Det er alltid vanskelig å se størrelsen på en båt før man får noen referansepunkter. I Karibia er BE FREE relativt beskjeden, men hadde den ligget ved brygga i Tønsberg ville den nok fått oppmerksomhet. 40 fotere blir små ved siden av. Men rart hva en blir vant med... Hadde det ikke vært for driftskostnadene skulle jeg gjerne hatt 10-15 fot større🤣 Sånn er det bare... Cheers fra BE FREE 🍻

Simply excellent video of the canal passage, Thomas and Gee, congrats! I did not know it could be done in one day. Thanks so much for bringing back memories. I went through the canal this week last year, with SV Delos on the other side of a Leopard 48 cat. My videos of my solo trip to French Polynesia and on to Fiji are amateurish in comparison, but might give you some ideas for where you are headed.

Skipping the overpriced Galapagos as it’s now just a all inclusive charter island anyway. To much hassle with Zertifikates of anti fouling, chemical bombing inside, and much more. Topped up with ridiculous fees and strict anchor rules... To me it’s a joke and obvious they don’t want sailors to visit. Galapagos is turning it’s islands into an umbrella island, and lost its magic to me. So many other places just as interesting if not more. All the best and cheers 🍻

Earlier I was thinking of leaving BE FREE in Ecuador and visit Galapagos as a tourist from there. It’s to expensive and to much hassle to bring BE FREE in to Galapagos. If we choose the northern route it will be nonstop to Polynesia. Cheers 🍻

Basically being sailing my entire life both pleasure and racing. Several seasons solo sailing in the Mediterranean before buying BE FREE early 2018. Really love following you Thomas BUT your faces are mostly in shade because of your hats. My kindly suggestion is to get a light or maybe just a different setting on your cameras that allow better brightness and resolution on your faces. Cheers, Greg
Yes this doesn’t come cheap! I have mentioned a few times in different episodes that the era of shoestring budgets on small boats are unfortunately over. Increased fees everywhere, anchor fees and national park taxes. Clearing in/out costs anything between 10-500$ so far. Agent fees for countries with complicated paperwork and the list goes on... Marinas demanding insurance... Yes it’s totally nuts! Hence the fact we are skipping the Galapagos. Sailing is the most expensive way of travelling for free, and probably the hardest and most expensive way to run a TH-cam channel as well.

Basically being sailing my entire life both pleasure and racing. Several seasons solo sailing in the Mediterranean before buying BE FREE early 2018. Ha ha🤣 Who knows but hopfully not as much struggle. I’m actually looking forward to the Indian Ocean experience as well. Now as it looks like Suez Canal is safe we might take this route back into the Mediterranean. This is something I was hoping for when I left the Med 5 years ago.

My kindly suggestion is to get a light or maybe just a different setting on your cameras that allow better brightness and resolution on your faces. Cheers, Greg

Yes this doesn’t come cheap! I have mentioned a few times in different episodes that the era of shoestring budgets on small boats are unfortunately over. Increased fees everywhere, anchor fees and national park taxes. Clearing in/out costs anything between 10-500$ so far. Agent fees for countries with complicated paperwork and the list goes on... Marinas demanding insurance... Yes it’s totally nuts! Hence the fact we are skipping the Galapagos. Sailing is the most expensive way of travelling for free, and probably the hardest and most expensive way to run a TH-cam channel as well.
