injury, if that's okay then you can assume that it's a temporary behavior issue. I have four grown kids includes a set of twins, seems like when we would get one crisis over, the next one would start! Finding ways to distract while staying calm will help. Good luck!
Yeh this came to mind during the car drive scene. They are so cute & sumtimes adorably naive & thats why we love them! Noone apparently clued poor Derik and Sarah of the inevitable "terrible twos" period....buckle up & dig up sum extra patience. 😄😵💫🤗
Aww poor baby! He probably has sensitive ears from the air pressure and remembers the pain he had from the last flight. And aww you guys! You are great parents!❤️❤️❤️
He's just decompressing and adjusting back. He probably misses all your family. Three months to a toddler is a lifetime. Once he readjusts to the timezone and gets back into a schedule, he'll be fine. Just give him lots of hugs and kisses, tell him it's all ok. And maybe extra zoom calls back to Utah so he doesn't feel abandoned (an unconscious thing that can happen in childhood when big changes happen). He'll be ok. Just needs the and extra love to let him know he's safe and loved. You guys are doing great! Parenting is hard.
This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard I wouldn't be acting like that I would be so happy if my mama could afford it this is what riches will do to you

Aw this is so sweet, so jack is just getting into this oh so wonderful stage where he wants to run everywhere and be into everything. He’s that age. I couldn’t imagine being on an airplane with Piper. First time parents you two are doing great but you have yet to see all the crazy days lol.
Welcome back home guys! I'm thinking Jack may be going thru a stage but it could bd as simple as adjusting to being back home after 3 months. For a child that age it's not 3 months it's like a year lol. So happy to see your all home safe and healthy. Can't wait to see your NEW BIGGER place lol. Can't wait for your next video. Wish you had the time to do more...just love watching you guys! Sending all my love to the 3 of you!!!
Oh, y'all are so sweet! I love that despite being frustrated and tired, I hear no anger in your voices. Young Jack has an epic hangover (so much family, fun, holidays, love, travel). Give him a week or two to settle back into life. Little ones take longer to recuperate. Jack is such an amazing age! Y'all are about to have the funnest year of adventures! ENJOY!
Ok guys the most important thing: make sure you don’t reward bad behavior. Don’t give him fun or yummy things when he’s being terrible. He gets tons of positive attention already so it isn’t that.
It's not bad behavior. It's I can't handle the excitement right now behavior or the stress. It's maybe add a little teething to the equation behavior. It's rosy red cheeks glassy eyed exhausted and maybe a little sick behavior. It's I only have this way to show I'm out of balance behavior. Do not punish or hold back treats or hugs... that trains lack of compassion.
I'm a parent / grandma and flew with my daughter to Germany when she was 5 months old and 7 years old. It was a straight flight that lasted 12 hours and 15 minutes San Francisco to Frankfurt. I packed toys , coloring stuff etc. The stewardess was very helpful at take off and landing as well. Some young children have problems Flying because of their ears. The fact that he is hitting his head points to that. The trick is to give him his binki or when you can something he can chew on /eat so it popps his ears and the fluid won't build up and hurt !
@@micheleolson9914bad comment because I've been through a lot of pain and I know what really bad pain feels like but kicking and screaming no I never did that and my gratitude level would be off the scale I was greatful
Learning how to enjoy quiet pleasures in a calm secure place, familiarity, sameness, normality in early childhood helps to develope security. Nothing lasts forever dear family. My son slept in desperation under the plane seat once, back many years ago. I remember a flight from U.K. to the US with a toddler screaming the whole way there. He fell asleep as we landed, his poor frazzled mother in exhausted tears. You are not alone, nor are you the worlds worst parents….keep on keeping on, when you settle in your new home you’ll all recover, day by lovely day! Thank you for sharing the joys and challenges of family life xxxx
He's just going thru regular growing pains that ALL kids go through. Because he's older and can now register new feelings & experiences, both physical and emotional, his little body has to adjust to all these new things in his world. Keep loving your sweet little angel and he'll get thru it AND so will you two sweet parents. God bless y'all as always 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Please remember that y’all are amazing parents and sometimes it just happens. Time change and sometimes it’s just going to feel impossible. He will grow out of it. Happy you’re back safe and somewhat sound. 🥰😘❤️
Love your family!❤️😘 Have y’all thought to turn Jack’s car seat upright where he is able to see out and the surroundings? This may help. He is old enough. Love ya 💖😍❤️❤️❤️
It’s TOTALLY 💯 normal! I have a blessing of a 17 mos old who is always such a chill, go with the flow, happy little boy. Then all of a sudden in these last 2 weeks, he’s been very unpredictable with random tantrums such as the ones you mentioned.. and no matter what I try to do to soothe him, nothing works. It’s as if the only thing they want at that moment, is freedom to run.. even if it’s not the ideal time. I hear ya girl, it can be overwhelming for sure. I get very nervous about putting him on a plane, solely because of it. I give y’all credit for achieving that challenge❣️🤙🏻
OMG my 16 month old Grandbaby throws herself around and screams too! Learning to self-regulate her emotions probably won't come until she's able to speak more words so for now all we can do is "label" her frustrations, wants and needs as simply for her as possible. As a Mom of three and G-Ma of four, I've learned just when you think you can't take it anymore, they suddenly do something new for themselves and life gets a bit easier. Congrat on your YT Gold Plaque, you've all earned it!!!
Welcome home guys. Let Jack adjust.. this moving around is a lot for a little guy to handle and he's going through some perfectly normal 'testing your limits' stages..perfectly normal for his age.
The terrible 2s are called what they are for a reason. He is learning and testing you. He will push to see where y'all will draw the line and discipline him, and no, I'm not talking about hitting. I'm talking about saying no and time outs. This is a difficult age and some kids go from terrible 2s to terrible 3s. You don't want to give in to tantrums because they might be cute at 2 but they're not cute at 8,12,14,16 and so on. The problem with time outs at this age is you're going to have to sit there with him, and it's a minute for every year of age so Jack gets 2 minute time outs. Time out doesn't end if he's still having a tantrum and there will be times you're sitting there crying with him. It's not easy to discipline your baby but it definitely helps them grow into a respectful, responsible adult. I'm not telling you what to do, this is just advice from someone that raised 2 great kids that are now great adults older than you two and neither one lives with me because they're doing great!
I’m glad you’re back in Hawaii. You both really seem to like it there better then Utah. I just wanted to say Jack is maybe acting up because of the flight. The only reason I say that is because when my girls were little and we would fly, It would take a few days for them to adjust. Their little bodies had to adjust to the flying ,now they have to adjust to back being with both feet on the ground. He will come around, children always do. God love you all and bless your little family .✝️. Much Love from Ohio ❤️
Aww love that you're back in Huwaii, one place I've wanted to see since I was wee! Babies do go through those times! My boys did the head bang thing, he’s still a little small to transition to the front facing car seat but that’s what helped a whole lot with that, hope this helps ease you minds! Terrible twos are coming you guys! When he throws fits talk him through them. Explain it's ok for him to feel that way but there is ways he can communicate his feelings verse throwing a tantrum. You guys got this. All my love from Michigan ❤️

