People are still sticking with PS4 because games are still being made for the thing AND people are broke because of this worldwide recession. Simple enough 😐
Yeah that’s fair
and PS5 has like 1 exclusive
PS5 is so much better faster and better
@@marvindempsey2001What good is that if you don’t have no games?
Agree ! I really just have the PS5 because i'm a VR fanatic@@ShadyDBZ4
Still happy on PS2. That library is kinda unbeatable.
I still have tons of games to play on PS2. Just bought a PS4 Pro recently to get it hacked and play more games.
I would say the PS2 and Xbox 360 are right up there with each other. I think the 360 would've sold 150 million units if it wasn't for a lot of people being turned away by the Red Ring of Death. The 360 library was that good. We had Gears of War, Mass Effect, BioShock, and Halo 3 release all within a single year.
I just bought a modded hard drive with tons of games for my PS2. It is Godlike
Im setting up mine tomorrow, cant wait to play!
And you can play Ps1 too, just need a memory card.
-PS4 still regularly gets games
-Rise of indies means less graphically intense games still being made
-Smaller jumps between console generations
-Massive PS4 library with more affordable games
-Economic issues leading to people spending less
-Initial PS5 years had supply issues
-No price drops yet
-First two years didn't have a ton of great exclusives
-Games like Fortnite, Apex, Roblox, Minecraft and others still being on previous gen
Exactly
This
the PS5 had a bunch of price drops/deals
It feels like interesting PS5 exclusives not releasing on PS4 anymore is just starting to happen in spring/summer 2024. To me it feels like this year is the 1st true year of the PS5. The years before were like a preview.
No price drops... we actually had a price hike.

How are you supposed to save for a deposit when your rent is $1.6k a month? @@glenmcl
Damn, may as well find a roommate to split the cost.
@@glenmclThat’s a lie. Getting a mortgage is renting because you don’t own it as much as people who have a house think they do. Your bank owns it until you pay it off. And unlike renting someone with a mortgage has to pay property taxes, some HOA, maintenance of the home, etc.
MY PC WAS 1600 DOLLARS. I DONT PAY RENT
Nintendo called this in 2006… if all you do is just make a more powerful system there’s going to be an end point… and it looks like we’re getting there with the PS5 and Xbox series x…
Earlier than that actually. Yamahuchi said that on a 2001 interview.
@@josedeleon1923 I was referring to the original Wii release date, but you are in fact correct.
Essentially, it's trying to make a video game system into compact hi performance cpu
yes and no cause then u have the PC market and if u don't have a powerfull PC how are u gonna make games like Zelda,TLOU or Hellblade
In terms of power, not even close. Consoles are no where near as powerful as a PC. They can keep making them more powerful. As for cross-Gen and games, people forget the fact that Covid happened at the launch of these consoles which made the cross-gen period twice as long due to people losing jobs and having no money and sticking with previous generation consoles much longer than normal.

There aren't enough games in my opinion. Most are just PS4 with a bit higher res. Just recently getting better
The majority of PS5 games seem to be PS4 related.
18:46 Uhhh did you guys forget almost nobody could even buy a ps5 or Xbox because it was out of stock for like 2 years and you had to spend like a $1000 from a scalper?? I agree lack of games contributed but it was weird to see nobody mentioned the pandemic that haulted everything for a long time.
Bro says “had to spend like a $1000 from a scalper” acting like you couldn’t just wait 💀
And now for almost a year they are on shelves
The generation only started in 2023. Sony only stopped releasing cross gen titles with spiderman 2
*halted
im honestly quite suprised we dont see them for like 200 Dollars used already lmao
9th Gen was starting 2020 but there is no Game that makes you feel like we left 8th Gen
PS5 has been the most disappointing era of games in history.
Absolutely 🤣
I think Ghost of Tsushima doing so well on PC proves a point that it doesn't matter how long after a PC port comes out, if it is a good game it will sell. The original came out like 4 years ago on PS4.
