My hubby just bought me a 2021 Kia Seltos SX. Its loaded with turbo. It's the best vehicle I've ever owned. It drives so smooth and so much fun to drive. I got it in Starburst yellow which is a limited edition color. It has all the bells and whistles. Coolest part is the trim above my glovebox turns blue and goes back and forth to the beat of the music. And lights on both sides blink off and on. I would highly recommend this suv. Its so comfortable to sit in. I cant say enough about what an awesome suv it is.
I have been interested in the Seltos since it was first introduced. and have watched many reviews. However, I must say you delved deeper and answered many questions that I both had and didn't know to ask. Your review was very thorough and I especially enjoyed you opinion on the dual clutch transmission. Many thanks for your inciteful and honest review and especially the advice on test driving the vehicle as I actually drive and not as the dealer wants me to. Again, great job.
I’ve been leasing this 2021 Kia Seltos SX and I just made my last lease payment. I’m trying to decide whether to buy it or not. I’ve watched countless videos on this car over two years plus I have to say my Canadian brother yours is the best video I have seen and I got to say I’m buying the car, especially since the residual is $19,932. Great video thank you.
Im actually considering leasing one of these, the horsepower is a little low at 152 and 0 to 60 is 8.5 seconds but for an AWD, reliable CUV.. It’s pretty good.
Just bought a brand new Seltos SX Turbo white with black roof and LOVE IT! My past vehicles have been a H2 SUT, Infiniti FX 45, Infiniti M45, and a Suzuki SX4 Sportback custom turbo.

Nice thorough review. That color is "Mars Orange" here in the U.S. (I have that color). Bought the Seltos in Feb. 2020 when I took my Soul in for an oil change, and saw the Seltos in the showroom. Loved the Soul, but wasn't too fond of not being able to fit my golf clubs in it without putting seats down, and the Seltos cargo space was much better (and does indeed fit a full set of clubs in the cargo area with all seats up, and more grocery bags too!). After more than a year of ownership, I still love the car. Seats are very comfortable, and while it may not ride as nicely as some others in this segment (like my wife's Suby Crosstrek), it is the perfect blend of size and functionality, and I have no complaints. Well, the one negative I've noticed thus far is that sometimes when the sun comes through the back windshield at a certain angle, it glares terribly off of some of the hard plastic on the steering wheel. That could be easily remedied by wrapping some cloth around it, but it happens so rarely, it's not worth it.
@Tiffany M No. I have the FWD 'S' trim with the standard engine. I preferred better gas mileage over anything else engine-wise. Consistently get 34mpg in mixed driving.
@Tiffany M Strange - didn't know the EX had such limited colors. I get having a preference. I went out-of-state to buy mine because they didn't have a color I liked in my preferred trim line locally. I like the yellow/black as well, but no one had that one in the area. Unfortunately, I know nothing about engines, but figure the simpler the better. @Tiffany M I actually preferred the cloth/sofino seats to the seats in the higher trim lines, so was glad the 'S' had those. I think there are some slight differences in the S FWD trim and S AWD trim, so you might want to be aware of those. Not sure what they are, but I'm pretty sure there were some. I'm retired and in PA, so while we do get some snow, AWD isn't really a necessity most of the time, and being retired, I can just stay home when the weather is bad. Your situation might be different. If we do have to drive in bad weather, my wife has the Crosstrek. We've had one vehicle with a sunroof, and found that for the vast majority of the time, we never used any feature of it (i.e. either pulled back the cover or opened it), so it's never been a feature I've sought, though they do look cool. Of course, they also generally take away some head room (as they do in the Seltos), so there is that disadvantage. Not sure how much fun the Seltos is over some of the others in the class that might handle a little better (like something from Mazda or even the Hyundai Kona), but like I said before, if you want the most practical vehicle in this class, I don't see a competitor. The Crosstrek is definitely a very nice car, but its storage area is just a bit smaller than the Seltos, and it sits a little lower.
@Tiffany M Oh, and the seats have held up very well for the first year+. And I like the sound system just fine. Actually heard the bose system in a higher trim level when I was shopping, and I didn't think it sounded all that great, though maybe it was just what was playing. @@rajagopal5570 you know nothing about crash test, Tata Nexon is 5 star with 2 air bags only. Kia will remain 3 star even with 6 airbags because the structure integrity was declared unstable. Nice Video production! Hey, a heavy hood might be a good thing. My 2016 Accord felt like I was going to dent the hood just laying a finger on it; almost felt too flimsy. I had my Kia Seltos for about 1 year now Ex premium. It is a little noisy when I'm driving on the highway I noticed. It is a little slow but I knew that before I purchased it and there is a lot of plastic in the interior. I still like it very much, it looks good and is reliable. One of the main selling points was also the price, it has great value. I have a BMW also and have driven a new Mercedes. In general the German cars are nicer overall but double the price.
@@LarryMar Nice. I was looking at the reviews for the Trailhawk before I got the Seltos. The exterior looks and color stood out with the Trailhawk. They made the exterior styling nice for that car as well.

