Especially during the end of the song “End of the day” I wish they would have pushed that more cause I find Louis and Harry’s voices the most interesting. I think they’re the only two with truly unique voices. Liam and zayn may have the technique under their belt and Niall has the live accuracy but I think Louis and Harry just have a tone that draws you in. I don’t think Louis in his solo stuff is anywhere near using his full potential tho- but I suppose that’s bc he needs to heal from years of chain smoking

He’s considered one of the weaker singers along with Niall so he was always just given harmonies in the choruses. If I Could Fly is one of my favorite songs. It’s so powerful and beautiful. It really showcases Harry’s talent for writing songs. The depth of Harry’s voice is why I love it so much. The lyrics are so deep and the transition of voice to voice, to when they’re all together just ignites something inside you. This is most definitely going to be my wedding song

The fact that Walking in Wind is inspired by when Zayn called Harry at 2:00 am before he left one directio and they both were crying breaks my heart. Zayn made me so mad when he said that he and Harry didn’t talk that much during the band.
Apparently the night before Zayn left he called Harry and told him and they just were talking for a long time through the night. There were a lot of articles about it at the time but even if it never happened I am 99% sure that walking in the wind is about Zayn, for example the line about we wore our hearts on our sleeve. The boys always used to say that zayn wore his heart on his sleeve and so on and so on

I discovered 1D last year while my son was in the hospital being treated for cancer. I listened to If I Could Fly every night before I went to sleep. I still listen to it every day before I go to bed, and it still gets me very emotional from the first piano chord. The lyrics, "I've got scars, even though they can't always be seen. And pain gets hard, but now you're here and I can't feel a thing" make me think of my son. Plus I love Harry's voice in this. ♥️💔 You are not the only one infatuated with Harry's beautiful vocal tone.

Niall's Flicker is what pulled me into this album. What A Feeling is my fave and it's very warm and airy like On The Loose. So it's always a little mindboggling to hear Niall's vocals were thought of as "weaker". Is he an acrobat? No, but he doesn't need to be. He's got a warm, sweet tone that has a bit of sandy-ness to it. He's got a good bawdy tone when he lets loose, but he can croon with an acoustic and it just moves my soul. So yeah... Niall gal here. If I Could Fly is one of my favorite songs. It’s so powerful and beautiful. It really showcases Harry’s talent for writing songs. The depth of Harry’s voice is why I love it so much. The lyrics are so deep and the transition of voice to voice, to when they’re all together just ignites something inside you. This is most definitely going to be my wedding song

There were a lot of articles about it at the time but even if it never happened I am 99% sure that walking in the wind is about Zayn, for example the line about we wore our hearts on our sleeve. Louis is actually the one who has written most of their songs, including midnight memories. Him and Liam are the ones who have written a lot. Liam is the one who was doing the falsetto in never enough. And it was Louis singing that verse in Olivia :)
Louis and Liam wrote 14 each and Harry wrote 12, Niall 8 and Zayn 5.

I discovered 1D last year while my son was in the hospital being treated for cancer. I listened to If I Could Fly every night before I went to sleep. I still listen to it every day before I go to bed, and it still gets me very emotional from the first piano chord. The lyrics, "I've got scars, even though they can't always be seen. And pain gets hard, but now you're here and I can't feel a thing" make me think of my son. Plus I love Harry's voice in this. ♥️💔 You are not the only one infatuated with Harry's beautiful vocal tone.

Olivia was definitely a Harry song. He fought hard to get all the horns and brass instruments into it that he felt was so important.
sadly, actually out of all the albums i think this is the one where louis has most of his solos...if you listen to the earlier albums you’ll notice that niall and louis are more in the back and pushed to the side :/

Niall's Flicker is what pulled me into this album. What A Feeling is my fave and it's very warm and airy like On The Loose. So it's always a little mindboggling to hear Niall's vocals were thought of as "weaker". Is he an acrobat? No, but he doesn't need to be. He's got a warm, sweet tone that has a bit of sandy-ness to it. He's got a good bawdy tone when he lets loose, but he can croon with an acoustic and it just moves my soul.
So yeah... Niall gal here. Hiiii 🖐😁