Exactly. I'm glad that they didn't rush it out and make another trash port
Especially with games no longer taking massive leaps in technical capability
why you just said is "a good game will sell well" nothing more
Except other games launched much later on PC didn't have that same success. See Spider-Man, Ratchet and Clank, etc.
@@ckling217 spiderman sold about 2 million on steam. A lot of people bought ps4s just to play that game. Ratchet didn't do as well as ghost did on the console either so obviously it wouldn't sell as well on pc either. People waited for these games and they bought them. Ghosts being a top choice and the sales proved it.
"the series s is underpowered and holding back gaming".
Playstation 4 users "I'm skint it's a recension etc, can't buy a new console, and they are still supporting it".
Utter irony.
I love my Series S and seeing this discussion it's crazy to think Microsoft is blamed for this.
I am one of those people still sticking with the ps4. Apart from the price and the, at least to me, unpleasant aesthetics of the ps5 I simply don't see any games that I can't also play on the console I already have. Spiderman 2 and Ratchet and Clank aren't system seller for me. Unless there's a price drop I see the real possibility of skipping this generation altogether.
Exactly what my situation is. I bought the PS4 for Bloodborne. Then I upgraded to a pro due to death stranding bundle.
The PS5 sales will pick up again with the release of both PS5 pro and GTA 6.
And PS5 sales are already very very good.
Exactly.
I'm waiting for GTA and maybe Indiana Jones to maybe think about getting a Series X (or whatever pro version will be released by then).
But I'm happy on my Xbox One X - And Sega Genesis.
No it won’t it’ll be a flash in the pan
Don't get me wrong, I really like the PS5, but in no way do I love it as much as the PS2 or Xbox360. It doesn't even come close to how I feel about the SNES. The PS5 hasn't pushed the state of the industry forward. I've said this many times and I'll say it again: there is nothing on the PS5 that couldn't be done at a lower resolution and lower polycount on the PS4/PS3. If those are the only things that change, what's the point?
Going from the PS1 to the PS2 was revelatory. It wasn't just a gain in clarity and polycount, it was the scale and scope of the worlds to explore. With the 360 and PS3, the worlds grew larger and more seamless, and the amount of things that could happen in those worlds increased.
PS4 to PS5 is JUST a change in resolution. The controls are the same. The things we do in games is the same. Oh, faster loading times you say? Cool. That makes a huge difference at any other time aside from the part of the game where I am not doing a damn thing.
This isn't a hardware problem, it's an industry problem that stems from an aversion to risk. You know who isn't afraid to try new things and burn the house down when those things don't work out? Nintendo. As company they have shit the bed more than a few times, but they've also aimed for the moon in terms of what they let you do in the world they create, and they've overshot the moon and ended up in the damn Oort cloud on a few occasions (Tears of the Kingdom!). Nintendo has their own problems of course. They're far too quick to punish the people who love them most.
The power on tap with the PS5 makes the Switch look like a pocket calculator. Where is the Mario Odyssey or Tears of the Kingdom on PS5? Nowhere. You get the same first/third-person action live service game with the same controls forever. I don't feel the joys and frustrations of creating something new coming from any PS5 exclusive from a major publisher; I feel a company board worried about pleasing shareholders. That leaves those of us on the other side of the equation feeling underserved and undervalued, and when we leave, the shareholders will have nothing.
At the end of the day, it's the indie scene that's pushing the industry forward, trying new things, making mistakes, and sometimes finding success. The indie scene isn't "next gen" graphics obsessed and doesn't give a damn about any shareholders. It's small teams with big dreams, making what they want to make without interference and without a safety net. And it's working! If only there were a way to convince the winners to tell large publishers to fuck off when they come knocking, but then people gotta eat, so I understand the difficulty in making that call for a person running an indie studio that's on the brink of collapse despite decent sales.
Uh.. rant over I guess.
Well said, good rant. I've been so unimpressed with the PS5 lately that I actually just sold mine. I felt more joy playing Animal Well--a 40mb game made by 1 person--than I did playing Horizon: Forbidden West, Spider-Man 2, Dragon's Dogma 2, God of War: Ragnarok, or any number of other AAA games that left me feeling empty, or worse. There is a huge lack of "soul" in this generation of AAA gaming, and there's literally nothing coming from Sony in the future that I'm excited about.
