    Where is the consent in "enforcement " officers, no ones ever asked me for a vote

    I'm not a huge fan of litter enforcement officers, but to be fair the guy in the glasses did give an informed view, and also explained clearly the aspect of deliberately throwing down litter. Good luck to him , he seems like a reasoned feller.. .. however , I wish other litter enforcement officer acted like him.

    I live on the banks of the Manchester ship canal , it exits into the river mersey at Eastham, as children we used to watch the same ships going out into the mersey , and returning back to Manchester, this happened daily , as kids we called them " turd tankers " they loaded raw sewage in Manchester and dumped it into the Irish Sea just off Liverpool, and return to Manchester for another load , ......thousands of tonnes of raw sewage, daily , and the people who did this now prosecute members of the public for dropping litter , I defy anyone to tell me this did not happen , .......p.s. dropping litter is wrong , don't do it

      Thanks Norman for sharing your memories yesteryear....the equivalent is probably still going on but via underwater pipes nowadays...nice post! 😃

    Ask him if he's on commission per ticket. Watch his attitude change then and enter denial mode.

    How much of my recycling do the council actually recycle and how much do they incinerate and pollute the atmosphere with or else stick it into a landfill site.

    • @AAUK2
      @AAUK2  ปีที่แล้ว

      Very little. The public would be surprised.

    • @skimmingstoness
      @skimmingstoness ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AAUK2 I think my local council was 45%, they blamed contamination, so people putting glass in with paper. The reality is it costs too much so that's the real excuse, much cheaper to burn it or send it to landfill.

    • @AAUK2
      @AAUK2  ปีที่แล้ว

      Used to be a recycler and much of it went straight to landfill.

    A good civil exchange IMV. I do believe there is a roll for fining people who deliberately litter, but should not be with the primary intention to raise money. I would give credit to this CE employee that he did engage in a reasonable discussion and didn't treat AA with contempt. I suspect this man would act fairly and reasonably unlike some.

    • @AAUK2
      @AAUK2  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree, the man was very generous with this views and time. I think the respect for each other was achieved with both getting over our individual points. I quite liked chatting to him and can separate the man from the job quite easily. 😁

    • @AAUK2
      @AAUK2  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sad but true...a failing scheme that is supposed to profit the council but apparently it's the private debt collection service that makes the money 💸💸💰 - it stupidly costs the council money to run the scheme so taxpayers are taxed twice for no good reason...and taxed heavily already for the cigarettes they smoke.

  • @samabrahams7687
    @samabrahams7687 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    They dont half pick some people for these jobs . This guy has no soul and a true robot civil servant.

    • @AAUK2
      @AAUK2  ปีที่แล้ว

      I like the guy to be fair (he's very friendly and chatty). He gave his opinions freely to me and quite eloquently too I thought.
      The officer represents Manchester City Council AND the private company that runs the scheme in Manchester - the council is 'apparently' losing money on the litter enforcement scheme but the private company is making profits, leaving everything the man is saying about education and the environment as the representative of the two organisations total B.S. Nothing is being cleaned up etc as a result of fining the public. It's just a tax.
      Uniforms and authority are like cocaine to low paid, ignored and otherwise powerless people. I respect who he really is and to be fair to him he's not the worst sort of official. He's at least thought about the arguments and he's the type to go away and think about what I said too.
      I'm not going to knock him too much because he gave us something to think about, challenge and change.
      Plus he's box office entertainment 😁 He appears in another video somewhere, that's funnier that one lol...😆😆😆😁✌️🤟👨‍🎤📷😉

      Indeed, he began by saying he's there to educate but at the end when I said the public need educating he said, "they already know it's illegal" proving it's not about education, it's all about and only about the fine....they target mostly poor people who've already paid their council tax to clean it up. And if there are plastics causing the harm he spoke about then it's the cigarette manufacturers who need to pay for it to be cleaned up...the poor litter often because they just feel cheated and taxed and taxed again.
      Rant over lol 😁☑️👨‍🎤🤟✌️ thanks for watching, commenting and also being on the ball too mate!

      I think so too 😳🥀🪖 He began by saying the public need "education" and when I put education back to him as part of my own argument, he said "the public don't need educating because they already know it's illegal" lol.