That is the exact same thing that happened with us! When our son was 1.5 years old, we went on vacation to Hawaii and he had the worst flight ever! (Mind you it was his first) but the whole flight he cried and was fussy. We were so happy when we landed! Luckily the flight home he basically slept the whole time🙌🏼
I know someone commented about it could be his ears hurting and that’s why he isn’t good with flying so give him something to chew on but another trick I’ve seen parents do is get childrens noise cancelling headphones so it doesn’t build up the pressure in his ears
Derik, you are one awesome Dad. Yes, Baby Jack will have those kind of days but you and Sarah have so much patience, you'll get through it. Have faith and may God bless and protect your little family.❤😍🙏
Oh the memories of my Babies just completely acting possessed and flinging themselves backwards and almost knocking me out with their heads ramming into my nose, not wanting to sit still and having no interest in anything i would present them with, whinning and fussing over nothing but i would go back in a second and would give anything for them to be little again, i have 3 altogether, my boys are 20 and 17, my little girl is not so little anymore and she's 15, all beautiful people! Our family loves you guys and are happy to see you back ! ♥️ As for the tantrums he probably is trying to adjust with time and being back home. However, if it continues you just pick him up remove him from the situation and use one word sentences telling Not OK use facial expressions. Since he doesn't talk yet and he may be frustrated. Buy a folder , cut out pictures like food , bed, beach , etc laminate and velcro this will give him a way to communicate and express himself and take away his stress ! Awww... poor mom and dad. Jack will be okay; it's just a phase. I'm sure he is just adjusting to the changes, and he'll be fine. He is also at that age when he is becoming independent and finding himself. He is learning he can do things on his and doesn't understand that not all behaviors are acceptable at all times. Pick your battles; you won't win them all, so the less you have to double down on super important safety things, the happier you'll all be. Haha, choose your battles; some aren't worth fighting at this age, but you still want to be sure you are setting ground rules now.