Yeah, i just can’t get excited or enthusiastic for PS5. This generation has been dull AF for me outside of Nintendo (if you even count the Switch as being this generation).
Spoken like a true prodigy. I tip my hat to you, kind sir. Your rant be blessed.
The only thing I don't agree with is the romanticization of indie games. I'm not buying a 4060 to play a pixel art game I could run on a Gameboy. 90% of indies on steam are either platformers or metroidvanya, only those 10% are actually making the minecrafts or palworld. Although, I'd like more focused games like stellar blade or HD2 that aren't trying to be everything for everybody.
Great comment i feel the same
Console wars aside, the situation is critical. This gen has been the worst to date and they already said they’re slowing down even more. It’s NOT looking good
Not a shock. The PS4 is still getting a ton of games. We were told that 2024 was gonna be the final year for PS4 but it seems like it's still gonna stick around for a little while longer.
If the history of video games has taught us anything, it would be that hardware/consoles don't push the platform/generation... game/software does. Hardware/consoles are simply the means to which you get access to play the games/software. If you produce a consistent stream of super awesome 5-star games exclusively for your platform, people will buy up your hardware/console as the ticket to get into that party. Also, if people are broke AF (vast majority of us), that makes them unlikely to drop $500 on a shiny new console... especially when they can get the same (nearly as good) on their current hardware/console. This isn't hard to figure out. [looking at you, Microsoft]
I dunno man, I didn’t see folks leave Sony to play sea of thieves but it sure it the highest sold game list on PlayStation
Tell that to the N64 and Gamecube
how can people get the same or nearly as good on the current hardware? Can you explain that?
@@mytop3467 most games are released for PS5 and PS4. About half of players are still on PS4. Personally, I have a hard time even telling the difference between PS4 and PS5. Graphically, it can be hard to tell with a casual look… although the difference is there, it just becomes less perceptible each generation. That’s what I mean by “nearly as good”.
I’m kind of confused by this topic. Sony sold 100 million+ ps4 systems. Even if PS5 had dozens of exclusive it’s not realistic to expect your entire fan base to move to your new system in the span of 4 years.
Yeah but 7th gen was dead on arrival when 8th gen consoles hit the market
Every generation by the time a slim model launched the price of a console dropped. This time around the price of the console stayed the same. I can imagine there are people waiting for a price drop that never comes...
I'm waiting for a significant price drop, other than that I could care less about buying an overpriced ps5
I started this gen with Series S and then moved to Switch. Not planning to get a PlayStation until the 6 comes out.
Don't get why ppl are so concerned about the price of a console when they can afford a $1000 phone every year or 2
Most of my friends play on PC, the ones (still) on PS5 only play COD, FIFA or Helldivers 2 these days.
Sony can't analyze this and TH-camrs can? This is crazy.
Imagine if Playstation kept its promise of "we believe in generations" and only allowed "next-gen games" on PS5
They never said that. That would be stupid as hell. So block fortnite, sf6, rainbow 6, call of duty, destiny 2 ect because they are on ps4? That statement was in response to if they would have nothing but crossgen.
@@Luke973T
They did say that. It was in response to the idea that console generations would become a thing of the past, and we'd only have console iterations going forward. Of course, console gamers didn't like that idea and spoke up about it. So, Sony had to calm their fans a bit by saying that they still believe in console generations. Of course, we know that's not true because Sony is doing console iterations now (PS4, PS4 Pro, PS5, PS5 Pro, etc.) but retaining the numbering system to make it appear as if console generations are still a thing. Also, no one said anything about blocking past games. In fact, Sony has always done backward compatibility in their own way. The PS2 played PS1 games. The initial PS3 played both PS1 and PS2 games. These days, they allow you to access past games through streaming.
