Przewięź - part of the city of Augustów in Poland located in the Podlaskie Voivodship, in the Augustów poviat, in the area of the Augustów Forest at the junction of the national road No. 16 (Gościniec Sejneński) and the provincial road No. 672 Przewięź-Rudawka [1] (Gościniec Puszczański).
Przewiź is located in the north-eastern part of Augustów, right next to the city border. From the north it borders with Przewięzia in the commune of Płaska, and from the south with Studzieniczna, also belonging to Augustów. In Przewięź there is a sluice on the Augustów Canal connecting Lakes Studzieniczne (the island reserve of Brzozowy Grąd) with Biały Augustowskie. The southern part of the former Przewięź was incorporated into the administrative borders of Augustów in 1973[2], the northern part remained a settlement outside the city limits.
Przewięź lock - the sixth lock on the Augustów Canal (counting from the Biebrza side). It is located in the city of Augustów in its part Przewięź between the lakes Studzieniczne and Białe Augustowskie. Built in the years 1826 - 1827 by Lt. Col. Eng. August Schulec. It has been preserved in its original condition to this day.