Good job and commentary, laughed at how old people get in the car, every time the wife picks up her mom I always wonder how the F do the door rails get so dirty 🤔
I don't know about that dual clutch transmission. I had one in my company car, 2012 Ford Focus, and it was horrible from stopped to around 20mph, it would judder and I thought the transmission was bad. Ford said that's just the way it works. But I heard years later that Ford has to replace or compensate folks for those transmissions, it is that bad. I would have to drive the newer dual clutch transmissions to see if that is still an inherent problem.
The 7 speed dual clutch transmission is my 2018 Hyundai Kona has been great! I heard it "clunk" one time when I was in my driveway. Other than than, never a sound or any shifting problems at all. I think it may be the same transmission that's in the Seltos. With the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty I don't worry about the tranny nor the turbo engine.
KIA Seltos rear Aircon vent blowing warm air when Aircon temperature is set at 25 degree celsius and outside environmental temperature is above 34 degree celsius, their service work shop claimed that is normal. During the visit on 26 Apr 2021, inspection was carried out on the vehicle’s Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning System; the values such as Ambient Temperature Sensor, Evaporator Temperature Sensor, photo sensor, In-car air temperature sensor and other related values that maintain the operation of the climatic air-conditioning system. We did not find any abnormalities in the values and all sensors and actuators are functioning normally and a diagnostic scan with the manufacturer’s diagnostic scanner did not report any diagnostic trouble codes. These data was also inspected and compared to 2 other similar vehicles and the performance was found to be similar and thus the vehicle’s air-conditioning system was judged to be operating normally. That's radiculous and sily.
A lot of other reviewers have pointed out how easily the DCT overheats, even when just light off roading or plowing through deep snow. Has Kia addressed this issue yet? Did you experience overheating during your test drive?
I just got the seltos and it's okay. I have the turbo but it doesn't have all these features this car has. Tge screen is not a three split screen, no heads up display, no heated steering wheel, and the screen doesn't say hi in my car. I guess I should have gotten mine from Canada
It still stands killed In Action. I own Accords before I usually put 245,000 on them. I've put 210,000 on my Kia Spectra which is good. The most dependable I'ver owned was my Lexus ES 350 which I've put 312,000 miles. The sad part it was a six and it's a little more gas.
The "HI" would be the maximum temperature setting on the climate control. A lot like my Peugeot 307; temperature control isn't buried under a screen menu.
I don’t think it looks like a baby rav4, maybe a baby Range Rover. I compared it to the RAV4 since the leg room is technically bigger, but the cargo was a bit smaller. I was looking for leg room over all else, and well getting the sx turbo value was so much better than a comparable rav4.

In india we dont get a AWD but the the interior has a soft material and lather on the dash
58.years. old. This. Will be. My. First. New. Car!!!!!!
How did he get the navigation to go full screen!? My das owns an SX but it’s cut off by a side widget that he can’t collapse. Someone please help.
And why do the non US versions come with a HUD and rear heated seats!? 😩
Is it quiet or smooth riding enough? Other reviews I’ve seen said it’s noisy and harsh riding.
I have the base AWD and it's pretty quiet. Don't expect Mercedes or BMW quiet tho. The ride is pretty good too.
What's the safety rating?
Good job and commentary, laughed at how old people get in the car, every time the wife picks up her mom I always wonder how the F do the door rails get so dirty 🤔
Hahaha!
Very true!
Mike, the Snowy Village soundtrack is the Canadian Sasquatch! :)
Ahhhh great to know!
I hear Kia is working on a Seltos 4 door pickup truck...? I WANT IT... When is it coming?
I love the Kia tiger nose grill. I think they are still the only company with small grills. It definitely looks better than BMW's butt grill.
Hahah truth
Well they copied it from Chevvy anyway
Thanks for sharing, educating and the energy is amazing.
Appreciate that!
Why we dont have this variant in Philippines.
Mileage?
Love the review very professional but tell you secrets I already love love this little suv but the you broke it down I like it more thank you
Will this SX be available in INDIA too??

The right choices in a Chevy Trailblazer SUV get it loaded you got a dream come true
It still stands killed In Action. I own Accords before I usually put 245,000 on them. I've put 210,000 on my Kia Spectra which is good. The most dependable I'ver owned was my Lexus ES 350 which I've put 312,000 miles. The sad part it was a six and it's a little more gas.
mpg ?
first time on your youtube and Im pretty sure with this intros of yours you could make me want a horse if you wanted
Lol!
How about a donkey?
LMFAO...WHAT...THE CAR SAYS HI 2 U...WOW....KILLING IT KIA LOL...GREAT VID,THANKS 4 ALL INFO
The "HI" would be the maximum temperature setting on the climate control. A lot like my Peugeot 307; temperature control isn't buried under a screen menu.

Nice review, even though I expected a bose review
I don’t think it looks like a baby rav4, maybe a baby Range Rover. I compared it to the RAV4 since the leg room is technically bigger, but the cargo was a bit smaller. I was looking for leg room over all else, and well getting the sx turbo value was so much better than a comparable rav4.