Also, the reason to make "next-gen only" games on the PS5 is to optimize games for the PS5's power. If you make a cross-gen game, then you have to make sure that it runs on the PS4, which means that you can't use the full power of the PS5.
@G360LIVE I clearly remember them asking him that because of xbox doing cross gen for at least a year and wouldn't have any first party current gen only games. Jim said that we would get some current gen only games and that the ps5 controller was a step up from the dual shock 4. 3d audio ect. None of that was a lie. Gamers on the internet got melodramatic and memed on the statement as if he said crossgen wouldn't be a thing at all.
@@Luke973T1. They did say that.
2. It doesn't mean they'd block PS4 games. It means they'd release new games only on PS5.

Got my son a PS4 Pro 2 years ago along with PSVR and every peripheral.

Thermal throttling I suss, so I’m looking at replacing the fan and thermal paste asap. Still a great choice for anyone on a budget tho.
Not everyone can afford a PS5, we must respect that.
The PS4 has a huge install base so why wouldn't developers target that system. I expect if the Switch 2 is backwards compatible it will be the same situation. Publishers can sell games to 100m built in customers or the 5-8m that buy the new system at launch. The Ps5 is just a PS4 Pro Pro for those that want the best possible PS4 game experience.
So what would you rather they abandon the ps4 architecture completely and not have backwards compatibility? The exact same problem the PS4 had when it abandoned the cell architecture?
@thefool3424 no I honestly don't care what they do at all
Actually been thinking about buying a Ps4 myself. Gonna assume its not too hard to mod now and it's already dirt cheap, so seems a decent purchase really.
Used PS4 slim(depending on storage size) go for about $150-$225. Games are still being made for PS4. I got a used PS4 for my birthday this year. Holy shit balls thought I was the only one still on ps4, pc and series x.
There was 10,561 Ps4 games made .
So even if a new Ps4 was not made again that is a lot of games to catch up on in a lifetime .
Younger generations aren't playing on consoles, and my generation is busy working. Games are also quite expensive nowadays with all the editions making people feel left out if they bought the base version. Special editions last time only included some soundtracks, interviews, booklets or physical items. Now you're missing game content if you're broke, though not some necessary content to complete the game, but content nonetheless.
I'm the niche Rich mentioned. I recently did budget pc upgrades for my HTPCs because my backlog is massive; Including PS4 games. I'm not pleased with direction some publishers are taking the industry and am just as content to play older games I've been sitting on for the most part.
Oddly enough Sony is earning my respect as a publisher. I've been enjoying Horizon FW for the past month; excellent port, no DRM, and fair price. Seems like Ghost of Tsushima is the same.
Completely agree with Linneman about launchers. Having everything in one place makes it easier to use external tools like injectors, makes modding easier, makes your games easier to access, and valve are at least good custodians. They are typically more pro consumer than most public companies and PC gamers feel safer buying from them as a result. They don't bloody themselves following grubby trends and typically side with the most reasonable outcome, even if somewhat unconventional or not strictly a contractual obligation. They don't really need *your* money, so they default to acting responsibly. I also admire their flat creativity-first corporate structure and their use of their seemingly infinite money to push gaming forward with VR tech. I hated steam at first, but they have consistently earned my trust.
I dont find it hard to belive. Theres nothing truly worth it to play to want to upgrade. I tried Rift Apart and while it looked and ran very well, it just felt like such a letdown in everything else compared to the older titles. This is what happens when scalpers buy up everything. PS5 sales don't mean much when half of the consoles are just collecting dust somewhere.
Why is Richard so perplexed with a Sony multiplayer game got released simultaneously for console and PC while their single player games don't. It's obvious that online multiplayer games need to hit quickly on all the platforms it can at the same time to become the fad it needs to become to garner a huge player base. Single player games don't, and with a staggered release, there are many people that got the game on the playstation console and then double dip on the PC.
a prime example of this... look at foamstars lol...
Yeah I don't see how that isn't obvious. That's why crossplay is such a big deal.
