Did this last year and the Command hooks took the paint right off the mantle. I only had the garland up for about 3 weeks, so it’s not like it was on there for months. Very disappointing.
Those hooks have never worked for me. The garland won't stay up for more than a minute without pulling them off the mantel, and that's before I even attach lights or decorations. When they pull off they stop being sticky and they take the paint with them within a few seconds. Total garbage. I've spent years trying to find anything that will hold the weight of a lightweight garland and I give up.

Sorry Command hooks didnt work for me, garland fell off twice. For me push pin did the trick

Fabulous Lisa !!!what size hooks did you use. The ones I used must to big ...I cant make the wire stay wrapped around the hook.
