Hi Espen, your images of wildlife are fantastic. What I take from this video though is your determination and persistence to get the shot. This will be an inspiration to me to stay on location a little longer when it seems nothing is happening. Keep up the good work and thanks
Thanks very much Scott :) Yeah, it's like a muscle the more you push yourself to stay out longer the easier it gets. Still hard on days when nothing happens though!
Great pics of a very Illusive little character! Love the fact you are so honest in your videos, showing the times images don't come also. Gives me hope to persevere! Thanks!
This was so enjoyable, Espen. I love watching birds...don't do enough of it, however. The black necked stilt was one that I was quite excited about. I live in north central Alberta and had heard about Frank Lake. So off I went, with my Oly 40-150.. They were much farther north than their normal range so I was quite pleased. Keep up the fine work. Such beautiful photos. jan
Thank you Jann! That looks like a great bird! similar to black-winged stilt that we get in Europe. How are you finding the Olympys 40-150? I'm hoping to try an Olympus 4/3 soon.
@@EspenHelland Good morning! I will check out your stilt soon.. The 40-150 is a nice little lens for an amateur like me. I've added the 1.4 teleconverter; a serious birder I met told me to try without it; haven't tried that yet. When I started photography as my retirement hobby, I knew absolutely nothing about dslr's or 4/3 cameras. Huge learning curve ....... If I could start over, it would be my oly em1m2 which I own and love, with the 300 lens; it's over 3000$ here. There are a couple of oly officiandoes on youtube: Peter Forsgard from Finland? and Darren Miles from the US you could watch. David Griff also uses oly, but he only does absolutely gorgeous landscape... Have a great day, Espen. jan
In the end it was worth all the effort; In Spain you can photograph at several points although it is true that they are very difficult because of their activity and nervousness. Thanks friend
Just found your channel through your hide demo videos, amazing work! I'm just getting back into wildlife photography after a long time away. I'm a professional photographer shooting weddings and commercial work so getting into the peace and quiet of nature, then shooting just for fun makes a nice change of pace. I'd be interested in seeing how you edit your images and handle the noise from high ISO. Anyway, look forward to seeing more from you so keep up the good work.
Thank you very much for that Dave. Funny you should say that, I'm just about to do a video on fixing noise as I've recently come across a new method I think works amazingly! Also got some requests for editing so I'll be sure to make a video of that soon as well :)
Great video, as always! I find the info you add to the photos useful as a guide, so thank you for that. I love bearded reedlings and have tried to get photos of them myself - they never seem to keep still, and I haven't got a good one yet!!
Somewhere I have an image of about a dozen people watching the grit trays at Leighton Moss with no luck. They have 4 BTs eating grit on the path behind them. Absolutely stunning shots, but you have certainly put the effort in to get them. The perfect video for late October, you can almost set your Callander by them at LM. Thank you.
You have perfected popping on that lens hood! I have that lens and a couple of times when I tried to put it on quickly it got stuck and it took a while to unthread again LOL I know it is very simple, but I managed to get it wrong twice. (So embarrassing!) What cute little birds those are, they look like they have war paint :) you got some very nice shots on a beautiful morning walk.
Thank you Pauline! The second day was a bit too dark for it, and when I shot in amongst the undergrowth I was at ISO 2000 without it. It's handy, but I'm learning to not always keep it attached to my lens.
Beaut shots, gorgeous birds. Nice one Espen!
Thanks Will 🙂
Hi Espen once again some beautiful images and a lovely video thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much Clive :)

Thank you :) The second day I had to really push myself to stay there as long as I did!
Wonderful moments you share with us. Like your enthusiasm. Fantastic.
Best regards, Knut.
Thank you very much Knut :)
Those some really great shots ye took mate, it was very pleasing. Godspeed Espen 🤘😊
Thanks for that!
Great shots of a lovely little bird Espen, those reeds add so much to the image. Like the music with the b-roll, very fitting.
Thank you very much Jeff, appreciate it!
Great video. A bird I've never really managed to photograph properly yet. Nice work..
Thank you Simon! It's one of those birds I just want to photograph again and again :)

@@EspenHelland That's great, look forward to it. Just a thought, I'm thinking of getting the Tamron 150-600 g2, do you know anyone using it?
@@Yosser70 I think I've seen Morten Hilmer use it as a backup/lighter lens in one of his videos.
They really are stunning little birds and not one I have had the good fortune to see. Some lovely images, Thanks for sharing Espen. 👍

I loved your photos. I see that you use the x1.4 teleconverter at times. It seems to work well with your setup.
