Nah my mom's like this with her favorite child. You know the American example, but your kinda right though it's not the mass majority of parents it's more of the minority.
Let's be honest, the American mom didn't buy that many of them. She opened every single one and threw them on the floor until she found the one she wanted, them verbally berated an employee when they told her she wasn't allowed to do that.
My experience with blind bags in the UK is you just feel the bags to get the one you want. The employees don't care. Often they'll even help you find the one you want.
I once found a blind bag in the bread isle of a sainsbury's probably left by a kid told by a parent they couldn't have it, I asked my mum if I could get it and somehow she said yes, got to the checkout, turns out it was £25 😂
i remember trying to get the brown spaceman in a lego minifigure blind bag and the employee at the store was helping me feel the bags. I ended up getting it and we were so happy she made my day. therefore she shall be immortalized in a youtube comment
As a Mexican who grew up in America, it's so accurate. The first time my niece saw a quarter machine she asked for one so I'm like sure why not. And then she started crying because she didn't want a bouncy ball, she wanted the plastic dice at the top of the machine.
as an asian, if i asked for something, my mom would say we had too many toys at home (even if we didn't) finally she would leave and i had to follow her

American parents are actually wayyy stricter than that from my experience.