I’m still on PS4 while buying physical PS5 games
I still have my ps4 due to having a larger library than the ps5 even though the ps5 and xbox series x both came out the same year but the xbox series x has more games than the ps5 and bought the xbox series x because of backwards compatibility for my old xbox games from the original xbox. The ps5 discs needs to be connected to the internet just for the ps5 discs to work when physical discs in the past consoles never needed to be connected to the internet just to play games. It's not like having a disc connected to the internet will prevent piracy since there are users that can still pirate the ps5 with certain types of hardware and firmware to circumvent the internet connection needed if they choose to go that route. I would not be surprised if someone made a chip to bypass the anti piracy to play the ps5 discs without needing to connect to the internet or even a usb stick to bypass the anti piracy with software installed on the usb stick to circumvent the anti piracy that needs to be connected to the internet. There is a possibility that someone can make a flipper zero type of device dedicated to game consoles and even pc users that we have not heard about since there are modders that will go to great lengths to be able to do whatever they want without dealing with the limitations imposed by the manufacturers by reverse engineering the modern game consoles and modern pcs.
Inflation has left people with less money than usual and the consoles normally sell the most after multiple price drops... So it is a double whammy!
There are no money to spend for game 70-80£ when food prices are 40% higher since pandemic

Ahahaha
Well the only other console I recommend is Nintendo Switch(which is fantastic btw).
I’ve had a PS5 for a year and a half and I haven’t bought one game for the console outside of God of war Ragnarok that was bundled with the console. You have a $500 dollar console and even more in places outside the USA. You have 70 dollar games, 80 a year for online, 70 for a controller, 30 for a charging port it gets expensive. Plus you just don’t have the games because of how long development cycles take. Along with being released during Covid when scalpers were marking up the prices has made this one of the messiest console generations ever. The fact the they are still releasing games on the PS4 and Xbox One 4 years after they released is insane. 4 years back in the day was an entire console generation
A 70 dollar is not the default unless you want the game at launch.
The 80 bucks for online also nets you free games every month which saves you some money on games.
You only need to buy a controller once in the console's life time.
Why are you spending 30 bucks on a charging port? You get a cable with the system that charges your controllers. Alternatively if you have a phone with USB-C which most phones released in the last 4-5 years have. You can just use that if you need to charge while you play.
Damm and here me and many others who bought psvr2s full sim rigs just to play GT7.... a game with infinite replay ability. If you haven't found anything to play then gaming might not be for you.
I'm sorry, but if you're spending 70 dollars on games, then you're an idiot.
You mean you bought a $500 dollar console, on top of a $600 dollar VR headset that has very few games most of which are tech demos, for a single racing game. Yeah that’s pretty expensive don’t you think just to play one game. Plus not everyone likes or cares about racing games and most won’t pay 1200 dollars to experience 1 game.
@@gothpunkboy89 1.then you would have to get them on sale or used and the latter doesn't the devs 2.if you have to pay a subscription they are not free 3. the dualsense has had multiple stick drift issues 4.honestly this is the only actual point you have that isn't stupid
The Series X is just the Sega Dreamcast of today.
I believe the last report was 27 million Series S/X units sold as of December 2023. Not 21 million as John stated. We don't have and up to date count.
I'm one of them.
90% of my time is on Nintendo Switch, but otherwise for modern console games I just have a ps4. A launch ps4. Playing Persona 3 Reload on it. Plan to play Metaphor Refantazio on it in Fall.
PS5 is too big, unweildy, and expensive for me. Especially seeing as how I'll also be needing to buy yet another separate ssd for it too. Screw it
You don't "need" to buy a separate SSD. If you already have an external hard drive you can just store games that you aren't actively playing on it, while PS4 titles will run directly off it. Or you can just delete and reinstall games as and when you need. I know multiple PS5 owners who never bothered to expand storage because they only play 1 or 2 games at a time.
Ditto. I'm also a Switch and PS4 gamer. I'm not planning to get a PS5, though I could change my mind. I'm planning to get a Switch 2 on launch day. I want to play Persona 3 Reload, but haven't decided between PS4 and Switch 2 for that one. Persona 3 reload is not coming to Switch, but is coming to Switch 2, possibly as a launch title.