A had a flight like that after Christmas with my two year old. That was only 2 hours though, I can't imagine having to survive 6! You guys are rockstars!
No judgement, but i would really consider wearing a helmet as well when on the bike with Jack, if god forbid you were to ever fall and hit your head you potentially could lose consciousness and then the poor babe is just there helpless. Think of it like the oxygen masks on planes you have to make sure youre straight so you can help your loved ones! Plus TBI’s suck and they can be life altering from a tiny fall just depends how you land 🥺
I just absolutely love you guys! 😀❤️❤️❤️ I would be totally pumped if I was going from Utah to Hawaii! I live in Massachusetts where the weather is cold and yucky! So I totally get it! Except I don’t have Hawaii! Lol Jack is totally fine! He’s just getting a little bit older, learning that he has a mind of his own, probably exhausted from all the traveling!! My boys would’ve been grumpy and fighting on the plane! Luckily they had each other and they were very competitive. So it never seemed like they were afraid of too many things. But I personally think that you’re either gonna get the terrible twos or horrific threes! I kind of got a little bit of both! Lol 😂 you guys are the best parents and we’ll figure all these things out, especially after you have the second baby that I’m dying for you to have!! Glad you’re home and have more surprises for us! Poor little Jack! So much change in such a short time...talk about sensory overload! He'll soon settle down but let him go at his own pace, too much change is overwhelming for little people 💙
I agree with the person who spoke about the air pressure on the kids ears. I used to travel from France to California every summer with my kids when they were newborns and a stewardess told me that if you give them a bottle or something to suck or eat, it’s the swallowing action that takes away the air pressure and helps your kids ears pop. so whenever we would land or take off I would make sure I had a bottle of juice or water or some thing they could swallow to help break the pressure and they never cried.
Awww, Jack knows that he's not around all of his family anymore, he had so much fun and probably was spoiled rotten. He has to readjust being back home! Try the bike again in a couple days, he might like it then. Also, he's an only child so he probably was so happy to be around Ozzy, and Stella for so long too!! You both are doing an amazing job👌🏽! We all get upset and cranky too! He's a miniature human being and is entitled to feelings of sadness or frustration! Keep your heads up guys, you'll be moving soon and have more space for him. Stay calm, breathe and take it one day at a time. God bless🙏🏽♥️😚♥️

It literally goes in the blink of an eye, you turn round and they’re 25… 🥰🛬🏝🏠🌊🏍👨👩👦💞
When spoil them and the act out in public you know you just want attention because money is not enough
I now have four adult kids best advice I can give you is take a deep breath, hold on tight, and don't give in, if he screams in public take him outside and who cares what people think good luck you guys are great parents not going to lie it's not going to be easy, but you'll do it ♥️
Terrific Twos!
...and if he screams while on a flight take him... to the bathroom? Just kidding. In 2017 I read that babies and little kids have a lot of ear pressure during flights- not sure how they would have tested that out though.
Yup ear pressure
It is toooo noisy massy and ugly this place please give it a break it is a horrible experience for his souly heart.
Best advice
As always, sending so much love and light to the Beeston family!! 💕
My pediatrician told me that babies ears pop when flying and it can be extremely uncomfortable. She said have a flight attendant heat up 2 dry wash cloths in the microwave, (bring w you), and place them on his ears. We did and it works!
Love your family! 💕
This is true. Also, if you give him gum to chew when taking off and landing it will pop his ears and the pressure won't affect him so much.
@@MNW0705 He's WAY to young for gum!!! He wouldn't know to just chew it. He'd probably swallow it, and it could be a choking hazard if he inhaled it. Don't do it!!! 😵💫🙀✌️
No gum!!! …..
@@susancervantez3336 nah, he's fine.
Being a parent of 2 sons, yes it's normal for Jack experiencing his toddler stages😊 Enjoy .. your are the best parents ❤️
Good advice ,for alot of young parents that don't seem to know the correct way of parenting 👍 Good Advice
Good luck!
The toddler years are upon you!!! It’s a wild ride yall!
Jack is probably exhausted with all the jet lag and changes of environment! He'll be fine!! & Hugs to you all!!♥️🌞🌹🙌
This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard I wouldn't be acting like that I would be so happy if my mama could afford it this is what riches will do to you

I just love watching your little family. My son has 2 teens of his own. I don't know how time is so fast! But it is! Enjoy every minute with him!
Y’all are a great team you will get through it! Enjoy being home!
Exactly. You will be rushing around trying to make him happy all the time and it will only get worse. Don’t build a monster.
Give him food all the way there..
It's not "bad behavior". It's called being a toddler.
It's too late this kid is ruined for life you can see he's going to end up in jail because he won't get what he wants
I've read about this too, about the changes in air pressure being painful. Good comment.
@@micheleolson9914 Thank you !
It would not work they already gave him toys and games and you can see what a new bike did to him he more angery then he was he's a brat
@@micheleolson9914bad comment because I've been through a lot of pain and I know what really bad pain feels like but kicking and screaming no I never did that and my gratitude level would be off the scale I was greatful

When Jack crawled over to Ozzie and gave her a kiss, my heart totally melted, so sweet.
That was the best shot of pure love you could have gotten. I'm still a pile of mush.

