I used to play lots of Runick Sky Striker but then stopped because Fountain went to 1 I thought it would be too hard to play. Going to have to give it a try now that we have Camelia and 3 Engages
That kashtira player either had a bad hand or something, since he didn't get Shangri-la and arise-heart out turn one like every kashtira deck I wind up playing.
Runick is not a new variant to fit with sky striker. Basically, sky triker need handtrap and 3 more spell on the grave and runick can do both of them plus free draw 3 to get access to sky triker and sky triker will help runick control the board and the grave plus engage free draw +1 to access runick. This variant has been appear for a long time.
Runick Sky Striker has always existed ever since the former came to Yu-Gi-Oh in general since the Runick Cards do provide Sky Striker with GY set up and Deck Destruction and (most importantly) search/recovery capabilities, giving them better start up and grind game (specially in the past with Engage limited). While Sky Striker do provide Runick with additional Disruption/Board Breaking (specially back then when Slepnir wasn't on the game so Runick couldn't do that by themselves) and Aggressive/OTK potential for when the time finally comes to go for the offensive
"ah yes i already have all the runick cards, i only need the sky striker cards... it cant be that many urs right?" its 11 urs not counting the 3 upstarts + tcaboo 💀
@@MDNoub upstart actually can make you cant do OTK with link age. But if it purpose for 3 spell in grave burial good also good replacement + metalfoe fusion for burial target (cheaper than 3 upstarts)
@@yogi_gs with this version you will never make an ftk with linkage since runick will not make you attack, it is very rare to linkage otk sadly. linkage is used to summon sky striker links and use their effects
You need to know the meta and have a priority list in mind. Like first Runick then Striker Linkage is 1st priority after the board is cleared. Don’t waste your Runick spells in GY etc. From deckbuilding there are some interesting ideas as well (like a card that I forgot the name of that specials the Striker links from GY for another round of Linkage).
It’s more toxic Sky Striker, but it’s still less toxic Runick.

He could have gone into both. However it wouldn’t have mattered since Lava golem clears everything
Good variation of runick. But i will change the deck list alot to get the type i want

You dont realy need upstart btw. You can cut upstart and replace with hand trap or maybe board breaker.