I only use the PC for emulation. I recently moved all of my PCs to Linux, and haven't bothered to get into Linux gaming, but I emulate a lot of games from NES all the way up to PS3.
I’m just waiting for the PS5 Pro. There isn’t a big library of truly next-gen games on it yet, so I see no reason to upgrade now.
Same I’m on OG phat ps4 to ps5 pro.
Exactly, when you can still play 95% of games that are being released on a PS4 and there are no "killer" or "must have" PS5 only games, then there's not a lot of incentive for gamers to upgrade to a PS5.
There has to be a whole bunch of PS5 exclusives along with those "killer" titles, in order to draw gamers into upgrading. And so far there's been hardly any PS5 excluvives at all and no real "must have" PS5 exclusives. Which is pretty dire when you consider we are now half-way through the generation.
@@Redpillliving I went from PS3 to PS4 Pro, and I am glad I waited. By then there was a bigger library of cheaper games that looked and ran better.
@@fafski1199Yeah that's the biggest reason not to do it now. Why buy a PS5 if a PS5 Pro is right around the corner? I'm not gonna buy both.
I know I always tune into DF for all the best news and opinions on the Master System!
Half? im 54 and im still using ps1/2/3/4/5 all bought from new
The classic PS3 meme was “PS3 has no games”, and when compared to the PS2 it really didn’t. PS4 had fewer games than PS3. PS5 has fewer than PS4. There’s nothing to play on this thing and it’s been out for almost a full generation.
I'd buy one but all I'd play that isn;t multiplat is FF16 and stellar blade so ...
Why do people keep saying there is nothing to play? Then rather explicitly removing games from that list?
It is like someone going to a restaurant and then saying there is nothing to eat because food made by someone else doesn't count.
Yep. This is the only generation were I've questioned how disappointing it is.
It has been out for a bit over half a generation and there definitely is a lot to play. Maybe not as much as ps4 at the same time frame, but to say "there is nothing to play" is a gigantic overstatement. Also the caliber of games is better imo
I play GT7 on PS4 until GT8 there's no need to get a PS5
Now with Helldivers 2 we know that:
1) Consoles only exclusive doesn’t matter
2) If the games is good it will sell
3) Microsoft doesn’t know how to make a good games anymore. They focus too much on service bla bla bla.
9th generation consoles and games are simply too expensive. The improvements aren't worth the asking price
Game and console prices have remained nearly the same for 3 decades bro lol
I have a ps4 pro so games still look good on a 4k tv + still have a massive colection of games that I bought on sale over the years and haven't yet got around on playing them . I've see Ps5 at a friend. Felt more like bumping up from medium to high settings when compared to PS4 so I don't know if Ill upgrade. Maybe with PS5pro anf gtaVI ? 😅
Only reason i got a ps5 was for FF games
I don't care about what you do. Or about you in general.

All of this gets solved once GTA 6 comes out! Watch how many of those PS4 players upgrade to the PS5.
Exactly, and there's still 18 or so months until GTA 6 releases, so by then, about 25-30 more consoles will have been sold. And when GTA 6 releases, you can expect another rise in sales.
And also, I wouldn't say it's half. Total sales don't equate to users.
@@mza4739I'll just buy an Xbox S if I want to play GTA 6. I'm not spending all that money on a PS5 just for one game.
@@moomin7461Yepp as a PlayStations man myself since Ps1 , 3 and the ps4 i just bought a second hand series S to have beside my PS4, PS5 just ain't worth it yet , and Thats crazy since how many years its been out , but Microsoft have the same issues, the lack of good games this generation ... But rather buy a cheap series S rather then loose it on PS5 , for the moment yet to come .
As you said , GTA6 will do fine on the series S . Then we have the PC issue too . Gaming on pc without paying for multiplayer for example thats a disgrace for the consoles to pay for something extra for gaming online ,MP etc thats the wrong way to go for the consumer , something thats always been free on PC so this PC talk in the video i dont really aggre. PC aint complicated, its by far more useful instead .