Jack is so cute and this is normal. He is getting in to the toddler age so you guys hang in there because is all good 🌷
He's just going thru regular growing pains that ALL kids go through.
🥰😘❤️
Love you guys!! Your family is sooo beautiful and amazing! 💕
Congratulations on your plaque
Change is hard. He will be fine.
New adjustment for him. After being around all the family.
He is adorable.
Jack kissing the little boy asleep on the floor so gently so he doesn't wake him up 🤗, I've watched that bit 8 times, he just melts me. 🤗✌️❤️

@@reginamoore134 Oh thank you for the info, I've only been subscribed for a short time so?
Ahhhhh how I miss those days. Enjoy every minute (even the tiring ones). Blessings to you all.
I love how Jack still looks like an angel 😇...still love this wee guy, I've had 5 and believe me they all have their moments. Love you guys! Hang in there, this is just the beginning of toddler mania! 😉
It's just adjusting, perfectly normal and means jack is super aware of his surroundings 💕
Babies do go through those times! My boys did the head bang thing, he’s still a little small to transition to the front facing car seat but that’s what helped a whole lot with that, hope this helps ease you minds! Also he is surely going to need a little bit of time to get used to being back at his own house!

Terrible twos are coming you guys! When he throws fits talk him through them. Explain it's ok for him to feel that way but there is ways he can communicate his feelings verse throwing a tantrum. You guys got this. All my love from Michigan ❤️
He's been gone for three months. Everything is different again. He'll settle in. Parenthood is so unpredictable!!!! But very rewarding!!! Love you guys
I pray your little family adjusts back quickly and peacefully.
You guys are great parents. It's normal for kids to get overwhelmed and tired with that type of traveling. You done good.
You 2 are awesome parents, just take it day by day and seriously cherish every moment, even the rough moments, be patient and one of these days you will sit back and be so proud of what you've accomplished
Just remember this, kids are much more resilient then you know!! They adjust so much more easily!!!
Jack reminds me so much of my 18 month old. They ain’t easy babies but they are the best! I flew to Hawaii with her when she was a year old and it was the longest day of my life for sure! Lol jacks a cutie!!!!

Or is one more of like a vacation home? And last, is there any special reason why it’s Hawaii?! Like did one of y’all serve a mission there or did you guys just say like hey let’s move somewhere warm and landed in Hawaii?! Sorry, I’m nosy, lol. Because of Jack: i think was just all a little bit much for him...
Give him some rest time without surprises, just easy normal things and in one, two days everything will be fine again...

CONGRATULATIONS on your TH-cam award! So happy for you, Sarah, and Jack being able to be back in Hawaii.
Jack-Jack is experiencing a lot of change. If you wouldn’t mind some observations from an old woman, you and Sarah must be in charge of what’s going on in your home. Not the “toddler”. (Hopefully, they’ll be another baby and he’ll feel very left out since the family dynamics will be changing)
Family life isn’t about making your child happy. You’re such a wonderful loving family. Jack-Jack is going to be freaking out in the next month. I’m sure he’s missing his grandparents. As for the tantrums he probably is trying to adjust with time and being back home.
I was a special education teacher from County Classrooms. I did use those tools with my children more than once. Just make sure to let him know good job.
Good luck and enjoy your precious little Angel ♥️

Glad you made it back safely to Hawaii 🌴. I know sometimes on planes little ones can have it where their ears hurt a lot so I know with mine I would try to give them something to drink right at takeoff and right when we’re landing so it helps break up the air pressure in their ears. I know it’s stressful but we were all little once and so it’s just one of those things we go through. Always enjoy your videos and looking at sweet little Jack! God bless!

Awww... poor mom and dad. Jack will be okay; it's just a phase. I'm sure he is just adjusting to the changes, and he'll be fine. He is also at that age when he is becoming independent and finding himself. He is learning he can do things on his and doesn't understand that not all behaviors are acceptable at all times.
I'm sure he will be ok. Big changes to adjust to. Once yall move and get back into the groove of Hawaii life he will be your happy boy again.

My boys would’ve been grumpy and fighting on the plane! Luckily they had each other and they were very competitive. So it never seemed like they were afraid of too many things. But I personally think that you’re either gonna get the terrible twos or horrific threes! I kind of got a little bit of both!
OMG! Jack is soo cute in every way possible God please bless this little boy 🙏🙏