I'm still happy with my PS4 Pro. Havent felt any urge to upgrade, there has been no "killer app" that made me want to upgrade.
Prices haven't gone down as much as they usually do. The slim is out and it isn't like £100 cheaper from launch price or anything.
I just upgraded to ps5 last month after my launch day ps4 broke 😂😂😂
If half still on PS4 why on earth are they doing PS5 pro ??
The same reason why they made a ps4 pro. As you can see in the comment section...People are waiting for the pro instead of buying the base ps5
It's not half. Total sales doesn't equate to users.
@@Luke973T ps4 pro was cuz of 4K mainly, plus because of pandemic and shortages this generation just barely starting, name more than 5 or 6 exclusives on either console? Plus MS is coming with their next system. So the Pro is just too early imo, 2026 would be better
@@mza4739 you didn’t watch the video maybe just read the title? They said half the PlayStation user base..is still on PS4
@symboltherapper and there are plenty of games that are 1080p 60 on the ps5 or sub 4k. If people wanted a ps4 for 4k then...surely they want a ps5 pro for 4k 60. And it's not too early that makes no sense. People are in these comments waiting for the pro before they even buy a ps5. It would be silly to wait until the last year or so of the ps5 to release a pro.
Of course. The PS brand has always been known for its longevity. It is such a bonus for Sony to continue get profit from their legacy product, with their current gen product.
I still game on a 1080p monitor. I bought a PS4 pro recently because I wanted to play some new games my laptop couldn't handle. I'm looking forward to SMT V and Metaphor from Atlus.
I also play online games on the PS4 because I run a linux laptop that can't play games with anti cheat like fortnite or apex legends.
There is no need for Ps5 🤷♂️.
Only if you don't mind playing games at 30fps.
No reason to buy a ps5 because all their games are on ps4 and pc.
PS4 games on PS5 are more inpressive than PS5 games. It's stupid.
Nah - the load times alone on PS5 make it worth having over the PS4. I have an old gaming PC and to upgrade it to play modern games at only 1080p60 will cost over CAD1000. I don’t get the dismissal of the PS5 and its tangible benefits over PS4 and PC.
casual gamers do not care about fast loading or any of the main ps5 features as long as they can play cod, sports games and Fortnite they will be satisfied
I think we still in the same generation from 2013
I agree with John. Too many games publishers and game devs chase that success and wonder why the game fails. There can only be one. We need new ips and risk takers.
I have a ps5, xsx and a high end PC. But my libary of games on ps5 is so small. Most end up on being pc. My xsx hasnt even been turned on in a year since there is no games and all are on pc with game pass. Mostly just game on PC now.
I play my series x way more than my ps5 it mostly collects dust
For me Series x was a waste of money. I bought it for forza horizon 5. But I can play that on Xbox one or pc. I put it back in the box and haven't touched the thing in over a year. Ps5 is far superior for me. But I prefer single player story driven games.
I use my Series X way more than my PS5, as well, and it frankly comes down primarily to the simple fact that the controller offers significantly better battery life, and that the batteries can be easily swapped.
PS5 feels not really next gen console, but an upgraded PS4 & PS4 PRO. PS5 Console should be called ps4.3 at this point, PS6 should be called ps5. Just my opinion but I'm disappointed with both Microsoft and Sony this generation both consoles to me are just upgrades of their predecessors 😑. So it's no surprise that 50% of Sony's players are still on the PS4 considering that well why would you want to waste your money on a console that's slightly better than the PS4.

Hi Everyone !
With all PS5 games coming to PC, there is no need for a PS5. However PS4 is worth it because it has so many exclusives.
Great takes. Enjoy listening to your logical and objective discussions regarding these topics while I work.
To be honest , I really don't have a need to move to the PS5 . I've owned every Playstation console except for the PS5 and still play the PS3 and PS2 a few times a month , with the PS4 being my daily console . When the PS5 Pro gets released and we know the price and specs, then maybe I'll have an interest, especially with the release of GTA 6 on the horizon .
